    Beautiful, comfortable, caring home-like facility

I'm very pleased with this beautiful, clean, home-like facility - roomy accommodations, good meals, and staff who really go out of their way to make residents comfortable. The owner is a hands-on nurse practitioner/PA who's on-call, which gives me real peace of mind, and caregivers provide personal, individualized care (they even brought my dad donuts from his favorite shop). Helpful, considerate staff and a wonderfully run place - I confidently recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews portray a small, well-maintained residential setting with a strong emphasis on personalized, home-style care. Families and visitors commonly describe a calm, comfortable environment and express confidence in daily caregiving. The facility’s layout and appearance are frequently characterized as clean, roomy, and thoughtfully arranged, which supports a home-like atmosphere rather than an institutional one.

Care and clinical management: A recurring strength is direct clinical involvement from ownership; the owner is identified as a clinician (nurse practitioner/PA) who is accessible and on-call. Reviewers say this clinical leadership provides reassurance about medical oversight and individualized care planning. Care practices cited include consistent personal-care routines (for example, regular bathing) and attention to resident preferences, with examples of staff accommodating requests and providing small personal touches that contribute to resident comfort.

Staff and family communication: Staff interactions are described as considerate and helpful, with families noting accommodating admission processes (including virtual tours) and open lines of communication that convey peace of mind. The care team is portrayed as attentive to resident happiness and family concerns. One operational issue families raised is preference or concern about caregiver gender mix; some families indicated limited availability of same‑gender caregivers, which may matter for privacy or personal preference needs.

Dining and activities: Dining is generally reported positively — reviewers mention good, home-style meals and a pleasant dining experience. Activity programming shows mixed feedback: some accounts describe lots of stimulation and planned engagement, while at least one reviewer referenced limited activities. This suggests variability in scheduled programming or differences in how stimulation is delivered across residents. Prospective families should clarify current activity schedules and how programming is individualized to resident needs.

Facilities and operations: The physical home is consistently described as attractive and well-kept, located in a safe neighborhood and operated with a faith-based identity in at least one review. Practical operational concerns that appear in the feedback include occasions of missing personal items; this points to potential gaps in belongings management and suggests families should review property-handling procedures and secure-storage options during admissions. Overall, the pattern is of a small, family-oriented provider with strong clinical leadership and attentive staff, paired with a few operational areas (activity consistency, belongings security, caregiver gender options) that prospective residents and families may wish to review in person.

About A Caring Touch Board and Care

A Caring Touch Board And Care sits in a quiet, single-story house in Chatsworth, California, near Mason Park and some shopping centers, and the atmosphere feels comfortable and homey, the kind of place where neighbors wave if you go out to the garden or stroll the outdoor courtyard, where there are fruit trees and spots to relax outside. This is a small, residential care home for up to six people, and the staff can help with bathing, dressing, getting up, moving around, and taking care of personal needs like incontinence or medication reminders, and there's special care for people with memory problems like Alzheimer's and for those who need diabetic support, including help with insulin. The caregivers are trained to look after seniors with dementia, and they use dedicated routines and simple brain exercises every day to help keep minds active, which seems to help with focus and bring a bit of joy to daily life, and they keep careful records to make sure each person gets the right kind of care as needs change.

There's help for people who need more support over time, so folks don't have to move out if their health goes up and down, and it's also set up for people who sometimes wander or have trouble with mood swings. The home uses a secured system and electronic alerts to keep everyone safe. The staff speaks English, Spanish, and Filipino, and they're around all day and night. A certified nurse practitioner owns the place and can check on medical problems, which helps families feel reassured. Respite care is available for those times when a family caregiver needs a break, and hospice support is there when needed. Residents get all-day access to meals-restaurant-style dining, special foods like kosher, vegan, gluten-free, and they'll serve meals in private dining rooms or even to your room if preferred. There are different activities like art classes, trivia games, gardening, movies, music, a piano, and live performances every so often, plus a full-time activity leader who tries to get everyone involved, even if only for a short time each day.

Housekeeping, laundry, help with errands, and transportation to appointments or shopping are included, and there's parking if someone has a car or visitors come. Safety features like emergency call systems and bathrooms with wheelchair access are standard, and rooms come furnished, with cable TV, Wi-Fi, and small kitchenettes if wanted. Daily devotional services are available both in the home and sometimes outside, and holidays or birthdays get celebrated too, making life feel a bit more connected. Families say the staff handles mood changes and challenges with patience and care, and the home keeps a warm, friendly feeling, always aiming to help residents stay as independent as possible. A Caring Touch Board And Care regularly gets top reviews, with families mentioning the clean and spacious setting, the kindness of the staff, and the personalized care. It's a newly remodeled home with a focus on privacy, safety, and maintaining each person's dignity, while keeping things as much like home as possible. Virtual tours and in-person visits are offered for those wanting to know more or see how things work before moving in.
