    Small compassionate 24/7 care home

I placed my mother at Gentle Manor and couldn't be happier. It's a small (6-resident), clean, wheelchair-accessible home with private rooms (adjustable bed, TV, power-lift chair) and two full-time caregivers plus night rotation who provide gentle, professional, compassionate 24/7 care. Meals are fresh and excellent, staff are friendly and family-inclusive, hospice support was comforting, the move-in was easy - I highly recommend Gentle Manor.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with repeated emphasis on attentive, compassionate caregiving and high-quality meals. Reviewers consistently highlight that staff are friendly, professional, and accommodating; several reviews specifically call the care "gentle" and "compassionate," and multiple comments describe quick resident adjustment and gratitude for the support provided. Staff presence and oversight are noted as strengths: the facility has two full-time caretakers available around the clock, night rotations, and nurses who monitor residents in bed. This staffing pattern is presented as a key reason families felt comfortable and well supported.

Dining and daily living amenities receive separate, consistent praise. The cook and meals are a standout theme — meals are described as fresh, made from scratch, and much enjoyed by residents. Other routine services such as laundry and parking are mentioned positively. Private rooms with adjustable beds, individual TVs, and power lift lounge chairs are cited as tangible comfort features, and reviewers note that the facility is clean and wheelchair accessible. The small, home-like capacity (six residents) is mentioned in the reviews and is portrayed positively in terms of personalized attention and a welcoming atmosphere.

Multiple reviews call out the facility's handling of end-of-life and hospice situations, describing supportive, comforting farewells and staff who work well with families during hospice care. Family involvement in care is highlighted as welcomed and facilitated by the staff, and reviewers express gratitude for the way admissions and transitions were handled — they describe the arrival process as welcoming and straightforward. Several reviewers explicitly recommend Gentle Manor and report no need for improvements, reinforcing the overall high level of satisfaction.

There are few explicit negatives in the supplied summaries. One reviewer noted it was "not the most ideal place," which suggests that the home-like, small-scale setting may not meet every family's preferences or clinical needs. The facility's very small capacity (six residents) can be a limitation for availability and may not suit those seeking a larger institutional environment or additional amenities found in bigger communities. No consistent operational or care complaints are present in the summaries provided; most concerns center on suitability and scale rather than care quality or services.

In sum, the reviews paint a picture of a small, well-run residential care home with strong, compassionate staff; robust 24/7 caregiving and nursing oversight; excellent, home-style meals; and comfortable, private accommodations. It appears particularly well suited to families who value individualized attention, hands-on staff, and hospice-friendly, family-inclusive care. Families for whom a larger facility, broader program offerings, or higher-capacity environment is essential may want to weigh those preferences against the clear strengths noted by reviewers.
