    Welcoming community with excellent amenities

I'm very happy with this community. The staff are warm, helpful, and welcoming; the food is very good and three meals (plus utilities in many plans) are included; housekeeping and linen service are reliable. Apartments are clean, spacious, and well kept, and the property has great amenities - courtyard walking paths, elevators, on-site laundry, activity rooms, exercise classes, bus outings and plenty of social events. Convenient location near shopping and a friendly, homey atmosphere make it a place I'd recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Solstice Senior Living at Lodi is described by reviewers as a community with a warm, social atmosphere and a strong program of activities. Residents and families frequently praise staff friendliness, the welcoming culture, and a dense calendar of programs — reviewers mention multiple daily activity choices, exercise classes, games (cornhole, chair volleyball, unique bingo variants), pool and table games, and regular bus outings. The community’s physical amenities receive positive comments: restaurant-style dining rooms, a movie theater, exercise room, library, game room, courtyard with walking paths, elevators, and ample nearby shopping and services.

Staff and care quality are commonly highlighted as strengths. Many reviews describe staff as attentive, kind, and accommodating; several families credit staff with helping new residents acclimate and with going beyond expectations on cost or care coordination. That said, there are repeated operational concerns around staffing stability and coverage: reviewers describe high turnover, periods with limited personnel, and particular gaps in overnight and after-hours caregiving. The facility functions primarily as independent living; families looking for higher-level assisted-care services should verify the scope of on-site clinical support and confirm any extra charges for night or supplemental caregivers.

Dining experiences are notably mixed. A number of reviewers praise included meals, table service, and a diverse menu with restaurant-style presentation. Conversely, other families report inconsistent food quality, simplified offerings in recent periods, and occasional issues with meal preparation and side pairings; some would prefer more creative desserts and more flexible dining hours or on-demand dinner options. Overall the community provides multiple daily meal services included in rent, and some find the food to be a strong point while others find it variable.

Facilities themselves present a blend of updated and dated areas. Many residents describe bright, spacious apartments with newer carpets or carpet-free units, roomy bathrooms, good storage, and in-unit kitchenettes (sink, apartment refrigerator, counter space). The community is undergoing remodeling, which some find promising for long-term value; however, renovation activity and some deferred maintenance have been disruptive for a subset of residents. Sanitation and cleanliness receive both strong praise and specific criticism: while numerous reviewers describe clean common areas and regular housekeeping and linen service, others note cleanliness and odor concerns in certain apartments or parts of the main building. Maintenance responsiveness is another recurring theme — delayed repairs and inconsistent follow-up have been described.

Management and communications show a similar pattern of strengths and weaknesses. Several reviewers commend on-site leadership and a supportive, family-like culture; others describe inconsistent communication, lack of follow-up from management, and instances where pre-move representations (for example, promised equipment or the level of care available) did not align with residents’ experiences. Pricing is generally presented as all-inclusive for independent living units (rent examples around $2,500 were cited), with some units and assisted-level options reaching higher monthly rates; pet fees and military discounts are available.

Taken together, Solstice Senior Living at Lodi is often a good fit for older adults seeking an active, socially engaging independent-living environment with included meals, numerous activities, and a friendly staff. Prospective residents and families should verify the current status of renovations, ask specifically about overnight and after-hours caregiving coverage, confirm what is included versus extra-cost care, and inspect unit-level cleanliness and maintenance responsiveness before moving in to ensure the community matches their clinical and lifestyle needs.

About Solstice Senior Living at Lodi

Solstice Senior Living at Lodi is a three-story community managed by Provincial Senior Living, and there are 104 residences with choices like studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments, and private cottages. Most people living here choose independent living as the main option, which works well for active, healthy seniors, but there are also assisted living services with things like weekly housekeeping, scheduled transportation, emergency call systems, and in-home help with daily tasks if needed. The building has spaces like a lobby, game room, chapel, and dining room, plus cozy nooks and areas for activities, and each living unit comes with a kitchenette, private bathroom, climate control, emergency pendant system, and the bundled utilities, cable, and Wi-Fi that help keep life easy. Memory care is available for those with Alzheimer's or dementia, using design that helps reduce confusion and prevent wandering, and nursing and continuing care services can be arranged. Residents use on-site amenities like a beauty salon and barber, fitness center, laundry and housekeeping, library, and game lounges, and there are indoor and outdoor spaces for sitting together or walking the landscaped paths. Meals matter to people, and here chef-prepared, restaurant-style meals come three times a day in a dining room with a fireplace, with a refreshment bar offering grab-and-go choices. The community offers plenty of activities, some run under names like Vibrant Life and Path to Wellness, so people can choose from fitness classes, yoga, gardening, book and bridge clubs, arts and crafts, wine tastings, and movie nights, or take local outings, and this helps folks stay active and meet others. Pets are allowed, parking is available, and both male and female residents can live here, and there's help for daily needs or personal care if it's ever required. Staff keep the place clean and stay pleasant with residents and there's always 24-hour access to urgent care using telehealth services. People who move here often say they like being able to just focus on their interests and enjoy retirement while most of the little daily chores-laundry, cleaning, meals, and all those trivial things-are taken care of for them. The schedule stays full with things like painting lessons, entertainment, daily exercise, and other activities designed to keep the mind and body engaged, and personal care plans let people get the level of support and activity that fits them best.
