    Caring staff and exceptional amenities

I moved my mom in and couldn't be happier - the staff are genuinely caring, know residents by name, and med techs, dining and cleaning teams are consistent and responsive. The property is beautiful and secure with gardens, a memory-care aviary, large well-appointed apartments, on-site pharmacy/therapy/salon, a movie theater and abundant daily activities and outings. Dining feels restaurant-quality (chef-led) with balanced, senior-sized portions and flexible times, and the free local transportation and attentive management give us real peace of mind.

    Summary of reviews

Oakmont of Roseville is consistently described as a high-end, hospitality-oriented senior living community with substantial amenity and activity offerings. Strengths frequently noted include an engaged, warm caregiving culture, consistent assigned staff in some roles, robust activity programming with live entertainment and frequent outings, restaurant-style dining with chef-driven menus, and a wide array of on-site amenities such as therapy services, a salon, library, movie theater, and landscaped outdoor spaces. The community layout and large apartment sizes are often praised, as are security features and memory-care–specific amenities. Many families described a welcoming, dignified atmosphere and good end-of-life support when needed.

Clinical care impressions are mixed. Several reviewers praised attentive, thoughtful nursing and caregiving; however, there are recurring operational concerns about medication handling, documentation, and clinical oversight. Examples highlighted in reviews include medication-administration lapses and delayed recognition of clinical issues—these point to gaps in medication-management controls and nursing supervision rather than isolated administrative items. A state inspection noted documentation deficiencies in one case, which some families cited when questioning clinical processes. Prospective residents should ask for specifics on medication-safety protocols, pharmacy integration, and recent regulatory findings during a tour.

Staffing and responsiveness are another pattern. While many accounts emphasize compassionate and familiar staff who learn residents' names and preferences, a substantial set of comments describe inconsistent staffing levels, higher turnover among some roles, and slow response times to assistance calls. Those operational traits were associated with delayed bathing or toileting assistance and increased family concern about safety and comfort. Training variability was also mentioned, suggesting that experiences can depend on which specific staff are on duty. Ask about current staff-to-resident ratios, turnover metrics, and orientation/training programs when evaluating the community.

Dining and activities are strong selling points but show variability. The on-site chef and restaurant-style service receive high marks from many families; yet others found meal quality uneven or not aligned with personal preferences. The activity calendar is comprehensive, with many daily options, outings, and holiday programming, although a few families felt scheduled offerings were occasionally overpromised and under-delivered. If dining or program fit is important, arrange sample meals and request a detailed upcoming activities schedule.

Management, pricing, and transparency are mixed themes. The property is positioned at the higher end of the market: reviewers frequently describe it as luxurious and correspondingly expensive. Several families raised concerns about complex billing, frequent fee increases, and opaque charge structures. A few comments referenced operator-level legal or financial disputes; while these are not clinical summaries, they can affect family confidence and warrant direct questions to management. Overall, Oakmont of Roseville appears to offer strong amenities and a compassionate culture for many residents, but prospective residents and families should perform targeted due diligence on medication-safety practices, staffing stability, billing transparency, and recent regulatory history during a visit.

    About Oakmont of Roseville

Oakmont of Roseville sits in Roseville and runs as part of Oakmont Communities, offering a range of senior care options like independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, respite, and hospice care, all on one campus. The staff has an executive director, office manager, marketing coordinator, marketing and sales directors, and a full-time activity director, along with nurses and caregivers who stay on-site 24 hours a day, and there's a doctor on call, so care is always nearby. The community has a secure, purpose-built memory care building for seniors with Alzheimer's or other dementias, with a wander alert system, bracelets to prevent unsafe exits, and special behavioral support for residents who might wander or act out. Apartments come in studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and suite layouts, with roomy bedrooms, large windows, and private or accessible bathrooms with showers and tubs for wheelchair users. Pet care is available, and some residents bring cats and dogs. The dining experience includes a private dining room and an elegant restaurant with a chef-led culinary team, including Chef Rina, who prepares farm-to-fork meals, and the bistro is open for snacks or coffee. Residents can eat anytime, have guest meals, and request special diets like gluten-free, vegan, low-sodium, or low-sugar, and there are special events and holiday decorations, though some celebrations have had limits.

The community has gardens, beautiful grounds, a two-story lobby, and both indoor and outdoor areas for socializing, along with a movie theater with reclining chairs, a popcorn machine, and plush seating, plus a full-service beauty salon and a day spa for relaxation. There's a fitness center with recumbent bikes and weights, and the grounds offer walking paths and resident gardens. Activity programs include arts and crafts, cooking classes, educational talks, Wii Bowling, stretching, gardening, outings, and community service, and the activity director helps residents keep busy and engaged. Wellness and medical support come with on-site nurses and wellness staff, medication management, and a wellness center available, plus behavioral care and support for residents with serious behavior issues. Devotional services are offered both on campus and off.

Oakmont of Roseville allows for aging in place, so residents can stay as their care needs grow or change, and the different units let seniors pick the place that fits best, whether they want independence, help with daily living, or extra care for memory loss. The community's resources help families plan for care, including how to manage costs, and there are reviews, testimonial videos, a gallery with photos, an FAQ section, and tours for people wanting to know more. Common areas support active adults over 55 in maintenance-free living, and there's a warm entryway with landscaped grounds for residents to enjoy. The community focuses on supporting independence, safety, and social living, without being pushy or pretending every day is perfect, but by providing reliable help and a welcoming place to call home.
