    Warm professional care, immaculate facility

I moved my mom here and am very pleased. The staff are warm, professional, and attentive, with clear communication and excellent medication assistance. The facility is immaculate and bright, with studio-2BR options, restaurant-style dining, full salon, theater, shuttle service and many daily activities that keep residents engaged. Transition and care coordination were smooth - my family saw real improvements quickly and we feel very supported. Highly recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Cornerstone Assisted Living presents as a modern, well‑kept community with many features that families value. Reviewers consistently note a clean, bright facility with upscale public spaces — a welcoming lobby, spacious restaurant‑style dining room, theater and activity spaces, and an on‑site salon. Apartment options include studios and one‑ or two‑bedroom layouts, and ancillary services such as shuttle transportation, laundry and housekeeping, and on‑site rehabilitation are highlighted as conveniences that support resident independence.

Care quality and staff performance are central strengths in the reviews. Numerous families praised staff as caring, accommodating, and proactive — with particular appreciation for clinical support, medication assistance, rehabilitation services, and timely responses after emergency visits. Staff members are often described as accessible and communicative, and the community’s family‑owned management style is cited as supportive during complex relocations and out‑of‑state transitions. At the same time, reviewers also raised concerns about staffing stability; turnover and perceived under‑resourcing were noted as factors that can affect continuity of care.

Dining and programming form another prominent theme. The dining environment is frequently praised for ambiance and presentation, and many residents enjoy the menu and restaurant‑style service. However, there are repeated remarks about inconsistent food quality and portion sizes that prospective residents should evaluate in person. The activities program is well developed — with daily programming such as morning stretch classes, bingo, music, games, and social opportunities — and reviewers report meaningful socialization and improvement in mood and mobility for some residents. Off‑site outings and field trips are less frequent, so families who prioritize regular external excursions should ask about the current calendar.

Facility operations and management have mixed notes. The community appears to be conscientious about cleanliness and maintenance, but several reviews point to discrete maintenance or safety‑installation issues (for example, recent carpet work and pull‑cord placement) that would benefit from follow‑up. Policy areas that families found restrictive include visitation rules during infection‑control periods; clarify current policies before moving in. Some families also experienced unexpected contract changes or fee increases, so contract terms and escalation policies should be reviewed carefully.

Overall, Cornerstone is described as a high‑quality, welcoming option for residents who need assisted living level services while retaining independence. The most important considerations for prospective families are to verify the facility’s scope of care (especially for residents with wandering behavior or higher acuity needs), to discuss current staffing levels and turnover, to sample meals and review portioning, and to confirm contract terms and visitation policies. When those items align with a family’s needs, reviewers indicate a high degree of satisfaction with the community’s staff, environment, and programming.

    About Cornerstone Assisted Living

Cornerstone Assisted Living in Vacaville has apartment options like studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units, with some semi-private and pet-friendly choices, oh, and the apartments make space for things like walkers or wheelchairs, and there's good storage so you don't struggle getting to your stuff, plus the bathrooms and showers are set up for safety and easy access, even including benches. The community offers three chef-prepared meals every day in a dining room where everyone eats together, and you see folks using the private dining room for gatherings. You can visit the library that has hundreds of books and reference materials or use the computer room with high-speed internet, or maybe just watch a movie in the theater room, since they show several each day. People go to religious services right onsite and can book haircuts or salon appointments at the full-service salon, where the beautician works regular business hours. The fitness room and personal Whirlpool/Spa room give residents a way to exercise or relax, and the scheduled activities, like bingo, poker, happy hours, and daily exercise sessions, are organized by the full-time activity director, who tries to keep the days busy for those who want it.

There's a secure environment with a very capable and caring staff, and residents have access to exam rooms for routine medical needs, dentist visits, or even massage appointments without leaving the building, and the emergency call system puts call points in bedrooms, living rooms, and bathrooms for quick help if needed at any time, day or night. For those times when you need to go out, Cornerstone provides transportation for errands, medical appointments, and outings, sometimes even taking groups to places like the Jelly Belly Factory, casinos, parks, or museums, which gives you some variety beyond the usual daily routine. The management team here brings over 50 years of combined experience to the job and includes roles like Executive Administrator, Marketing Director, Certified Activities Director, and Community Care Director, which helps keep the place running steady.

Cornerstone Assisted Living supports folks who need help with daily things like bathing, dressing, and medication, or if they want to live more independently but still want the safety net, and there's Alzheimer's Care within the community to help those with memory challenges. The community is licensed for up to 130 residents by the state of California (license number 486803484), and the design tries to give people their own space but also puts plenty of common rooms inside and out, with big TVs, a grand piano, and a fireplace, so you can choose to sit by yourself or spend time with your neighbors and guests. The environment is meant to feel safe, social, and home-like, and the staff, described as friendly and flexible, aims to help residents enjoy comfort, privacy, and a positive outlook while getting the right kind of support each day.
