About Asbury Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

Asbury Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center sits in Sacramento and has 139 beds, with Medicare and Medi-Cal certification as a licensed skilled nursing facility, and you'll find people there working together to help residents recover and live as well as they can through programs like Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, a Restorative Nursing Program, and an in-house Rehabilitation Program, and they've got a team that brings in pain management specialists, nephrologists, pulmonologists, and wound care experts, which is helpful when caring for folks with complicated health needs. The staff includes top-notch RNs and caregivers who work closely with residents' health care teams to make individual plans, and they're regular about updating care with doctors who come on admission and about every 30 days after, but the team is always keeping in touch with them. The center does a good job at keeping things clean, works hard on infection precautions, and takes pride in giving people a safe place, and when it comes to daily life they've got everything from a monthly activities calendar with karaoke, musical events, outings, movies, candlelight dinners, animal days with pet shop animals, birthday parties, and even private space in their activities lounge for family events if reserved.

The food service staff and a registered dietitian make sure meals meet medical and personal needs, and if someone wants something different, they'll find a way to provide choices, and they wash all laundry in hot water unless a family prefers to take clothes home, and if anybody wanders off-site, all they need is a doctor's okay and to jot it down in the LOA book at the desk. Asbury Park encourages visiting by families, kids (with a heads-up if they're under 12), and even pets as long as they're on leashes and vaccinated, and if folks want, they can coordinate dental, vision, podiatry, psychiatric, and hearing services, or work with the social services department to help out during tough transitions. The center has cable TV and WiFi in the rooms, and encourages residents to bring their own TVs if they'd like, and daily mail is delivered except on weekends and holidays. People stay connected with their healthcare providers because the staff works with hospitals and helps create a smooth path for recovery and return home or to more independent living, and the interdisciplinary team lets residents get the right care if they have complex medical conditions. The building has ample parking, designated smoking areas outside, wheel-chair access, and city parking rules apply, and while it's a non-smoking building, smokers still have spots outside to use.

Residents, both short and long-term, work with therapy staff to set goals for regaining independence and maintaining their quality of life, and therapy isn't reserved for one kind of resident over another, with rehab offered to those newly arrived or settled in for the long haul; everyone gets a tailored plan, and the therapists visit regularly to help each person on their journey. There's an Ombudsman on-site for residents who want a little extra advocacy, and a Business Office Manager deals with billing and admissions if anybody has a question about insurance or paperwork. Families and residents can expect regular social programs, resident councils, entertainment, religious meetings, and even community resources for extra help when needed. The staff at Asbury Park puts effort into providing clear information, a kind atmosphere, and honest care, making sure that nobody feels pushed or rushed, and everybody gets attention based on what matters for their health and happiness.
