    Welcoming spotless facility with activities

I stayed for two years and found the staff welcoming and respectful, the rooms pleasant and spotless, and the location beautiful and conveniently near my daughter. The elderly-focused gym, daily chair exercises, mind games, weekly movies, monthly opera, nice courtyards, good meals and outings kept me active and social - I highly recommend it.

    About Palace of Joy

Palace of Joy sits in Reseda, California and holds a license as a Residential Care Home for the Elderly, fitting up to six residents in a setting that feels more like a home than a big facility, and you'll see private apartments where people can have privacy but can come together for meals and activities in central dining rooms, whether they like to eat with others or have room service brought in, and while the day goes on, there's a lot happening-exercises and wellness programs, memory care support, arts and crafts, games, hobbies, guest meals, swimming in the pool, and more, with outings and life-enriching events that let you connect with others or keep busy however you want, and there's a garden outside and even a computer room plus places to enjoy music, reading, or tabletop games. People can bring their own kitchen appliances into their units, and with Wifi, cable or satellite TV, and parking for guests, it tries to cover a lot of daily needs, and for those who need it, support comes with daily living tasks like bathing, eating, dressing, transfers, and also medication management and health monitoring, with healthcare staff around and emergency call systems in every apartment and all the common areas, and the place takes safety and supervised care seriously, with 24-hour supervision and security, lots of attention to housekeeping, laundry, and linen services to keep everything neat, and help for medical appointments and other trips outside. Residents can get personal care, dietary accommodations if needed, and there's also help with short-term stays under their respite care option. The staff follow California's regulations, and if something needs improvement, they encourage residents to say so and want them to have a say in making day-to-day life better. Sometimes, they have visits from officials for licensing or complaints, and there've been a few investigation visits in the past, but the place still holds an active license. For people in different situations, they handle assisted living, memory care, nursing care, independent living, and even continuing care for those who want support over time, including support during hard times under what they call the Legend Associate Care Program, and while it says it allows pets, another part says pets aren't permitted, so it's best to ask before making plans to move in with an animal. Palace of Joy handles payments by check, insurance, and Medicare, and offers home sale assistance for residents needing to transition from their own house. With a swim in the pool, a safe and clean apartment, scheduled activities, community events, and someone to help with medical or daily care with kindness, most people will find what they need handled in a plain, unhurried way at Palace of Joy.
