    Clean welcoming facility, compassionate staff

I had a very positive experience at this clean, spacious, and welcoming facility - rooms smelled fresh, felt comfortable, and the calm, home-like atmosphere helped me rest and feel safe. The staff were knowledgeable, compassionate, and easy to talk to (administrator Lacy Vincent's hands-on leadership stood out); caregivers were attentive, meals were home-cooked and tailored to needs, OT/PT onsite helped me regain mobility and transition back to independent living, and communication was consistently good. I would recommend this place for thoughtful, respectful care.

    Summary of reviews

Anastasia - Home Care for the Elderly, Board Care presents a mixed but generally positive picture. Many families and residents praised the staff’s compassion, professionalism, and hands-on leadership; reviewers consistently describe a clean, home-like environment with comfortable, spacious rooms. The facility’s onsite occupational and physical therapy services receive strong positive comments, with tangible rehabilitation outcomes reported — several residents regained mobility and were supported in transitions back to independent living. Management presence and staff education were highlighted as strengths, and social programming and varied activities contributed to a reassuring atmosphere for many residents.

Clinical-care reports are mixed. While many reviewers experienced attentive nursing and effective therapy, others described lapses in clinical oversight, including inconsistent nurse visit frequency and uneven medication administration or refill handling. There is at least one serious account of a catheter complication that resulted in internal injury and a subsequent transfer to another facility; this individual claim underscores the need for families to review clinical protocols and incident response procedures during intake and discharge planning. Related operational issues include medication supply continuity problems and occasional needs for additional training on medical equipment such as oxygen delivery systems.

Operational and administrative issues also appear as recurring themes. Communication gaps were noted around discharge processes and medical-billing follow-through, and some reviewers reported difficulties obtaining post-discharge documents. Night-shift staffing levels were called out as insufficient in a few accounts, which may affect responsiveness during evening hours. Environmental-safety maintenance gaps were mentioned (for example, nonfunctional call systems and unsecured electrical outlets/cables), suggesting the facility should be evaluated closely for maintenance practices and routine safety checks.

Dining and social programming receive largely favorable comments — many reviewers praised home-cooked, diet-tailored meals and an engaging social environment — though a minority described limited or inconsistent meal quality. Prospective residents and families should assess meal variety and special-diet accommodations during a visit. Overall, the facility shows clear strengths in staff compassion, cleanliness, rehabilitation services, and leadership engagement, but there are identifiable operational weaknesses around medication management, clinical oversight, safety maintenance, and administrative follow-through. Visitors should observe staffing patterns (including nights), review medication and equipment protocols, and clarify discharge and billing procedures before admission.
