    Beautiful welcoming space; mold concerns

I attended the grand opening and was impressed - beautiful, well-laid-out space with an active, welcoming community. The staff were wonderfully friendly, enthusiastic and passionate, which left a very positive impression. That said, I noticed mold damage and unfinished mold repairs (and heard reports of contractor/payment issues), so I'd be excited to join only once those are resolved.

About Santa Rosa Hills Senior Living

Santa Rosa Hills Senior Living sits in Sonoma County, in California's wine country, just south of San Francisco, and has new, state-of-the-art construction with over four acres of carefully designed grounds and gardens, so you'll see flowers, walking paths, and open spaces for sitting outside when the weather's nice. The community offers independent living, assisted living, and Legacies™ Memory Care options, so folks can live as independently as possible but get help when they need it, whether that's support with daily tasks or specialized care for dementia and Alzheimer's. The apartments, like Cloverdale, Cornerstone, Kenwood, Buena Vista, Ledson, Point Reyes, St. Francis, The Cedar, The Cypress, The Oak, The Willow, and Windsor, come as studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms, all pet-friendly, smoke-free, and roomy enough for easy movement and each has a private bathroom, individual thermostat, cable TV, emergency alert system, and most look out over either the gardens or the hills.

There's a Santa Rosa Hills Club, which is an exclusive membership for residents, and they've got a Preferred Members Club with benefits if you reserve an apartment early, so you might get extra activities and perks. The place has what folks call five-star amenities, meaning there's a lot: a movie theater for shows, a full-service salon and spa, a restaurant-style dining room with gourmet meals, and daily activities so no one's bored, whether you want to join a craft project, play a game, or take part in wellness programs. The courtyard's there for short walks, relaxing, or sitting quietly, and the activity centers are good for hobbies and group events.

Heartland™ Assisted Living is the program for those who need help with daily things, and for memory care they offer the Legacies™ Memory Care program, focusing on helping every person keep their abilities as long as they can, in a safe and caring place, and the staff is around 24/7 to help out, with extra support through partnerships with personal care professionals and home care agencies. People recovering from surgery or those whose caregivers need a break can use the short-term respite care and get access to all the features and activities without needing a longer commitment. Residents also get trash, laundry, and linen service, utilities, cable TV, weekly cleaning, and help with apartment upkeep, so there's less to worry about on the practical side.

The grounds are close to Santa Rosa's shops, golf courses, vineyards, and medical offices, making day trips pretty easy. Safety's covered with a 24-hour security system and emergency alert in every room. The team handling all this is part of Pacifica Senior Living, which runs several communities and is known for having specialized care programs and experienced staff who seem to know what they're doing. For employees, there's insurance, paid time off, retirement plans, and training, and the whole place is drug-free and smoke-free. So, overall, Santa Rosa Hills Senior Living is a big community with a resort-style feeling, activities, support, and a focus on helping residents feel at home, safe, and as independent as possible while surrounded by the sights of northern California.

    About Pacifica Senior Living

Santa Rosa Hills Senior Living is managed by Pacifica Senior Living.

Pacifica Senior Living, a division of Pacifica Companies (family-owned since 1978), was founded in 2008 and is headquartered in San Diego, California. Operating over 90 communities across 13-14 states with concentrations in California, Florida, and Arizona, Pacifica has grown to become the 13th largest overall senior care provider in the United States. The company ranks as the 5th largest memory care provider, 10th largest assisted living provider, and 21st largest independent living provider nationally, serving thousands of residents from coast to coast through their comprehensive care offerings.

Pacifica's mission centers on creating a lifestyle of independence, security, and peace of mind for each individual and their family. The company provides personalized, compassionate care services through their signature Heartland™ Assisted Living and Legacies™ Memory Care programs, which focus on the individual while offering customized care plans that respect each resident's needs, preferences, and privacy. Their philosophy emphasizes striking a balance between assistance and independence, providing dignified and compassionate retirement experiences in environments that feel like home. Each community is managed individually, allowing for tailored support of unique resident profiles and communal character, with everything from scheduling to dining menus designed around residents' preferences.

The company's specialized memory care programs demonstrate their expertise in dementia care. Their Legacies™ Memory Care program helps patients with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of memory loss feel safe and secure while providing memory-boosting activities. The innovative Amara Memory Support program creates welcoming and empowering environments that celebrate the essence of people rather than focusing on their diagnosis. Programming encompasses nine Focus Elements of Life: Recreation, Service, Spirituality, Movement, Sensory, Household Connection, Community, Exploration, and Creative Arts, delivered through stimulating activities including gardening, culinary adventures, musical experiences, creative artistic outlets, and mindfulness practices.

Pacifica offers a comprehensive continuum of care including independent living, assisted living, memory care, respite care, skilled nursing, and adult day care services. All communities focus on promoting well-being by meeting care needs while facilitating social interactions, activities, and wellness programs. Despite recent financial challenges leading to the bankruptcy of one management entity affecting approximately 20 California facilities, the majority of Pacifica's nearly 100 communities continue operating, maintaining their commitment to advancing senior living and providing peace of mind to residents and families through warm, family-like communities where each resident receives individualized attention while maintaining dignity and independence.
