    About Grace Home

Grace Home sits in Livingston, California, and has a long history, starting way back in 1958 with just 15 residents, but over the years it's grown to hold 33 people needing skilled care, and they've been working on expanding even more, trying to add 27 new beds and fix up the older rooms because some of the buildings are getting a bit old and dated, you see. The place is run by the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, and they've made it a point to keep it a 501(c)(3) non-profit, which means they're usually putting what they get back into the place, like different capital projects or simple improvements that matter, like more comfortable private rooms in the future. Grace Home likes to keep things feeling homey rather than institutional, and they do that with things like a full daily activity schedule, group singing twice a week, and having visiting choirs come in twice a month, and you'll find chaplains nearby if anyone needs counseling or spiritual support, especially with regular Sunday chapel services happening in partnership with Livingston Mennonite Church.

People living there get daily meals that a registered dietitian plans to keep everybody healthy, and if anyone enjoys a treat or socializing, there's a coffee bar for hot and cold drinks, outdoor dining when the weather's nice, and even catfish dinners or Tri-Tip nights with plenty of sides, and they hold fundraising dinners and bake sales for the community, which makes it feel lively and brings people together. They've got group activities and programs every day to help residents stay active-both mentally and physically-alongside the practical needs like housekeeping and laundry, so life's not too burdensome. Health care's a big focus here, so there's always 24/7 staff ready for nursing care, medication management, and help with daily needs, whether folks are there for a long stay or just need respite while recovering from something like an injury or surgery, and if someone needs a dentist, optometrist, or podiatrist, or even lab work done, those services come on-site so residents don't have to travel out. There's a beauty and barber salon, which is nice for keeping up with personal care, and the staff shows understanding and professionalism in all the little day-to-day things, and the place tends to get high marks for being very clean and organized.

Grace Home works hard to create a peaceful, faith-based atmosphere, focusing on compassion, dignity, and respect in the way they care for elders, aiming for a private and comfortable feeling in their rooms, and they've got plans for even more, like the Grace Garden Apartments, which are seven two-bedroom spots for retirees, and talk of extra independent living spaces for people over 55 who want to be part of the community-though right now there's a waiting list if you'd like to move in. They're pretty committed to offering help not only to the residents but to the broader community, supporting families and friends and keeping everyone in the loop, and they've got the Grace Home Foundation to help with fundraising and managing those bigger projects. All in all, Grace Home offers a mix of skilled nursing, memory care, and rehab services in a place that values both comfort and good company, right there in a peaceful setting close to local restaurants, parks, and the rest of Livingston, California.
