    Compassionate memory care with cabins

I can't recommend Pacific Pines enough. Their memory care exceeded my expectations-Ramon, Nancy and Joel were incredible, responsive and professional, and the caregivers truly cared with 24/7 compassionate, loving care. The wonderful staff kept her safe and comfortable (she had a smile on her face at passing); the outdoor-access cabins and separate lounges make it unlike any other facility.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The reviews for Pacific Pines are uniformly positive. Families emphasize compassionate, loving care and a deep sense of trust in staff and leadership. Multiple reviewers single out specific team members and executives for strong communication and responsiveness, and several comments emphasize that the facility exceeded expectations, particularly for memory care and end-of-life support.

Care quality and clinical/environmental safety: Reviewers consistently describe the caregiving as compassionate and loving, noting that caregivers genuinely care for residents. Memory care is called out as having exceeded expectations, and the provision of 24/7 care is explicitly mentioned, indicating continuous supervision and availability of staff. Safety is cited directly by reviewers, and one account highlights a peaceful, dignified end-of-life moment in which a resident passed with a smile on her face, which families attributed to the quality of care and comfort provided.

Staff, communication, and management: A notable pattern is the praise for communication and responsiveness. Specific staff and leaders are named—Nancy and Ramon are cited as strong communicators and executive directors who engage positively, and Joel is highlighted for his interactions. Reviewers mention timely responses and professional communication, and repeatedly call the staff outstanding and wonderful. These comments point to a strong culture of family engagement and accessible leadership, which appears to reassure families and contribute to high overall satisfaction.

Facilities and atmosphere: Several summaries emphasize facility features that distinguish Pacific Pines from other communities. Outdoor-access cabins and separate lounge areas are mentioned, and reviewers describe the environment as unique and unlike any other facility they have encountered. This suggests a more homelike, intimate layout and options for private or semi-private spaces that families appreciate.

Dining, activities, and other services: The supplied reviews do not provide specific information about dining quality, menu variety, recreational programming, therapy services, or medical/clinical specialties beyond memory care and 24/7 supervision. While social spaces and outdoor-access cabins are noted, there is insufficient detail to evaluate daily activities, therapeutic programming, or dining services from these summaries alone.

Gaps and caveats: The reviews are strongly favorable and contain no explicit complaints or concerns. That said, the dataset is limited in scope and emphasizes interpersonal and environmental strengths. Important practical topics not addressed in these summaries include pricing and cost transparency, staffing ratios and clinical qualifications, details of medical or rehabilitative services, accommodation of special dietary or cultural needs, and regulatory/inspection records. Prospective families should seek out additional information or ask the facility directly about these areas to form a complete picture.

Conclusion and recommendation: Based on these reviews, Pacific Pines appears to deliver high-quality, compassionate memory care with 24/7 staffing, a safe and comforting environment, and leadership that communicates effectively with families. The facility’s physical features, such as outdoor-access cabins and separate lounges, contribute to a distinct, homelike atmosphere that multiple families value. While overwhelmingly positive, these summaries do not cover all operational or clinical dimensions, so prospective residents and families should verify specifics on services, costs, and clinical capabilities during a visit or consultation. Overall, reviewers strongly recommend Pacific Pines and report grateful, positive outcomes for their loved ones.

    About Pacific Pines

Pacific Pines sits right in the middle of Angelus Oaks, in the San Bernardino National Forest, and it's a quiet place with clean grounds, tall trees, and a family feeling, offering care for up to 15 people, which means things feel close-knit and personal, and folks don't get lost in the shuffle like they might at bigger places, and the staff, led by Nancy Thrane, really know each resident and their needs. The place goes by "Pacific Pines Assisted Living Facility" and offers different care programs-including Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, Independent Living, and it even operates as a Continuing Care Retirement Community, so seniors can pick the service that fits what they need now, and later, and it is licensed under number 366426701.

They've got board and care home features, and folks can choose between private rooms or shared suites, some with kitchenettes and private bathrooms, every unit already furnished, so moving in involves less hassle, and there's a move-in coordination service that helps new residents get settled in, which is nice if transitions feel hard. Pacific Pines has 24-hour supervision and staff always near enough to help with daily needs, like bathing, dressing, and moving around, and there's always somebody to help with medicine, meals, and even special diets whether it's diabetes needs, low sodium, or low sugar, and they use organic food and ingredients when they prepare the meals.

Daily routines include scheduled activities to keep minds and bodies busy, like games in the common rooms, movie nights, music, and chances to get outside into the well-kept garden or on garden paths, and there's resident parking, transportation to doctors' appointments for a fee, and internet, phones, and cable TV in the rooms, so people can stay connected to family and news. Housekeeping, laundry, and linen services come standard, and the building's designed for wheelchairs, with accessible showers, and emergency alert systems in each unit. There's even a hospice waiver for folks at the end of life, and respite care, meaning families can trust loved ones will get the care they need.

Pacific Pines is set up to care for people with many kinds of health needs, with everything from diabetic care, incontinence help, non-ambulatory support, high acuity care, and memory care for those with dementia or Alzheimer's, and staff on hand are trained for these levels of support, reviewing resident medical records, doing daily health checks, and coordinating with outside healthcare providers, like the nearby hospital or Big Bear Dermatology Medical Center.

The place seems built around helping seniors stay as independent and respected as possible, letting them keep their dignity and make choices, and it doesn't try to be fancy, but does keep a warm, comfortable feeling with fun common spaces, outdoor patios, and a routine that keeps people social. Maintenance-free living here means residents don't worry about cleaning, cooking, or repairs-just living, with as much or as little help as they want, in a wooded mountain setting close to cafes, restaurants, and small shops. And a tip that comes up for anyone choosing a facility like this is to look for a place like Pacific Pines that fits both current and future needs, with different care types and licensed staff, so changes in health don't mean moving again.

Pacific Pines is recognized for providing loving care, as families often say, and the staff do what they can to treat everyone as an individual, focusing on kindness and compassion each day, and with both private and shared spaces, a small community feel, and specialized care programs, Pacific Pines stands out quietly with its honest approach and steady service for seniors in Angelus Oaks.
