    Caring skilled staff, cozy home

I placed my parent here because the caregivers are genuinely caring, skilled and attentive - they help with showers and meds and even stayed with my parent through the night. The owner/director are warm and easy to work with, the six-resident home is spotless, wheelchair-accessible, and has a cozy communal dining area plus porch/backyard. That said, the facility needs some cosmetic upkeep (front yard, kitchen nook) and could use minor remodeling.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive about the quality of care and the staff at Camino Ramon Home for Seniors. Multiple reviewers emphasize excellent, top-notch care provided by skilled, sincere, and attentive caregivers. Specific examples cited include caregivers who go above and beyond, stay with residents overnight when needed, and provide hands-on assistance with showers and medication. Families repeatedly describe staff as caring, warmhearted, and deeply appreciated, and one reviewer explicitly called out a caregiver who stayed with their parent all night, illustrating the level of personal attention offered.

Staff and management receive consistent praise. In addition to front-line caregivers, the owner is described as helpful and warmhearted, and the director is noted as easy to work with, suggesting good communication and responsiveness to families. The small capacity of the home (six residents) is repeatedly mentioned and is reflected in the overall tone as a benefit: it supports a home-like atmosphere, more individualized attention, and close family-style interactions. The home is also frequently described as very clean or spotless, reinforcing a perception of attentive daily care and housekeeping.

Facility features and accessibility show a mix of strengths and areas for improvement. Positive, concrete features include a wheelchair-accessible back porch, yard, and paths, making outdoor access practical for residents with mobility needs. The communal dining experience is characterized as cozy, with meals served in the kitchen, which supports the small-home, family-oriented model of care. However, reviewers also flagged maintenance-related concerns: some parts of the facility appear rundown, the kitchen nook needs remodeling, and the front yard shows a lack of gardening or curb appeal. These issues seem to be cosmetic or structural rather than reflecting the quality of caregiving, but they are recurring concerns that could affect impressions of the home's overall condition.

Dining and daily routines are described in a positive, homelike way. Meals being served in the kitchen and a cozy communal dining arrangement contribute to the intimate atmosphere that many families value in a small residential setting. There were no detailed mentions of organized activities or therapy programs in the summaries provided, so activity offerings are either limited, informal, or simply not a focus of the reviewers who commented.

In summary, Camino Ramon Home for Seniors is consistently praised for its caring, skilled, and attentive staff and for delivering personalized, high-touch care in a small, clean, home-like setting. Families highlight dependable overnight attention and hands-on support with daily needs, and they appreciate an engaged owner and an easy-to-work-with director. The primary concerns center on the physical condition of parts of the property — notably a kitchen nook in need of remodeling, some overall maintenance issues, and front-yard landscaping — which are important cosmetic and functional considerations but do not appear to detract from the high marks for caregiving. Prospective families who prioritize individualized care and a small, intimate setting should view this home favorably, while those seeking a recently renovated facility with polished exterior landscaping may want to verify updates or improvements to the property before deciding.

About Camino Ramon Home for Seniors

Camino Ramon Home for Seniors in Danville, California, used to provide assisted living and home health care services for older adults who needed some extra help, and the home was known for its compassionate and kind caregivers, along with a warmhearted owner who really cared about the people living there, and the residents could get hospice care when they needed it, too, and you could always sense that family-style feeling in the place. The building itself was a single-story, single-family residence built in 1979, spread over 2,438 square feet, with concrete and wood framing, a shingle roof, a fenced yard on a pretty big 0.35-acre lot, and plenty of natural light filtering inside thanks to the wide, open layout; all this made it bright almost all the time, which was nice, and it always felt airy and spacious when walking through. Residents could move around in wheelchairs pretty easily inside and in the backyard, since the whole property was made to be accessible, and there was a back porch, paved paths, a gazebo, and quiet sitting areas outside for some peace and relaxation whenever anyone wanted fresh air. The home had a renovated kitchen with high-end appliances and sleek cabinetry, newly installed hardwood floors, and a comfortable living room with a fireplace that made the evenings feel cozy during cooler weather. There were several bathrooms, a full bathroom and a half bathroom right on the ground floor, so moving between rooms was safe and simple for everyone, and everyone used to eat together around one big dining table, which made mealtimes feel more like being with a family than in a facility. Parking was always easy since there was an attached garage for two cars and even a carport with at least one extra spot. The backyard was peaceful and park-like, with enough space for a gazebo, and paths to stroll around or sit and enjoy the open sky. The place didn't allow pets, and everything was done to prioritize residents' comfort, with simple routines and on-site services focused on a hassle-free lifestyle. Before it closed, the home had a state license number 075600088 and offered scheduled tours for families, so people could see and understand the environment before choosing it. The starting rate for assisted living care was $4,500. This home is now permanently closed, doesn't provide any care or services, and isn't taking new residents anymore.
