    Dependable compassionate care, clean facility

My mom has been here for months and I'm very satisfied - the staff are kind, caring, and treated her like family, with attentive nursing and an excellent rehab team. The facility is clean, well-landscaped with an enclosed yard, offers daily activities, flexible dining with good food, and a secure dementia unit. Most rooms are shared with a few private rooms available for extra cost. Overall, dependable, compassionate care that gives me peace of mind.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment in the reviews is strongly positive, with the clearest and most repeated strength being the staff and the day-to-day care they provide. Multiple reviewers describe staff as exceptional, compassionate, friendly and accommodating; common phrases include "like family," "goes above and beyond," and "phenomenal." Reviewers repeatedly emphasize that residents are treated with kindness and respect, that their well-being is prioritized, and that staff make residents comfortable and cared for. Several reviewers explicitly call Evergreen the best nursing home in the area and say they would highly recommend it, indicating a high level of satisfaction across families and residents.

Care quality and dementia services are standout themes. Reviews note a dedicated dementia unit and a locked ward, and several comments explicitly state the facility is safe for Alzheimer’s patients. This suggests the home has appropriate structures and staff experience to support residents with memory impairment. At the same time, one review mentions a no-restraint policy that made a family member (their mother) feel less secure; this signals that while the clinical approach may favor least-restrictive care, that approach may not align with every family's expectations about safety and supervision.

Physical facilities and living arrangements receive mixed feedback. Reviewers appreciate the outdoor environment — well-landscaped grounds and an enclosed yard are cited as positives that support resident comfort and safe outdoor time. The facility is described as clean. However, the building itself is repeatedly described as not modern or up-to-date. Rooming arrangements are also a recurring issue: most rooms are multi-occupancy, which raises privacy concerns for some families, and private rooms are available only at an extra cost. Prospective residents and families should weigh the trade-off between the strong personal care/atmosphere and the older physical plant and shared-room arrangements.

Dining, housekeeping and activities are generally praised. The kitchen is called well-stocked, meals are described positively, and dining is flexible with menu choices, special orders and guest trays available. Activity programming appears active and varied — reviewers mention daily activities such as baking and crafts and describe the facility as having many activities for residents. These elements bolster quality of life and suggest staff engagement beyond medical care.

Patterns across reviews suggest a consistent culture of warmth, hospitality and individualized attention from staff, which is the principal reason families recommend Evergreen. The main trade-offs noted by multiple reviewers are the age and appearance of the facility, the prevalence of shared rooms (with private rooms costing extra), and occasional concerns about policy choices (e.g., no-restraint approach) that may affect perceptions of safety. For families considering Evergreen, the strengths are especially compelling for those prioritizing compassionate, hands-on staff and strong memory-care programming; families prioritizing modern private accommodations should be aware of the likely need to pay more for a private room or consider an alternative site.

Those who want to know more about values, stories from the community, or the mission of the place can find that information too, and it's always possible to arrange a visit to understand how Evergreen Nursing Home tries to help older adults live with as much comfort and care as they need.
