    Impressed by Revel Folsom amenities

I moved my mom into Revel Folsom and I'm impressed - warm, attentive staff (Shannon, Brenda and the team), smooth move-in, modern spacious apartments with balconies, and true resort-style amenities (saltwater pool, gym, theater, salon) plus nonstop activities and fantastic restaurant-quality dining. Location is great, residents are welcoming, and while the points meal system and special-diet options could be clearer, this is an upscale, active independent-living community I highly recommend.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews of Revel Folsom is strongly positive, with frequent praise for the facilitys resort-style design, comprehensive amenities, and exceptionally warm and attentive staff. Reviewers repeatedly describe the campus as beautiful, modern, and well maintained, with specific features called out such as an oak grove courtyard, patios, balconies, and scenic windows. Apartments range from studios to two-bedroom units and include in-unit conveniences such as refrigerators, washers, and dryers. The property is consistently portrayed as clean, bright, and thoughtfully designed for independent living.

Dining and food service are a central strength reported throughout the reviews. Many reviewers emphasize chef-prepared, restaurant-style meals, varied menu choices, and memorable dishes such as artichoke pasta. Social dining is treated as an amenity in itself, with social hours, wine classes, and multiple on-site dining venues repeatedly noted. That said, several reviewers raised concerns that specialty dietary needs, particularly for diabetes and hypertension, are not always well accommodated and that the communitys point-based meal system can be confusing. Prospective residents with strict dietary requirements should confirm policies and menu flexibility during their tour.

Staff quality and customer service are the most frequently cited positive themes. Multiple staff members and leaders are named and praised for being compassionate, responsive, and hands-on. Examples include sales and move-in staff who facilitate smooth transitions, drivers who assist beyond expectations, and managerial staff who maintain visible, warm leadership. Housekeeping, dining, maintenance, and administrative teams are often described as greeting residents by name and building a family-like atmosphere. Reviewers credit this staff culture with improving residents wellbeing, including increasing social engagement and reversing prior decline in formerly reclusive residents.

The amenity and activity program is broad and well-developed, supporting active independent lifestyles. Key features mentioned include an indoor saltwater pool with water aerobics and water walking, a full fitness center, bocce ball court, theater, salon, massage room, library, and many clubs and cultural outings. Transportation and convenience services are also strong selling points — proximity to shopping and medical facilities, an on-site shuttle, and included Lyft credits are noted repeatedly. Guest suites and the option for part-time residency expand flexibility for families and visitors.

Notable and recurring concerns are specific but important. Several reviews point out inadequate accommodations for medical diets and occasional dissatisfaction with food options for special needs. Some residents and family members raised issues with the pool environment, citing temperature and indoor air circulation. Safety concerns about wildlife on the grounds such as snakes and coyotes were brought up by multiple reviewers and should be checked against property safety measures. Practical accessibility issues were mentioned too, for example, kitchen cabinets mounted too high for some residents. A few reviewers reported administrative or business hiccups including deposit and receipt handling and concerns about management changes; these are less frequent but worth clarifying with management during the decision process.

Other practical considerations emerge from the reviews. The community is positioned as independent living rather than assisted living or memory care, so it suits active seniors who want robust social life and amenities but may not be appropriate for those requiring higher levels of medical or personal care. Some reviewers note that parts of the property were still being completed at times, so prospective residents should verify unit readiness and construction status on a tour. Cost is mentioned as relatively high by some families, consistent with the upscale positioning and extensive amenity set.

In balance, Revel Folsom is repeatedly recommended by reviewers as an excellent option for active seniors seeking a high-end independent living experience with outstanding staff, strong social programming, and resort-like facilities. The strongest selling points are the quality of care in the sense of hospitality and community, the dining and amenities, and the active, welcoming social environment. Prospective residents and families should validate specific operational details that arose as concerns in multiple reviews, namely dietary accommodations for medical conditions, pool environment, wildlife safety policies, certain accessibility features, and any contractual or administrative processes related to deposits and refunds. For independent seniors who prioritize social engagement, high-quality dining, and a modern, maintenance-free lifestyle, Revel Folsom appears to be a very strong fit; those with specialized medical dietary needs or requiring assisted living services should confirm fit before committing.

    About Revel Folsom

Revel Folsom sits east of Sacramento, right in Folsom, California, close to Lake Natoma and Folsom Lake, and you'll see mature oak trees all around with nice views of the Sierra Nevada foothills and downtown Sacramento, so it's the kind of place that gives you scenery along with comfort, with 166 apartment-style units for people 55 and older who want independent living or need some care as they age and situations change. The community includes assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, independent living, and options as a continuing care retirement community, which means it has places set aside for people with Alzheimer's or dementia and on-site support for daily activities if someone needs extra help, and the staff use specific terms like "assisted living," "memory care," "skilled nursing," "independent living," and "continuing care retirement community," just so people can understand what's available without confusion.

You'll find Revel Living here, which is a lifestyle built on wellness with four pillars-most folks like the idea because it covers more than just medical care and looks at every part of daily life, and there's a membership model that covers an apartment, access to dining, programs, a Travel Club, a 24-hour concierge, and cleaning every week, so families know what's covered. Apartments come with open floor plans, in-unit washers and dryers, and nice finishes like quartz countertops, stainless-steel appliances, and upgraded lighting, and many units let in a lot of natural light, while living rooms make it comfortable for guests or family to visit.

Residents like the different services, whether they need help with daily living, memory care, skilled nursing, home care, hospice, or just want to keep active with less stress, and for people looking ahead to changes, there are simple planning tools and information about long-term care insurance, house sales, veterans benefits, and how to start thinking about senior care planning. All the buildings, including one with four stories, one at three or four stories, and a two-story clubhouse, connect so everything's close, indoor and outdoor, and you'll see modern touches throughout-fitness studio, salon, spa, art studio, and club rooms, plus a big indoor swimming pool and tennis courts outside if you like being busy and social.

You can pick from several dining rooms including a private space or eat at home if you want something quieter, and monthly dining credits let everyone use the restaurants or grab a bite when it suits them, and there's cable or satellite TV in the common areas and mailboxes for personal use. Staff handle housekeeping and maintenance every week, utilities are included, and there's group and private transport for trips to doctor's appointments, shopping, or outings, all arranged by the on-site 24-hour concierge, who also helps residents get involved with social events, games, and trips.

Amenities support a worry-free lifestyle, and outdoor spaces, a garden, and walking areas mean residents can enjoy fresh air, while the Discovery Room, media lounge, state-of-the-art fitness center, and wellness center offer plenty to do, whether you're into arts and crafts, music, cooking, reading, or want to join in on seasonal and spiritual events. There are on-site shops for small errands, salon services for keeping up appearances, and volunteer opportunities for those who want to stay active in the community.

The focus is on simple and safe living, so every person, whether living independently or needing more help, finds daily life manageable with help from trained staff, and the goal is just to let people age with dignity and do the things they still enjoy, choosing from fitness programs, group games, tech activities, field trips, and support with daily needs. Revel Folsom doesn't miss out on the things that make life more enjoyable-friendship, good food, nature, activities, and clear options for whatever level of care someone needs next.
