    Small family-run home, attentive care

I placed my mom here and have been very pleased. It's a small, family-run, home-like facility - spotlessly clean, with home-cooked meals and attentive, compassionate staff (the owners are RNs). They provide 24/7 care and access, excellent personalized and end-of-life support, and clear communication with family. I recommend this caring, well-run place.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: The Oasis Assisted Living is consistently described as a small, home-like assisted living community with a strong emphasis on individualized care and family engagement. Reviewers highlight compassionate, attentive caregivers and RN-led ownership, which appears to translate into fast clinical responsiveness and comfort-focused end-of-life care. The facility’s smaller scale is repeatedly framed as a strength that enables frequent staff–family contact and individualized attention.

Care and staff: Care quality is the most frequently praised area. Families describe attentive, tender caregiving and prompt medical response; reviewers attribute clinical competence to RN owners and experienced staff. Communication with guardians and families is generally characterized as professional and timely. At the same time, a pattern of staff turnover and commentary about CNA pay suggest workforce retention is an ongoing operational pressure. A few families also described an impersonal admission interview or front-desk interaction, indicating some variability in the initial family-facing experience.

Dining and activities: Dining is often cited positively — meals made from scratch and balanced offerings received favorable comments. The community also runs seasonal and social events (holiday parties are specifically mentioned), contributing to a festive, home-like atmosphere. The small size supports family-style activities rather than large-program offerings; prospective families should consider whether that scale matches their expectations for activity variety.

Facilities and sanitation: The facility is described as clean, well organized, and homey, with reviewers noting a lack of odor concerns and attentive housekeeping. The physical setup and staffing level are frequently described as appropriate for the current resident census. The small setting contributes to a quieter, residential character but may limit access to some specialized services available in larger skilled-nursing campuses.

Management and operations: RN ownership and hands-on management are recurring positives; owners are described as knowledgeable and invested in care quality. Operational weaknesses that emerge across reviews include occasional staffing instability, workforce compensation pressures, and inconsistent initial admission interactions. Several reviewers urged prospective families to clarify the facility’s level-of-care designation (assisted living versus skilled nursing) and to confirm that the community can meet the specific clinical needs of a potential resident.

Notable patterns and guidance: Strengths center on personalized, compassionate care, clinical oversight by RNs, and a clean, family-oriented environment with good meals and close family communication. Areas to probe further during a tour or intake include current staffing stability and turnover rates, contract and pricing details for shared versus private rooms, scope of clinical services available on-site, and the expected admission/interview process. These checks will help families align the Oasis’s small-scale, home-like model with the medical and social expectations they have for their loved one.

    About The Oasis Assisted Living

The Oasis Assisted Living sits at 972 S Purcell Blvd in Pueblo, Colorado, and offers a home-like setting for adults who need extra help day or night, and while there's not much fuss with fancy features or themes, what stands out is staff who've worked with seniors for over eight years and have a kind and supportive way about them, so people living there get help that fits what they need, whether it's getting dressed, bathing, moving around, managing medicine, or more complex care like wound treatment or help with diabetes, and someone is always awake and ready to step in, no matter the hour. There are private and semi-private room choices, with monthly prices ranging from $7,000-$10,000 depending on the room, though assisted living starts from $3,000, and all rooms come with things like wheelchair-friendly showers, full tubs, Wi-Fi, sprinklers, and safety features, so comfort and safety go hand in hand. The place is clean and has both indoor and outdoor common areas, plus handy things like washers, dryers, and a kitchen area, so people can feel at home but still get as much or as little help as they need, and meals are cooked and planned with both taste and health in mind. Folks at The Oasis Assisted Living join activities right at home or around town, from art and crafts to exercise, social events, or devotional services, and there's a game room, a salon, and an activities room for small pleasures, while transportation's available for a fee if someone needs to go to appointments or run errands. The care also stretches to those needing skilled nursing, memory care for dementia or Alzheimer's, and even adult daycare, and staff work with residents and doctors to plan the right care, so everyone has a voice. No pets are allowed, but families can visit and tour any time, seeing firsthand how the staff work hard to make things run smoothly and safely. The Oasis Assisted Living helps with finances and understanding what's covered by Medicare or Medicaid, and they encourage talking with doctors and looking up their state license or inspection reports to help families make the best choices. Everyone gets treated as a person with something to offer, and the goal is always to keep folks comfortable and active, without making things feel complicated or rushed.
