    Loving professional care and community

My mother lived here for seven years and I'm grateful for the loving, professional staff - Patty and caregiver Nezha in particular - who consistently went above and beyond. The small Green House homes and new skilled nursing buildings are beautiful, safe, and comfortable; meals, activities, and an inclusive CCRC approach kept residents engaged and treated like family. Affordable, clean, and well managed, I recommend this community for compassionate, individualized care.

    Summary of reviews

Hover Community is described by many families as a small, campus-style provider that combines home-like Green House houses with a continuum of care across independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing. Strengths highlighted repeatedly include warm, relationship-focused caregiving, long-tenured direct care staff, comfortable private suites with updated bathrooms and HVAC, and an attractive wooded campus. The community emphasizes home-style dining and resident participation in meal planning and daily tasks; most accounts praise three meals daily and fresh food served in formal dining areas. Activity programming is active and varied (bingo, tea parties, games, life-enrichment planning), and the community provides on-campus transportation for shopping and outings.

Care quality is characterized in two distinct ways across the input. Many families describe compassionate, attentive caregivers, strong end-of-life support, and a resident-first culture that makes residents feel at home. At the same time, a pattern of operational concerns appears: frequent comments indicate understaffing, staff turnover, and inconsistent clinical skill mix (including reliance on trainees or variable nurse availability). These operational gaps are associated with reports of delayed responsiveness to resident needs and specific lapses in care coordination and medication handling. A small number of family accounts raise allegations of improper physical conduct and delayed response following a resident incident; these are serious concerns that reviewers say should be probed directly with management.

Management and leadership opinions are mixed. Several families specifically praised leadership and individual directors for strong oversight, visibility, and responsiveness; others point to periods of weak direction, poor communication, or unprofessional conduct at the supervisory level. Communication with families—ease of contact, timely updates, and clarity around incidents and medication/insurance issues—emerges as an inconsistent area: some reviewers found front-desk and administrative staff excellent, while others describe difficulties reaching staff or getting clear follow-up.

Facilities and safety features are generally described positively: well-maintained residences, updated systems, small 12-resident households (Green Houses), private bathing, and secured night-time access. Reviewers also note community amenities, visible staff presence in common areas, and a clean, inviting atmosphere. Counterbalancing those comments are operational concerns about enforcement of safety and conduct policies (for example, smoking near residents and inconsistent response practices) that families advised verifying during a visit.

For prospective residents and families: Hover Community offers many appealing elements—home-like housing, engaging activities, on-site skilled nursing, and generally well-regarded food and caregiving. At the same time, the most important due diligence areas are staffing levels and stability, staff training and clinical skill mix, medication and care-coordination processes, incident response protocols, and management turnover or variability. A focused tour that observes meal service and activity periods, asks for staffing ratios and recent staff turnover statistics, reviews incident/medication-handling policies, and speaks with current families will help clarify whether the community’s strengths outweigh operational risks for a particular resident.

    About Hover Community Inc

Hover Community Inc sits at 1380 Charles Dr in Longmont, Colorado, and people here find options for independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, and short-term rehab, and the place offers a homelike setting with choices for private or shared rooms, big or small suites, and private bathrooms, and everything's fully furnished, so residents don't have to bring much unless they want to, and over at the Katherine and Charles Hover Green Houses, the skilled nursing staff handle higher levels of care in a setting that feels more like a house than a hospital, and the Beatrice Hover Assisted Living lets people get help while keeping some independence and finding ways to stay social, and the Hover Manor is another option for folks who want to live independently but still want a sense of community.

Staff like Brian Buscietta, who handles plant operations across the campus, and Sandra Vela, who manages residences and services for Hover at Home, along with folks like Catherine Gates, who helps with welcoming newcomers, work as part of a small, focused team, and they put effort into making sure every resident gets care based on their needs, whether that's medication help, assistance with dressing or bathing, or just a hand with cleaning or housekeeping, and the 24-hour staff makes it so there's always someone nearby, so residents can feel more at ease, and they also use an emergency call system for safety at any time.

Meals stand out with a chef who prepares food from scratch, using organic ingredients where possible, and families, residents, and even doctors help plan menus, so what's served has both flavor and nutrition, and special diets get attention, seasonal menus change things up, and desserts and fresh breads come right from the kitchen, with family-style dining that keeps meals relaxed, and there's a real effort to respect preferences and mealtime routines.

There's a variety of things to do each day, so it's easy to go to a music program, try arts and crafts, garden in the community plots, join a fitness class, stroll on walking paths, or take part in spiritual services at the All Faiths Chapel, where there are three Sunday services and two weekly communion times, and trips often go to local spots or to Walgreens or Ziggi's Coffee nearby, and a club called Hover Connections Club runs programs, classes, and twice-weekly community lunches to keep folks social and active, and there's also Hover at Home, which brings non-medical care to seniors wherever they live, helping them stay independent.

Services include housekeeping, laundry, cable TV, internet, phone, air conditioning, transportation for errands or appointments, parking, and move-in help, and there's a salon on site, business and fitness spaces, a movie theater, and spaces for group activities like dancing or movie nights, and the gardens and outdoor areas offer places for family barbecues and concerts in the park, and there's a focus on keeping life affordable, tailored, and as maintenance-free as possible, with the idea that everyone should feel at home, find dignity, and get support without pressure or fuss, all while having options for changing levels of care without having to leave the community.
