    Homey community attentive compassionate staff

I placed my mom at The Harvest and have been very pleased. It's a small, homey community of about 30 residents with gated grounds, clean common areas, delicious homemade meals, and engaging activities run by a dedicated activities director. The staff - especially the administrator and caregivers - are attentive, compassionate, and accommodating to families; good value and I would recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Harvest at Fowler is described as a small, home-like assisted living community with a strong emphasis on personalized caregiving and a well-kept physical environment. Reviewers frequently highlight the facility’s cleanliness, organized common areas, recent cosmetic updates, and secure, enclosed grounds. The community’s scale—around thirty residents—contributes to an intimate atmosphere and frequent mention of staff familiarity with residents.

Care quality and staff: Care is consistently characterized as compassionate and attentive. Families and residents describe caregivers as respectful and willing to go beyond routine tasks; administrative staff, including the administrator and receptionist, receive positive mentions. The facility coordinates physician visits and accommodates hospice needs. Memory-care support is available on-site, but reviewers indicate that residents with higher-acuity clinical needs may require additional services or one-on-one care that is provided at extra cost.

Dining and activities: Dining receives favorable comments for variety, homemade-style meals, seasonal produce, and a large menu. The dining space is reported as large, open, and well-lit. An active activities program with a dedicated activities director and staff is a recurring positive; reviewers note engaging day-to-day programming. On-site conveniences such as a salon and assistance with personal hygiene and clothing purchases are cited as value-adding services.

Facilities and accommodations: Interior spaces are generally praised as clean and well maintained, with features such as built-in storage, closets, patios, and covered outdoor seating. Room configurations include private and semi-private options, and residents may bring personal furniture. At the same time, the building is described as older and not high-end; this aligns with comments about modest finishes and occasional variability in appearance across spaces.

Management, communication, and billing patterns: While many reviewers commend the staff and administrative responsiveness, recurring concerns center on financial transparency and family communication. There are specific complaints about third-party charges tied to arranging visits and a desire for clearer disclosure of fees. Some families also indicate room for improvement in ongoing communication and updates about residents. These operational areas appear to be the primary negatives cited alongside the facility’s smaller scale and limited in-house clinical capacity.

Overall impression: Harvest at Fowler appears to be a well-kept, small-scale community that emphasizes compassionate, personalized care, active programming, and basic on-site services. It may suit prospective residents and families seeking a home-like environment with strong staff engagement and a modest price point. Prospective families should weigh the facility’s limited high-acuity clinical capacity and ask for explicit billing and communication policies during their tour to ensure those operational areas meet their expectations.

    About Harvest at Fowler

Harvest At Fowler, operated by Serenity Senior Living and locally managed through experienced Harvest staff, sits in Fowler as a senior living community offering both assisted living and memory care with a focus on personalization and support. The facility has 28 assisted living suites with a range of apartment sizes, including private and semi-private rooms, where each room offers wall-to-wall carpeting, a private bathroom, climate control, window coverings, and options for cable/satellite TV and Internet/Wi-Fi, and the community keeps things well-lit and clean in both indoor and outdoor common areas, so it feels welcoming and safe. Residents get three chef-prepared meals every day in a communal dining environment, and guest meals are available too, which helps bring people together for eating and conversation, and staff help make sure the meals are nutritious and tasty, keeping local traditions of gracious hospitality in mind.

Assisted Living at Harvest At Fowler supports daily activities like bathing, dressing, mobility, and medication management, while caregivers remain on site 24 hours a day with emergency pull-cords in each bedroom and bathroom, so families can feel reassured about prompt help if someone needs it. The staff, trained and friendly, offer help when needed but encourage everyone to stay as independent as possible, making sure to respect each person's choices and needs, and they also offer hospice services for people who need palliative or end-of-life care. The community's Memory Care services give extra attention and custom programs for residents with dementia, focusing on safety, cognitive health, and creating a calm daily routine.

Smoking isn't allowed in any private or public indoor areas, and pets are welcome with some rules, which adds to the comfort for many residents who count on their companions. Residents also find convenience in on-site services like a beauty salon and grooming support, and they enjoy laundry, linen, home maintenance, and housekeeping services without having to worry about chores. For spirituality, Harvest At Fowler provides devotional and religious services on site and off site, including VA aid assistance, trying to meet the spiritual needs of everyone in the building. Transportation comes complimentary and can be arranged for doctor appointments, shopping trips, and community outings, with regular activities planned both on and off the property through a busy social calendar with things like sing-alongs, games, arts and crafts, music, educational programs, Tai Chi, and facilitated outings for those who want to participate.

Each week, residents can find engaging activities designed to support physical, emotional, and social wellness, and caregivers work closely with families and healthcare providers to get the care and activities right for each person. There's a library for quiet reading, a beauty salon for personal care, plenty of bright spots for sitting with visitors, and even a gated facility for added security. The Harvest At Fowler offers options for fitness, group worship, local entertainment, and more, all carefully coordinated by engaged staff who know the community well. Guests and residents have access to parking, and there's always someone available to speak English for support any time of day or night. Suites and services are licensed under State License 107208918.

People can take virtual tours of the property, look at photo galleries, or read updates and stories from the facility's blog when the website's available, though sometimes technical issues like the recent server error can prevent access. Families often mention the comfortable atmosphere, good food, well-kept common areas, and the helpfulness of the staff, and with a choice of floor plans and safety features in place, Harvest At Fowler gives seniors a community with care, connection, and support for daily living without being too large or impersonal.
