    Impressive caring clean active community

I toured the new Lake Balboa facility and was impressed - staff were informative, caring, and knowledgeable, answered every question, and set up personalized 24-hour care plans that gave me real peace of mind. The place is clean and well-kept, food (including an Alzheimer's diet) was excellent, residents are active, and management is responsive; room customization and outings are nice extras. It's expensive but worth it - I'm grateful and highly recommend this top-notch community.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with reviewers repeatedly praising the quality of care, the professionalism of staff, and the condition of the facilities. Multiple summaries highlight a well-kept, clean environment and modern/new facilities (specifically the Lake Balboa location), which many found convenient and reduced travel time for family visits. Reviewers commonly reported concrete health and wellbeing benefits for residents — for example, food and dietary accommodations for Alzheimer's patients and instances where weight and general condition were restored after admission. Several reviewers explicitly recommended the community and described the placement as a positive life change.

Care quality and staffing are the standout themes. Reviews emphasize well-trained, caring, and responsive staff who go above and beyond standard expectations. Commenters highlighted 24-hour availability, personalized care plans, and safety/peace-of-mind for families. Staff professionalism shows up in multiple ways: informative and comprehensive tours, knowledgeable team members who answer questions, thorough daily resident logs, and management that follows through on concerns. Several comments specifically use words like “amazing” and “best service,” indicating a high degree of trust in caregiving and operational follow-through.

Facilities, rooms, and amenities receive consistently favorable remarks. The property is described as top-notch and well-maintained, with clean rooms and attractive common areas such as a liked dining area. Additional conveniences like laundry service, room design customization, decor options, and planned outings (store trips) add to the perceived value. The new Lake Balboa facility was singled out as modern and conveniently located, which some families cited as a decisive factor. Reviewers also appreciated practical systems such as daily logs that keep families informed and management responsiveness when issues arise.

Dining and nutrition are specific strengths in these reviews. Multiple summaries point to good food and the ability to accommodate special diets, including Alzheimer’s-specific needs. Positive outcomes tied to nutrition — like weight restoration — were noted, which supports claims that the dining program is effective and individualized. The dining space itself was called out as pleasant by reviewers, contributing to overall satisfaction.

There are a few recurring concerns to be aware of. Cost is the most frequently mentioned drawback; reviewers described the community as relatively expensive, although several also qualified that expense as "worth it." Some families wanted larger rooms or noted that the available room felt smaller than desired. A couple of comments noted not seeing many other residents or a limited visible social presence during visits, which could reflect quieter common areas or timing of visits rather than a systemic lack of activities. Finally, at least one reviewer felt the community was “okay” but not as strong as another community they had seen, indicating that comparative experiences vary and that prospects should tour multiple options.

In summary, Clarendon Senior Living (Lake Balboa) is portrayed as a high-quality, modern senior living option with strong caregiving, attentive staff, good dining and individualized nutrition plans, and well-maintained facilities. The management practices such as thorough daily logs, informative tours, and responsiveness reinforce family trust. Prospective residents and families should weigh the higher cost against the clear strengths in care, cleanliness, and convenience; also consider confirming desired room sizes and visiting during active hours to assess community engagement and social activity levels. Overall, the dominant pattern in these reviews is satisfied families who value the personalized, round-the-clock care and the attentive, professional staff.
