    Clean compassionate staff; some limitations

I placed my mom here and overall I'm pleased - the building is spotless, staff are incredibly kind, patient and compassionate, and they really spend time with residents. Rooms are private, carpeted, furnished with individual TVs and you can bring furniture; they're small but nicely done. The dining room is pleasant with a varied, generally healthy menu (quality can vary), and tea/family visits are encouraged. There's a full slate of activities (arts, exercise, trips, movie nights, games) and reliable transportation - my mom is happier and more social. Drawbacks: it's expensive, on a busy road, apartment options are limited, and only one shower/week is standard (extra showers cost extra). Overall I'm satisfied with the care and atmosphere.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is largely positive, with multiple families praising the cleanliness, the caring nature of staff, and the variety of social opportunities. Many reviewers describe the facility as "spotless" and consistently clean, with attractive shared spaces and boutique-style finishes that project a pleasant, well-kept environment. The building and grounds are often described as appealing — a big white building in a pleasant, affluent-looking area — and the model and furnished rooms were noted as being nicely done and comfortable by several visitors.

Staff and care quality are among the strongest and most consistent positive themes. Reviewers repeatedly report that staff are polite, kind, compassionate, patient, and helpful. Caregivers are described as spending time with residents, being sweet and personable, and helping residents become more social and happier. Multiple reviews specifically mention family members being pleased with the care their loved ones receive and noting improvements in mood and sociability after moving in. The management and tour experience also come across as positive in several accounts, with helpful tours and staff that make a good initial impression.

Facilities and living accommodations present a mix of strengths and caveats. Private rooms and individual TVs are available and appreciated; residents can bring furniture and there are both furnished and model-room options. Some apartments are carpeted and small in size, and reviewers mentioned limited apartment layout/options. The facility shows signs of age in parts — described as an older building by some — but upkeep appears strong, so the older structure does not consistently translate to poor condition. Location is convenient and accessible, but a few reviewers warned that the facility sits on a busy road that can feel dangerous or noisy.

Dining receives mostly favorable comments, with many reviewers calling the food fresh, healthy, delicious, or varied and praising the dining room experience and two meal sessions. At least one reviewer qualified that the food was "not the best but edible" while noting menu variety. Small touches such as tea during visits were mentioned positively. Overall, dining appears to satisfy most residents, though a minority experience or perception of mediocre meals exists.

Activities and social life are frequently highlighted as a major advantage. Several reviewers list a robust slate of offerings: board and card games, art and dance classes, weekly music, bingo, exercise classes, trivia, movie nights, and frequent outings including movie-theater trips and day trips to places like Malibu. Residents are reported to form friendships, become more social, and enjoy a stimulating daily schedule. That said, there is an important inconsistency: at least one review explicitly stated "no activities," so activity levels may vary by wing, staffing, timing, or between reviewers’ experiences. Many outings and special events are offered but often carry extra costs, which some families flagged.

Cost and fee structure are notable concerns. Multiple reviewers described the community as expensive, and there are specific mentions of extra charges for services some would assume included — notably, additional showers beyond the typical one-per-week standard and fees for off-site trips. Reviewers urged attention to these additional costs. Transparency about what the base fee covers versus what incurs an extra charge appears to be inconsistent across reviews, prompting concerns about value and budgeting for care.

In summary, the dominant pattern is a well-kept, attractive senior home with strong staff engagement and a lively social program that many residents and families find improves quality of life. Key positives are cleanliness, compassionate staff, plentiful activities and outings, and pleasant communal spaces. The principal caveats are cost (and extra fees), some limitations in apartment variety and size, occasional criticisms of food, and reports of an older building located on a busy road. There is also a small but important discrepancy in reports about activity availability that prospective residents should clarify. Overall, the facility appears to offer high-touch care and a socially rich environment, but interested families should verify current activity schedules, clarify all fees (especially shower and outing charges), and inspect apartment sizes/options during a tour to ensure the fit justifies the cost.

    About Dania's Senior Home

Dania's Senior Home offers several levels of care for older adults, starting with independent living all the way to full skilled nursing and memory care. The community has different housing options, including studio, one-bedroom, and semi-private apartments, many already furnished and equipped with private bathrooms, air conditioning, cable TV, WiFi, and kitchenettes in some units, and folks like the flexibility to choose what works best for them-and the rooms are comfortable enough. Independent living offers resort-like amenities and a hassle-free lifestyle, while assisted living gives help with daily needs like bathing, dressing, medication management, housekeeping, laundry, meals, and getting around the community. There are a lot of amenities such as a dining room, game room, beauty salon, computer center, garden, walking paths, spa, sauna, fitness room, wellness center, and a library, with places to socialize or just be by yourself if that's what feels right that day.

Memory care at Dania's Senior Home keeps people with Alzheimer's or dementia safe in a secure environment with staff nearby 24 hours a day, and there are special programs and memory-enhancing activities to help relieve anxiety and support their minds. Skilled nursing offers 24-hour medical supervision, wound care, rehabilitation, behavioral health services, hospice care, and help for those recovering from illness or needing extra support. There's also board and care homes, adult care and family homes, adult day care services, behavioral health care when needed, and support with move-in coordination for residents learning their way around. They serve meals in a dining room with restaurant-style options and special diets for diabetes or allergies, and there's room service if someone would rather eat in their own space.

Community life includes scheduled daily activities, movie nights, planned outings, fitness classes, a wellness program, mental health support, and scheduled transportation to appointments or events, and there's always a staff member available for help or just to talk. Continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) at Dania's give residents the comfort of aging in place as their needs change, though that kind of arrangement comes with a buy-in fee. Respite care is there to provide a short break for family caregivers, and whatever level of support someone chooses, there's always 24-hour supervision and emergency alert systems in place to keep folks safe. The grounds feature well-kept walking paths, outdoor spaces, and gardens for fresh air and a bit of nature.

Dania's Senior Home aims to help seniors be as active or as relaxed as they want, with many wellness and care programs focused on physical and emotional health, as well as personal attention for each resident. Services cover the basics-like laundry, housekeeping, and dry cleaning-but the staff at Dania's Senior Home also takes care with medication, transfers, and supportive care for those needing extra help. There's a strong focus on safety, social activity, and support for any health or memory challenges, giving seniors and their families options and reassurance as they decide where to live.
