    Moved mom pleased with community

I moved my mom here and I'm very pleased overall - friendly, attentive staff and genuine residents make it feel like home. The place is clean and beautiful with a gorgeous dining room, very good kosher meals, weekly maid service, many activities and on-site parties. Helpful entrance staff, shuttle/on-demand rides, underground valet parking and a beauty shop add to the convenience.

    Summary of reviews

Fountainview at Eisenberg Village is described overall as a recently built, well-appointed senior living community with strong hospitality-style amenities. Positive comments emphasize modern, attractive living spaces and a large, well-designed dining room. Dining is repeatedly described as high quality and includes kosher options. The community offers a variety of on-site services — weekly housekeeping, an on-site salon, underground valet parking, shuttle and on-demand transportation — that support resident convenience and independence.

The community’s social life and programming are consistently highlighted as strengths. Reviewers mention an active calendar, frequent on-site parties and catering for events, and a social director who is highly engaged. These features, together with wide, well-lit hallways and clean common areas, contribute to a vibrant, accessible atmosphere for residents who prioritize social engagement.

Care quality and staff performance present a mixed picture. Many accounts describe attentive, respectful frontline staff and good day-to-day caregiving in independent or assisted settings. However, there are reports indicating inconsistent staff conduct and professionalism in some interactions, along with examples of administrative unresponsiveness. More importantly for families considering higher levels of care, several comments indicate that clinical care in the skilled nursing unit is not on par with the community’s other services — a pattern suggesting variability in care quality across different units.

Operational and policy matters are also notable. The community uses a refundable buy-in model but the entrance fee level is high and may be unaffordable for some prospective residents. There are specific concerns about slow processing of move-out deposit refunds and broader administrative responsiveness. The facility’s policy restricting use of non-facility personal aides is another operational characteristic families should assess against their needs.

There are also serious interpersonal concerns that prospective residents and families should investigate further. Reviewers have described incidents that raise issues about staff tone and responsiveness; there are also allegations of discriminatory conduct by staff. These accounts point to variability in the resident experience and suggest it is important to evaluate staff interactions across multiple shifts and to ask about the provider’s handling of complaints and staff training.

For families touring Fountainview at Eisenberg Village, recommended actions include: observe staff–resident interactions during a visit, request recent inspection or quality reports for each level of care, ask for written timelines and procedures for move-out refunds, clarify the external-caregiver policy, and speak with current residents and family members about experiences in the skilled nursing unit. The community’s strong physical assets and social programming make it attractive for those who can meet the financial terms, but due diligence on clinical consistency and administrative responsiveness is advised before committing.

    About Fountainview at Eisenberg Village

Fountainview at Eisenberg Village is a two-story senior living community for adults aged 55 and over, set in a quiet, gated area on the campus of the Los Angeles Jewish Home, and offers a broad range of care and living options all in one place, so you see independent living, assisted living, memory care, short-term rehab, nursing care, and everything in between, with trained staff available around the clock. The apartments range from studios up to two bedrooms, with floor plans from 958 to 1,430 square feet, high ceilings, full kitchens, in-suite laundry, and a feeling of openness, and many have views over nicely landscaped gardens, walking paths, and secure courtyards that are good for strolls or sitting outside in the sunshine. The campus has 24-hour security, a gated entrance, emergency alert systems in each unit, walkable paths, and luxury transportation services so residents can get to appointments, shop, or enjoy nearby museums and entertainment.

Inside the community, you find a comfortable, friendly setting where people enjoy daily meals in either of two dining venues, the gourmet dining room or a casual lounge, with options for special diets, plus daily breakfast and flexible dining choices, and residents do not have to worry about upkeep, as all maintenance, housekeeping, and linen services are taken care of. Social life is always going on with art programs, game days, book discussions, movies in the on-site theater, fitness classes in the state-of-the-art gym, and resident-run activity groups, as well as holiday and cultural events, lectures, and performances in the event center. There's even a beauty salon, a creative arts studio, a business center, and a bar and lounge. The community center holds frequent educational, cultural, and social gatherings, and the staff runs a structured calendar of things to do, so everyone can join in according to their interests. Residents can use individual storage units, a fitness room, garden and spa, plus a sauna and wellness room for relaxation and health.

Health care services are a key part of Fountainview at Eisenberg Village, with the Goldenberg•Ziman Special Care Center and the Joyce Eisenberg-Keefer Medical Center on campus, and the Brandman Centers for Senior Care (PACE) nearby for those in Reseda and West Los Angeles. Assisted living and memory care areas are designed for safety and comfort, with secured outdoor access, specialized staff for dementia care, and nursing and intermediate care for those who need more support, including short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing, palliative, and hospice care. The place is set up to make life easier, with move-in help, transportation and parking services, weekly housekeeping, and a concierge program to help with appointments and outings, and all apartments are maintained by the community so residents don't have to do repairs or outside work.

Life here is built around supporting active and independent seniors, with plenty of opportunities for exercise, creative arts, socializing, and quiet time in the library or gardens, while meals are nutritious and appealing, and special needs can be accommodated. All care is backed by the full services and staff of the Los Angeles Jewish Home, with a family-like community atmosphere that emphasizes dignity, independence, and support throughout all stages of aging. Facilities like the Anneberg School of Nursing, the Levy-Kime Geriatric Community Clinic, and programs like respite stays and flexible care options mean residents can get just the help they need, whether for a short stay or as their needs change over time. The apartments are comfortable, the service is steady, and every detail is aimed at making daily life safe, engaging, and as worry-free as possible for older adults looking for an active and supportive place to live.
