    Family-style home with caring staff

I chose this beautiful, home-like residential facility and couldn't be happier - family-style, home-cooked meals, backyard animals, welcoming visiting hours, and a very clean, safe environment. The staff are nurturing, accessible, knowledgeable, and clearly care; the owner is involved too, and my loved one is well taken care of - I highly recommend this hidden gem.

    Summary of reviews

Abundant Residential Living Services, Inc. is portrayed across reviews as a small-scale, residential-style home with strengths in atmosphere and personalized attention. Reviewers consistently describe the environment as warm and home-like, with family-style, home-cooked meals and outdoor amenities such as backyard animals that contribute to a homely, therapeutic setting. The physical environment is frequently characterized as clean, attractive, and well maintained.

Care quality is generally presented as compassionate and resident-centered. Families and visitors describe staff as caring, respectful, and willing to go the extra mile; several comments highlight staff knowledge, accessibility, and frequent visitation opportunities. This suggests a culture that supports dignified, individualized interactions and frequent family involvement. At the same time, there are recurring operational concerns about workforce stability. Inconsistent staffing, high turnover, and reliance on newly hired personnel are described as causing variability in day-to-day experience and may affect continuity of care.

Medication management and clinical oversight are notable areas of concern. Reviewers raised issues indicating gaps in medication-administration controls; one review included an allegation of unlicensed medication administration by nursing assistants. Whether isolated or systemic, these remarks point to a need for clearer protocol enforcement, staff training, and supervision around medication handling and safety.

Dining and activities are strengths: meals are described as home-cooked and served family-style, and the property’s outdoor spaces and animals are cited as positive contributors to residents’ quality of life. The owner/administrator involvement is mentioned as a positive by several families, though perceptions of administrative presence vary — some reviewers feel management is actively engaged, while others describe periods of limited on-site oversight.

For prospective residents and families, the dominant pattern is one of strong person-centered care and a pleasant physical environment paired with operational vulnerabilities related to staffing stability and medication controls. Recommended steps before placement include in-person observation of staff-resident interactions, asking about staffing levels and turnover, reviewing medication-management policies and staff training credentials, and meeting the administrator to assess oversight practices.
