    Compassionate, attentive care in facility

I'm very pleased with this clean, small facility - the staff are warm, caring and responsive (Nurse Jennifer and Donnell stood out) and treated my dad like family. Meals are good, activities plentiful, and the outdoor area and leadership helped my mom settle in and feel at home; I'd recommend them for compassionate, attentive care.

    Summary of reviews

The Claremont Hacienda elicits strongly mixed impressions. Many families and residents praise the staff, highlighting compassionate caregiving, hands-on administrative support during move-in, and several named clinical and leadership staff who were viewed as particularly helpful. The community is described as small and community-oriented, with consistent caregiver assignments and a full-time nurse on site—attributes that families linked to better day-to-day continuity. Several reviewers also appreciated the outdoor courtyard, dietary accommodations, generally satisfactory meals, active activities program, and the convenience of the location and parking.

Care quality perceptions are variable. Positive accounts emphasize responsive, family‑focused staff who treat residents with dignity and provide individual attention. Conversely, other accounts raise concerns about clinical consistency, specifically around wound and skin‑care management and the timeliness of clinical responses. These contrasting views suggest variability in clinical practice from case to case; prospective families should clarify current clinical staffing, wound‑care protocols, and how the facility escalates clinical issues.

Operational factors are similarly mixed. Administrative staff and leadership receive frequent praise for assistance with paperwork and move logistics, and some reviewers noted competitive pricing options. At the same time, reviewers described episodic issues with staffing levels, responsiveness to family concerns, sanitation and personal‑belongings management, and occasional unmet expectations about promised activities. The facility’s physical plant is characterized as older but undergoing remodeling; construction activity was mentioned as a present condition that may cause temporary disruption.

Resident mix and accommodations are important considerations. Several reviewers noted that the community tends to serve residents with higher acuity and advanced‑age needs, and the floorplan appears to emphasize shared rooms and shared bathroom arrangements rather than private suites. For families seeking a community with a larger proportion of higher‑functioning residents or private accommodations, this may be a mismatch. Cost impressions vary across reviewers—some describe the community as budget‑friendly, while others find certain room configurations expensive—so confirm current rates and what services are included.

Overall, The Claremont Hacienda offers clear strengths in staff compassion, leadership engagement, and a small‑community atmosphere with on‑site nursing and activity options. At the same time, reviewers describe operational inconsistencies in clinical care, staffing coverage, sanitation and belongings management, and activity delivery. Prospective residents and their families should tour the community, observe staff–resident interactions, verify nurse availability and wound‑care procedures, review room types and costs, and ask about how construction will be managed during the stay.

    About The Claremont Hacienda

The Claremont Hacienda sits in a quiet area of Claremont and offers many types of rooms, like single units, studios, semi-private spaces, and two-bedroom apartments when available, with each type having its own cost. Residents find furnished bedrooms, daily laundry, housekeeping, and basic hygiene items always on hand, along with meals and on-site beautician services. Some small pets are welcome. The facility's 58-bed community helps seniors at many stages, from those needing a little help to those with more serious needs like memory support or skilled nursing, and they also help with incontinence care and medication management, including blood sugar monitoring and injections. There's 24-hour care, awake staff, and a nurse present at all times, with each resident getting a specialized plan for their needs. Staff help with all activities of daily living, from bathing and dressing to grooming and toileting, and provide reminders and supervision, using special technology and secure buildings for those who wander or have memory loss, including a dedicated memory care section made just for dementia and Alzheimer's residents with safety systems like alarm bracelets and locked entries. They're ready for people who need behavioral support or have trouble with aggressive actions, and offer mental health rehab, adult residential care, behavioral health services, and substance recovery programs. Care ranges from light assistance to heavy care with lifts and transfers, and they offer crisis intervention, symptom management, rehab, recovery groups, life skills classes, and prevocational support. Social activities are common, such as bingo, bridge, knitting, clubs, movies, shopping trips, and music, plus religious services and outdoor time in common areas, patios, and gardens. The place's near public transport, Claremont Medical Center, and green spaces like Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden, so residents can stay connected in the community. Their long-standing memory care experience, many behavioral programs, and rehab options make them suitable for seniors with both medical and mental health needs, all in a clean, hotel-like setting that encourages dignity, personal choice, and as much independence as possible.
