    Outstanding compassionate care, clean home

I placed my uncle at Friendly Care Home and I'm so grateful - the staff are outstanding: kind, respectful, long-tenured, attentive and always responsive, with the owner actively involved. The home is sparkling clean, safe and nurturing, with spacious private rooms, beautiful outdoor areas and a vegetable garden (plus friendly animals). Meals are fresh, home-cooked and nutritious (they even bake bread), communication is excellent, and the team provided compassionate hospice advocacy and adaptable care as needs changed. Five stars - I highly recommend Friendly Care Home.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: Reviews of Friendly Care Home II are overwhelmingly positive, with family members and visitors consistently praising the quality of care, the staff, and the homelike environment. The dominant themes across the summaries are outstanding, compassionate caregiving; excellent and timely communication with families; a clean, attractive facility; and high-quality, home-cooked meals. Multiple reviewers explicitly recommend the home and cite long-tenured staff and multi-year resident stays as evidence of stable, reliable care.

Care quality and staff: The strongest and most repeated theme is the caliber of the caregiving team. Reviewers describe staff as outstanding, compassionate, attentive, and respectful. Several comments note that caregivers are understanding of hearing and cognitive decline, able to adapt care as needs change, and communicate compassionately with family members during difficult decisions. The owner is repeatedly described as engaged, accessible, and hands-on, and staff longevity is highlighted as a marker of consistency. Families emphasize feeling that their loved ones are "in good hands," and multiple accounts specifically call out hospice advocacy and the home's ability to support end-of-life care — including help with hospice coordination and paperwork.

Communication and responsiveness: Excellent communication is another consistent strength. Reviewers report prompt and thorough updates from staff and the owner, noting that concerns are addressed quickly and questions are answered. This responsiveness contributes to family members' trust and peace of mind, and is cited alongside concrete examples such as assistance with insurance paperwork and proactive coordination with hospice teams.

Facilities and environment: The physical environment is described as clean, updated, and homelike. Private, spacious rooms are noted frequently; specific comforts such as side-by-side recliners are mentioned, indicating attention to resident comfort and family visitation. Outdoor spaces receive positive attention — reviewers mention covered and uncovered patios, a vegetable garden, seasonal decor, and a generally beautiful outdoor area. The presence of chickens, a cat, and a dog outdoors is repeatedly noted, contributing to a rural, home-like ambiance that some families appreciated.

Dining and household features: Meals are highlighted as a clear strength. Reviewers emphasize thoughtfully prepared, home-cooked meals using fresh, nutritious ingredients and even specifically mention fresh-baked bread. Homemade food and seasonal touches are recurrent positives that reinforce the home's private-residence feel. The facility is also described as consistently sparkling clean and well maintained.

Care coordination and specialized support: Several reviews stress the home's ability to work with hospice and to advocate for residents' changing needs. Families appreciated staff who could support end-of-life decisions and coordinate with outside providers. Reviewers also mention help with paperwork and insurance, showing that the home extends support beyond daily caregiving into administrative and logistical assistance.

Activities and social programming: The reviews provide limited, mixed information about organized activities. One reviewer specifically noted that activities were "unknown" in their case due to the resident's illness, suggesting that activity visibility or offerings may not be prominent in every family’s experience. While the outdoor areas, garden, and seasonal decor imply opportunities for outdoor engagement, explicit descriptions of structured activity programs, therapies, or social schedules are sparse in the provided summaries.

Potential concerns or limitations: Explicit negative feedback is minimal in these summaries. The two modest concerns that appear from the content are (1) lack of clear information about the extent of organized activities or programming for residents — reviewers did not frequently cite formal activities — and (2) the presence of outdoor animals (chickens, cat, dog), which some families may find charming but could be a drawback for residents with allergies, fear of animals, or those preferring an environment without animals.

Overall assessment: Based on the collected summaries, Friendly Care Home II presents as a small, well-run, homelike residential care setting with an emphasis on personalized, compassionate caregiving, excellent family communication, solid hospice and end-of-life support, and high-quality homemade meals. The facility’s cleanliness, private rooms, and attractive outdoor spaces further strengthen its appeal. Prospective families who prioritize individualized attention, strong staff continuity, and a home-like atmosphere are likely to view this facility very favorably. Families seeking detailed information about structured activities or those with concerns about outdoor animals should ask direct questions during tours to confirm fit and programming availability.
