    Safe, welcoming community; excellent activities

My mom moved into this nearby, spotless new community and it immediately felt like home - safe, warm, and welcoming. The activity program is outstanding (fitness, art, group exercise, games, live music and outings), Enrichment Leader Jocelyn is wonderfully engaging, and their memory care uses new tech with brain-stimulating, individualized activities. Staff are knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely caring (the owner is an Alzheimer's specialist) - my mom made friends quickly and is very happy.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive. Multiple reviewers describe The Ridge at Westlake Village as a beautiful, welcoming, and homelike community with an atmosphere of warmth and belonging. The facility is repeatedly called clean and new, and residents and families emphasize that it feels like home. A consistent theme is rapid social integration — reviewers noted that residents make friends quickly and appear happy and safe there.

Care quality and memory care stand out as key strengths in the reviews. The Ridge is specifically recognized for its memory care program, which incorporates new technology and brain-stimulating activities. Reviewers highlighted that the owner is an Alzheimer’s specialist, which reinforces confidence in the program’s expertise and approach. Comments point to individualized attention and quality care, describing staff as kind, supportive, and delivering family-like care rather than a strictly clinical environment.

Staff and leadership receive frequent praise. Reviewers used terms such as enthusiastic, genuine, and wonderful when describing caregivers and program leaders. Enrichment leadership is singled out by name (Enrichment Leader Jocelyn) and several comments highlight staff-driven programming and individualized engagement. The overall portrait is of a staff team that is invested in residents’ well-being and social engagement.

Activities and enrichment are prominent positives. Reviews list a broad and varied activity calendar: group exercise classes, fitness and art programs, creative activities and games, live music, outings and excursions, and targeted brain-stimulating activities. This variety appears to meet different resident interests and abilities, providing both physical and cognitive engagement. Reviewers commonly said there was “lots to do,” which contributed to residents’ happiness and sense of purpose.

Facilities and atmosphere are described as attractive and comfortable. The community being new and clean contributes to the positive impression. Multiple reviewers remarked on the friendly people and the overall sense that the environment is welcoming and safe. Proximity and location were noted as convenient by at least one reviewer, which can be an important practical factor for families.

Management and administrative notes are mostly positive but include one notable operational limitation: availability. Several reviews conveyed that there was no vacancy at the time of comment, indicating limited immediate availability. The presence of an owner with Alzheimer’s expertise was cited as a reassurance about clinical oversight and program direction. Beyond availability, reviewers did not raise significant administrative or operational complaints.

Dining was not mentioned in the provided summaries. Because there is no direct feedback on meals, food quality, menu variety, or dining service in these reviews, no conclusions about the dining program can be drawn from this data set.

In summary, the reviews paint The Ridge at Westlake Village as a new, well-run community with a strong emphasis on memory care, engaging and varied activities, and a compassionate, individualized staff culture. The main practical concern reflected in the reviews is limited availability; otherwise, families and residents emphasize safety, happiness, and a robust enrichment program led by knowledgeable staff. If considering the community, prospective residents and families should be prepared for potential waitlist situations and may want to ask directly about dining details since those aspects were not discussed in the provided comments.
