    Caring professional staff; highly recommended

I'm very satisfied with the caring, professional staff at this small, home-style board-and-care. Dana, RN and the A.C.E. team treated my mom like family, provided attentive, clear communication, and even made her 90th birthday magical. The house is clean, well-maintained, full-time staff provide fun activities and peace of mind, and the fair pricing makes this an easy recommendation.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews characterize Advanced Care for Elderly as a small, residential-style facility with a strong emphasis on hands-on, individualized caregiving. Many families highlight the compassion and attentiveness of direct-care staff and several specifically praise licensed nursing oversight (named RNs were mentioned), full-time on-site staffing, and a home-like atmosphere that supports resident comfort. Cleanliness, a well-maintained interior, and a calendar of engaging activities — including personalized celebrations — are frequently described as contributors to resident wellbeing.

Care and staff: Care quality is generally described positively at the staff level. Reviewers emphasize respectful, family-oriented interactions and examples where staff went beyond routine duties to support residents and families. Licensed nursing involvement and a nurse-administrator role are noted as strengths that provide clinical oversight and help families feel reassured. At the same time, there are service-level concerns related to dementia care: reviewers cited situations that indicate gaps in dementia-specific protocols and adaptive care planning. Prospective families with memory-care needs should verify the facility’s formal dementia care training, behavior-management plans, and staff competency assessments.

Clinical incidents, communication, and management: Communication from administration is often described as clear and comforting, and fair pricing and overall responsiveness are also highlighted. However, at least one serious allegation about owner conduct during a hospital transfer was raised; while this appears to be an outlier against a generally positive set of comments, it points to potential weaknesses in emergency-transfer procedures, accompaniment practices, and family notification. These items are reflected in the cons above: concerns about leadership oversight, inconsistencies between stated services and actual practice, and the need for clearer, standardized transfer and notification protocols.

Activities, dining, and facilities: Reviewers consistently praise the activity program and the facility’s effort to make the environment pleasant and celebratory, citing events like milestone birthday parties. The home-like small scale and attentive staff contribute to a sense of individualized life enrichment. Specific information about dining quality or menu variety is limited in the available summaries; reviewers emphasize comfort and overall satisfaction rather than detailed comments about meals.

Notable patterns and recommendations: The dominant pattern is positive staff-level care, strong personal attention, and a comfortable, small-home environment. Counterbalancing this are concerns about dementia-specific practices and how leadership manages clinical escalations and transfers. For families considering this facility, it would be prudent to (1) review written dementia-care protocols and staff training records, (2) ask for the facility’s emergency-transfer and accompaniment policies and examples of how families are notified, and (3) meet with administrative leadership to clarify oversight responsibilities and expectations. These steps can help confirm whether the facility’s operational practices align with the positive day-to-day caregiving described in the reviews.

    About Advanced Care for Elderly

Advanced Care for Elderly sits in a quiet Anaheim neighborhood, close to hospitals and clinics, which makes it convenient for residents when they need medical care, and you'll see that it's a small home, only taking care of up to six people at a time, so there's always a good bit of attention for everyone, and the staff includes a Registered Nurse with over twenty years of experience in working with seniors, plus a second administrator who knows a lot about behavior and counseling, so the care's pretty steady all day and night. Residents get help with basic daily things like bathing, dressing, and moving around, and when someone needs it, there's medication management, incontinence care, special support for dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, diabetes, stroke rehab, and even hospice when it's needed, and there's extra services like reminders for medication, observation for any side effects, plus checkups from a house doctor and a podiatrist.

The community's set up to be comfortable and homelike, with private furnished rooms and a big, secure backyard where people can walk or garden if they want to, and everyone eats meals made from scratch in the gourmet kitchen, with options for special diets like diabetes or allergies, and meals happen in a shared dining room so there's plenty of company. There are scheduled daily activities like movie nights, social gatherings, community events, and homeowners handle things like laundry, housekeeping, and transportation-with free rides included-to help people get around or get to appointments.

Language support's available in English, and everything's wheelchair accessible, making it easier for folks who need a little help getting around. There's a big focus on making sure people feel safe and cared for, with staff treating everyone like family and offering one-on-one support, and the no-smoking rule keeps the home clean and healthy. Emergency alert systems are there for quick help if someone needs it. While there aren't dozens of people like at big facilities, this place offers a more personal touch, with care plans tailored to what each resident needs day to day, and with all help taking place in a home setting, it feels more like a regular house than a medical building. With 24-hour supervision and individualized care, Advanced Care for Elderly aims to provide a calm, friendly space for seniors who want some assistance but still want a sense of home and community.
