    Attentive staff, excellent post-surgical care

I chose this home-like private residence for my mom and feel she's in very good hands. The owner/operator and staff are knowledgeable, respectful and responsive-nurses and CNAs answer call lights promptly and the full care team (doctors, nurses, CNAs, PT/OT) provided excellent post-surgical and therapy care. Her nice-sized room has a TV, recliner and lift chair, the food is very good, the place is clean and dementia-friendly with engaging activities, and it's close to home; minor remodeling is underway but overall I'm very pleased and would recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Sunrise Post Acute draws a mix of positive and critical feedback. Many families praise the facility’s home-like atmosphere, private rooms equipped with resident-focused amenities, and an owner/operator who is described as knowledgeable and personally involved. Clinical care receives consistent positive mention: reviewers highlight an interdisciplinary team that includes physicians, nurses, CNAs, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, and point to effective therapy services and attentive wound/surgical-site care in specific cases.

Staff interactions are a central strength for many respondents. Several reviewers describe CNAs and nursing staff as friendly, respectful, and responsive; others note timely responses to call lights and an ability to get to know residents personally. At the same time, there are recurring comments about inconsistent responsiveness and variable communication tone. Some families experienced delays or unhelpful interactions that contrasted with other accounts of highly attentive caregiving.

Dining and activities show a mixed picture. Multiple reviewers praise the food and describe pleasant mealtimes, while isolated comments about poor-quality items (for example, powdered eggs) point to occasional inconsistencies in meal preparation. Activities are generally described as engaging and adapted to residents with dementia, but there are reports of limited programming for residents with specific mobility or neurologic conditions, such as Parkinson’s disease.

Facility and environment observations are largely favorable: reviewers note clean, welcoming spaces, proximity to family, and private accommodations. The campus is undergoing remodeling, which some families see as an investment in the environment but which has also been described as a source of operational disruption in a few accounts.

Management and admissions practices are an area of notable divergence. While the owner/operator is frequently cited as engaged and competent, there are serious concerns raised by families about management reliability and ethics. Several reviewers raised allegations of aggressive outreach during hospital stays and patient-privacy issues; a few described incidents involving law-enforcement involvement and raised questions about transparency. These reports create distrust for some families and suggest the need for prospective residents to probe admissions, informed-consent, and privacy policies during a tour.

Taken together, Sunrise Post Acute appears to provide strong, personalized clinical care and a comfortable, home-like setting for many residents, with particular strengths in therapy and hands-on caregiving. However, prospective residents and families should investigate operational consistency: ask specific questions about staffing levels and shift handoffs, fall- and wander-prevention protocols, dining quality controls, privacy and admissions outreach policies, and how ongoing renovations are being managed to minimize disruption. Scheduling a tour, meeting the care team, and requesting recent inspection or incident histories can help clarify whether the facility’s strengths align with an individual resident’s needs.
