    Clean Compassionate Staff Reliable Care

I placed my loved one here and have been very satisfied: the community is exceptionally clean and well organized, rooms are comfortable with private baths, and the staff are kind, honest and responsive. Care services (medication, laundry, housekeeping, meal delivery) are reliable, the meals are good, and there are plenty of activities, clear family communication and easy access to medical/transportation services. The warm, professional team gave us peace of mind and a smooth transition - I would recommend this facility to families seeking compassionate, trustworthy senior living.

    Summary of reviews

Savant of Burbank East presents a mixed but overall service-oriented profile. Many reviewers praise the facility for warm, compassionate caregivers, a broad set of supportive services, and a generally clean, safe environment. Dining and food service are frequently highlighted as strengths—meals are described as high-quality with generous portions and alternate-menu options—and the community offers organized activities, outings, and transportation or visiting medical providers. The community also markets practical advantages such as affordability, Medicare/Medicaid acceptance, placement assistance, and trial-stay options, which can ease transitions for prospective residents and families.

Care quality and staff performance are areas of clear divergence. Numerous accounts describe staff as caring, responsive, and personally engaged; families appreciated personalized assisted-living supports, good family communication, and staff who ‘‘go above and beyond.’’ At the same time, other accounts point to inconsistent responsiveness, communication gaps with families and primary clinicians, and variability in staff training and conduct across shifts. There are also serious operational concerns cited by families, including medication-administration practices that lack consistent family notification and allegations involving missing personal items and unexplained financial transactions. These indicate potential weaknesses in medication documentation, property tracking, and financial safeguards that merit direct inquiry during a tour.

Activities and lifestyle programming receive generally positive feedback: residents and families noted engaging daytime activities, outings (including community trips), and available salon and personal-care services. However, some reviewers described limited evening programming and uncertainty about availability of one-on-one overnight care for residents who require constant supervision; prospective residents who need higher-dependency supports should verify staffing levels and night-care protocols.

The physical plant is described unevenly. Portions of the campus have been remodeled and present a modern, inviting atmosphere; other areas—notably a memory-care unit and a secondary building—are characterized as darker, older, and in need of maintenance or cosmetic refresh. Renovation activity appears ongoing, which can create disruption and variable ambiance between buildings. Management and ownership changes (rebranding to Savant) are associated with reported aesthetic and service improvements by some families, and several reviewers praised helpful placement assistance and a generally organized admissions experience.

Bottom line: Savant of Burbank East appears to offer many features attractive to independent and assisted-living residents—strong dining, engaged daytime programming, and several practical supports—while exhibiting operational variability that affects families’ experiences. Prospective residents and families should tour both buildings, inspect the memory-care unit in person, and ask specific questions about medication protocols, property/financial safeguards, staff training and turnover, nighttime staffing, and evening programming to determine whether the facility’s current performance aligns with the resident’s care needs and expectations.

    About Savant of Burbank East

Savant of Burbank East is a senior living community in Burbank, California, that offers independent living, assisted living, memory care, and several other care options including home care, adult day services, and nursing home care, so you see a wide range of help all in one place, which can make life easier if needs change over time. The building has two stories and offers both one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, and residents can choose private or shared spaces, which are designed to let in lots of natural light and offer privacy and comfort, and there are both large and small lounges for gathering or quiet time.

Residents get meals and snacks prepared by chefs, so there's no need to cook, with special dietary needs like low-salt or low-sugar meals available, and they provide meal, laundry, housekeeping, and linen services, so people can relax and enjoy their days without worrying about chores, and all utilities are included in the care package, which helps keep things simple. The community welcomes both men and women, and pets are allowed, so folks don't need to leave furry friends behind. Smoking isn't allowed in any indoor areas, private or public, so the air stays clean for everyone. Residents have access to beauty and barber services, a salon, a fitness center with classes, a library, a music lounge, walking paths, gardening spots, and a movie theater, so there are plenty of ways to stay active or relax, and there are daily scheduled activities and events, including creative art lessons and group fitness sessions, which help keep everyone engaged, and there are devotional services for those who want them.

Healthcare is a main focus, with licensed nurses always on-site, a doctor on call, and specialists like a podiatrist, dentist, and homecare professionals available, and they offer physical, occupational, and speech therapy. There's medication management, help with dressing, bathing, incontinence, escorting to meals or events, and personal grooming, and staff do periodic check-ins for extra peace of mind. Memory care suites are set up for people with Alzheimer's or dementia, and Savant of Burbank East supports aging in place, so folks can stay longer without needing to move as care needs change. There's complimentary scheduled transportation for appointments or outings, and on-site parking for residents and guests. All apartments and common spaces are wheelchair friendly, including showers, which is good for those who need more accessibility. An emergency call and alert system is in place for safety.

The community has won awards for good meals, friendly atmosphere, and activity programs, and staff are known for being helpful, gentle, and joyful. The entry fee is $500, and rent payments can be all-inclusive, which covers many needed services. Residents and families work with staff to make personalized care plans, so each person gets the help they need. Savant of Burbank East is close to entertainment, dining, and shopping spots in Burbank, and supports a setting where people can enjoy purposeful living, social engagement, and companionship in a safe haven made for adults later in life.
