    Immaculate caring home for dementia

My mother has been at this beautiful, home-like facility for several months and I'm very happy with the caring, pleasant staff and the immaculate, clean house. She gets one-on-one attention, good meals, and appropriate dementia-focused care with different levels available as needed. I highly recommend this place.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment across the reviews is positive about the basic quality of care, cleanliness, and the atmosphere at Cloe And Erica's Board & Care, but there are notable caveats and variability in individual experiences. Multiple reviewers emphasize that the home is immaculate and has a warm, home-like and attractive environment. Food quality is repeatedly noted as good, and several families report that staff are pleasant, caring, and provide individualized, one-on-one attention. The facility’s ability to provide different levels of care is also mentioned as a strength, and several reviewers strongly recommend the place based on their experiences.

Care quality and staff behavior are central themes. Many reviews praise staff for being attentive and compassionate, with at least one explicit mention of one-on-one attention and others describing staff as caring and pleasant. However, there is an important counterpoint: at least one reviewer said their loved one felt lost in the shuffle, indicating that personalized attention may not be uniformly experienced by all residents. This suggests some variability in how consistently individualized care is delivered—some families see very hands-on, loving care, while others perceive gaps in attention.

Facilities and cleanliness receive consistently positive feedback. The house is described as immaculate and clean in multiple summaries, and reviewers characterize the setting as home-like and beautiful. One practical expectation mismatch appears in the reviews: at least one family expected a private bathroom for their relative and did not get one. That signals that room or bathroom arrangements may differ from what some prospective residents expect, so physical accommodations should be confirmed directly with the facility.

Dining and daily comforts are a clear positive: reviewers mention good meals and a pleasant dining experience. The home-like setting combined with good food contributes to a cozy, residential feel rather than an institutional environment, which reviewers appear to value highly.

Activities and resident mix raise some concerns. A recurring negative theme is insufficient verbal and mental stimulation for some residents. Another pattern is the facility’s apparent focus on a dementia-care population; reviews explicitly describe a dementia-focused clientele and the presence of high-maintenance residents. For families whose loved ones require more cognitively engaging activities or who may be sensitive to a heavier dementia-care environment, this could be a drawback. The presence of high-maintenance residents may also affect the overall atmosphere and staff workload.

Operational issues and availability are additional considerations. One review notes that the transition into the home was difficult, indicating adjustment challenges for some residents and families. Another clear, pragmatic downside is limited availability—several reviewers mention no openings—so placement may require waiting. Taken together, the reviews portray Cloe And Erica's as a clean, well-loved, and highly recommended home by multiple families, particularly praised for staff compassion, individualized care in many cases, and good meals. At the same time, prospective families should be aware of variability in personalization of care, the dementia-focused resident mix, possible shortfalls in cognitive/mental stimulation, potential differences in room/bathroom configurations, and limited openings.

About Cloe and Erica's Board & Care

Cloe And Erica's Board & Care sits in a quiet neighborhood in Santa Maria, providing care in a small private home setting for ten or fewer residents, and folks say the place feels more like a family home than a facility with friendly and helpful staff who pay close attention to the personal needs of each individual, offering things like help with dressing, bathing, grooming, medication, and getting around, plus managing special health needs like diabetes, memory care, and incontinence. The team goes through background checks, driving record reviews, drug screening, immunizations, and other careful steps before coming on board, which gives families some peace of mind, and they all really work together to support each resident. Residents can enjoy group meals with food prepared for specific dietary needs, housekeeping, laundry, transportation to appointments, movie nights, daytime activities, and spending time in cozy living rooms or walking in the gardens and along paths. Community staff offer 24-hour supervision, emergency systems for safety, and coordinate with healthcare providers, all in a tidy and homey place that stays clean and welcoming. The care plans fit each person's needs, and families like that the staff stay in close touch and the place doesn't feel overwhelming. Cloe And Erica's Board & Care covers different types of care, from personal care and respite to higher levels of support when needed, and uses tools for scheduling, assessments, and care management. The main focus always stays on giving a safe, comfortable, and personalized living space, so residents can feel at ease and cared for among a small group of people in Santa Maria.
