    Neglectful, unsafe care; poor communication

I placed my loved one here and have been very disappointed. Communication is nonexistent - voicemail won't accept messages, calls go unanswered (even from hospitals), and nurses are inattentive; emergency responses were delayed and a resident was injured. The facility smells and is poorly cleaned, and management mostly turns a blind eye. A few staff are friendly and parts look well kept, but overall the care is neglectful and unsafe - it shouldn't be in business.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in these reviews is strongly negative, with multiple reviewers describing serious problems in care delivery and responsiveness. The most frequently cited theme is neglectful or poor-quality nursing care: staff are described as inattentive or neglectful, and reviewers explicitly state that residents experienced inadequate treatment. Several comments assert that care standards are so low that the facility "should not be in business" or should be "closed down," indicating a high level of dissatisfaction and concern from reviewers.

Safety and emergency response are prominent concerns. Reviews mention delayed responses to emergencies, staff delays, and at least one account of resident injury. In addition to slow emergency reaction, reviewers report that the facility is unresponsive to external medical communications — for example, failing to respond to hospital calls — which compounds safety risks and raises concerns about continuity of care and timely medical attention.

Cleanliness and the physical environment are problematic in multiple accounts. Reviewers note a bad smell and poor cleanliness, suggesting issues with housekeeping or infection-control practices. Although one review praises that the facility is "well kept," the prevalence of complaints about odor and cleanliness indicates inconsistent standards or uneven maintenance across different areas or times.

Staff behavior and interpersonal treatment are mixed but leans negative. While one positive point highlighted is "friendly staff," the dominant reports portray staff as inattentive or neglectful and even describe "inhumane treatment." These statements, combined with allegations that management turns a blind eye, point to systemic problems in supervision, accountability, and staff training or staffing levels.

Management and communication shortcomings are another recurring theme. Reviewers report poor communication, difficulty contacting the facility, and voicemail systems not set up to receive messages. These problems frustrate families and outside providers and impede timely coordination of care. Several reviews explicitly accuse management of ignoring or minimizing serious issues raised by residents and families, which fuels perceptions that problems are tolerated rather than addressed.

The reviews do not provide information about specific aspects such as dining quality or activity programming; those areas are not mentioned in the summaries provided. Given the severity of the care, safety, cleanliness, and communication concerns, any unreported areas (dining, activities, therapy services) would need independent verification before being evaluated.

In summary, the pattern across these reviews is one of serious concern: consistent reports of neglectful nursing care, safety incidents and delayed emergency response, poor cleanliness, and ineffective communication from management. While there is at least one positive note about friendly staff and parts of the facility appearing well kept, the dominant and recurring issues suggest systemic problems that reviewers believe significantly compromise resident well-being and safety. Prospective residents and families should seek direct, up-to-date evidence of improvements, request documentation of staffing and incident response protocols, and consider independent inspections or alternative facilities given the nature and severity of the complaints.

    About All About Seniors

All About Seniors - Walnut Street in Red Bluff, California, is a small, licensed senior living community with 15 beds that helps older adults who want to stay independent but need some help. Folks there can get assisted living, memory care for dementia or Alzheimer's, and skilled nursing care, plus options for respite, hospice, or palliative care if needed, and it's got a homelike setting with studio rooms, shared dining space, gardens, and walking paths you can enjoy. Staff help with daily needs like bathing, dressing, medication management, and grooming, and they handle laundry, cleaning, and meal preparation, making sure meals are nutritious and suited to special diets. The place has home care choices for those who want help while living at home, and care homes for folks needing more hands-on support, and it also takes care of medical needs for different conditions, including diabetes, cancer, heart disease, and more. Families appreciate that the community hosts outings, movie nights, exercise classes, arts and crafts, and other ways to stay active, all while providing safe transportation to appointments and errands. If you need someone to manage medical appointments or paperwork, they'll pitch in, and caregivers speak English and provide 24-hour supervision, plus there are emergency alert systems for safety. All About Seniors serves women and men, including people under 55 and up to 85 and older, and they welcome everyone-whether you want to live alone, with a spouse or relative, or need a temporary place to recover. Funding can come from private pay, Medicaid, insurance, or other sources, though the community may not take Medicare. The community focuses on a social care model that helps residents stay as independent as possible, with programs and amenities tailored to both active and disabled seniors, and they always try to keep things clean and comfortable, with furnished rooms, telephone connections, hair salons on-site, and friendly staff. The overall feel's relaxed and personal, with staff and residents available to meet during a tour, and the smaller size tends to help staff provide more attention and care.
