    About Sunrise of Carmichael

Sunrise of Carmichael sits just outside Sacramento in a quiet spot with two-story, warm-toned buildings and bright blue skies, and you'll see a welcoming entryway with rocking chairs and gardens filled with blooming flowers. Residents can choose from studio, 1-bedroom, or 2-bedroom suites, all with private baths, kitchenettes, air-conditioning, cable, Wi-Fi, and telephone, and people say the rooms feel safe, peaceful, and home-like, with patterned bedspreads, bedside tables, nice lamps, and window views. Inside you'll find a grand staircase in the lobby, a reception desk, a small library, and gathering rooms like the morning room, model room, and lounge with armchairs and warm lighting, and on the second floor there are plush armchairs, games, and places to do puzzles, plus a cozy bistro with counter service, comfortable seats, and warm decor. There's a private dining room, restaurant-style meals prepared by a chef using fresh, seasonal ingredients served in rooms with large windows, tables set for residents, cheerful décor, and sometimes even piano music, and meals can be changed for low-sodium, low-sugar, vegan diets or diabetes, with guest meals and private dining available.

The outdoor spaces are nice too, with shaded porches, landscaped gardens, and an enclosed patio where people and their pets can relax, since Sunrise of Carmichael is pet friendly, letting residents keep their dogs and cats if they want, and there are walking paths in the garden for outings or quiet time. The community offers a mix of independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care, so people can stay as care needs change, and residents get help with daily activities like bathing, dressing, and medication, with staff and nurses on site all day and night, including RNs, LPNs, and medication managers.

For people living with Alzheimer's and dementia, Sunrise of Carmichael runs the Reminiscence Neighborhood for moderate to advanced memory loss, the Terrace Club for the early stages of memory issues, and Edna's Place for advanced stages of memory loss, keeping the areas secure with locked doors, a wandering alert system, and bracelets with alarms to keep people safe, and they're staffed by caregivers who understand difficult or unusual behaviors. Activities happen every day and include brain fitness, trivia, art, stretching classes, yoga, gardening, karaoke, educational talks, and outings to places outside the community, plus there are religious and meditation programs, guest speakers, and visiting specialists like dentists, podiatrists, therapists, and nutritionists. People can use the beauty salon, fitness room, swimming pool, games room, and computer center, and the community sets up both scheduled trips and resident-run activities to help people stay busy and make friends.

Transportation is arranged for medical visits or shopping, and staff assist with adjusting care as health needs change, offering things like wound care, rehabilitation, hospice services, and respite for short stays, and behavioral care for those who need extra help. The community is wheelchair accessible, welcomes both men and women, and offers programing tailored to each person's needs so residents feel like family and are treated with dignity and respect. Concierge service helps with special requests and staff keep things clean and residents looking neat, while outdoor smoking is allowed. The grounds are calm and well-kept, and after more than 35 years, Sunrise of Carmichael keeps focusing on safety, comfort, and routines that bring both structure and community for seniors at many stages of life.

    About Sunrise Senior Living

Beginning with a single community in 1981, there are now more than 280 Sunrise Senior Living communities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Each of our communities maintains the mission laid out by Sunrise founders Paul and Terry Klaassen more than 40 years ago: to champion quality of life for all seniors. The Klaassens’ vision to redefine senior care resulted in a resident-centered approach to care that focuses on the individuality of each resident and has set the standard in the assisted living industry. We are defined by our people. Our team of serving hearts are guided by our mission, Principles of Service and Values – all of which help encourage independence, preserve dignity and enable freedom of choice for each resident.
