    Warm professional care for family

I'm very pleased with Franciscan Healthcare - the staff at every level were genuinely caring, attentive and treated my loved one like family. The building was clean and welcoming, with excellent rehab and memory-care teams, engaging activities, a nice fenced outdoor area and even a bird terrarium; meals were good and staff responded promptly to needs. Overall a warm, professional place where I felt my family member was well cared for.

    Summary of reviews

Reviewers describe a facility with clear strengths in personalized care and rehabilitation alongside concerning operational inconsistencies. Many families and residents praise the staff for warm, family-style interactions; bedside caregivers, CNAs, and the therapy team receive recurrent commendation for attentive, supportive care and effective post-acute recovery programs. The center’s memory-care unit and rehabilitation services are frequently highlighted as high-quality, with staff noted for keeping residents engaged and preparing them for discharge in a coordinated way.

At the same time, reviews identify several facility-level weaknesses that prospective families should consider. Staffing and responsiveness are uneven: while some shifts are described as very attentive, others show delays in attending to basic needs and emergency incidents. Reviewers raised broader concerns about supervision, incident prevention, and the tone of staff communication; a small number of serious, isolated incidents were described that prompted external reporting and legal follow-up, which reviewers say require investigation and clearer escalation processes. Communication with physicians and consistent handoffs across shifts were also cited as areas for improvement.

Dining and activities present a mixed picture. Meal presentation and certain menu items receive positive comments, but others characterize food quality as inconsistent and desire greater variety and fresher fruit options. The activities program is a relative strength in many accounts: music, games, and small-group activities, plus an enclosed outdoor area and a bird terrarium, contribute to resident engagement. However, activity frequency and variety may be limited for some residents or units.

The physical plant is described as clean overall but aged; many reviewers appreciate cleanliness and maintenance work, while others note odor or sanitation concerns in specific areas and call for cosmetic updates (curtains, paint) and modernization of amenities. Management and leadership receive mixed but largely positive feedback — families often describe administrators and unit supervisors as helpful and communicative, and the center’s pandemic response and infection-control measures have been favorably noted. At the same time, a management transition and questions about how serious incidents are handled have contributed to skepticism about prior high ratings.

Notable patterns: consistent praise for compassionate caregiving and effective rehabilitation contrasts with recurring operational issues — inconsistent staffing, supervision gaps, food variability, and older facilities. Prospective residents and families may find this facility strong for short-term rehab or memory-care needs when therapy and attentive staff are present, but should ask targeted questions about staffing levels, incident escalation procedures, physician communication, and recent regulatory or investigative findings when evaluating long-term placement decisions.
