    Clean, spacious, safe, caring community

I've been living here and I'm very happy with my choice - clean, spacious modern rooms with safety pull cords, a well-maintained building and a lovely campus with walking paths. The staff are wonderful and caring, long-tenured, and maintenance is reliable; there are plentiful activities (Activities Planner, monthly calendar) and transportation to grocery and doctor appointments. Meals are healthy and varied, the kitchen has stabilized, and the price is reasonable for Boulder County - excellent value with updated facilities like an exercise room, two laundry rooms, nice lobby and ample storage.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews present a mixed but actionable picture of Hover Senior Living Community. Many families and residents highlight strong elements: several accounts describe a caring, long-tenured staff and a family-like culture, along with a range of campus amenities such as an exercise room, walking paths, a pleasant lobby and grounds, and large apartment layouts with safety features like emergency pull cords. The community is positioned as a comparatively affordable option in the local market, and improvements such as added washers/dryers and updated facilities have been noted.

Care and staff: Experiences with care and staff are variable. Positive accounts emphasize helpful, compassionate employees and reliable day-to-day assistance. At the same time, other reviews indicate periods of short staffing and concerns about staff conduct, tone, or responsiveness. These contrasting accounts suggest that staffing levels and staff–family communication can fluctuate; prospective residents should verify current staffing patterns and ask about staff training and retention during visits.

Dining and kitchen operations: Dining receives mixed assessments. Some reviewers describe healthy, varied meals and flexible options, while others characterize meal quality and nutritional content as inconsistent or unsatisfactory. There are references to a past kitchen staffing turnover that was subsequently addressed, indicating that meal-service continuity has improved in some respects but may remain an area to monitor.

Activities and wellness: The facility maintains an activities program with an Activities Planner and a monthly calendar, and some reviewers report robust programming and transportation for errands and appointments. Conversely, other accounts describe reduced social and wellness activities. Overall, activity programming appears to be present but uneven in availability and intensity over time.

Facilities and services: The building and grounds are generally described as well maintained, with modern-feeling apartments, a nice campus, and practical features such as large storage closets. Laundry capacity has been expanded in response to earlier limitations, and common areas are often described positively. However, reviews also document earlier periods when laundry access was constrained (including limited machines and weekend closures), and there are references to pest-control concerns in some units. Apartment finishes are described as serviceable rather than luxurious.

Management and maintenance: Accounts of management and maintenance are mixed. Some families report reliable maintenance responsiveness and timely repairs, while others describe haphazard repairs, delays, and perceived poor management responsiveness. These divergent reports point to inconsistent operational oversight rather than a uniformly positive or negative pattern.

Notable patterns and recommendations: The tenor of reviews suggests a facility with solid strengths—value, campus amenities, and a caring core staff—but one that has experienced operational variability in staffing, dining, maintenance, and program consistency. Improvements (kitchen stabilization, added laundry capacity) have been made, but persistent concerns such as staff communication, management responsiveness, and pest control remain relevant. Prospective residents and families should tour the community, review current staffing and maintenance practices, inquire about recent pest-control measures and meal planning, and ask to see the latest activities calendar to assess whether the current operations meet their expectations.

    About Hover Senior Living Community

Hover Senior Living Community sits at 1401 Elmhurst Drive in Longmont, Colorado, and aims to give seniors and people with disabilities a caring and comfortable place to live, offering independent living, assisted living, skilled care, and short-term rehab all in one spot, which means folks can stay in the same community as their needs change, and the place really feels like a family because many of the staff have been there for years and work hard to meet the needs of each resident while making sure everyone's treated with respect and kindness. There are several housing options, such as Hover Manor for independent living-these are one-bedroom apartments with full kitchens, living and dining areas, and private bathrooms-while Beatrice Hover Assisted Living offers help with daily activities like bathing, dressing, and managing medications for older adults who want a bit more support, and the Katherine & Charles Green Houses Skilled Care provides skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and recovery in a home-like setting with an innovative approach. Residents in independent living don't have to worry about maintenance jobs, can enjoy a flexible meal plan, and take part in a full calendar of social, educational, and fun activities, thanks to a full-time Activities Planner and extras like clubs, interest groups, outings, Wii Bowling parties, an exercise room, and wellness programs led by certified exercise specialists at the on-site Wellness Center. Hover Senior Living Community also has extra perks like laundry rooms, community greenhouses, and communal areas to help everyone stay active and make friends.

Pets under 20 lbs., like cats and dogs, are allowed, and the Hover at Home program helps with things like companion visits, meal prep, and pet care for those who need a hand at home. The community makes it a point to provide quick emergency services and health resources, including easy-to-use interactive tools like a symptom checker and recovery learning centers, all in their health library, which also has information about medications and medical tests. There's a care guide for residents and families and plenty of community resources, such as local events and national news, to help everyone feel included and in the loop. A van transportation service takes residents to local errands and appointments, so folks don't have to worry about getting around.

The staff focuses on keeping seniors active, healthy, and as independent as possible, and amenities are in place to help residents age in place. There's a community board of directors and an administration team that oversees how things run, making sure the aim always stays on affordable, dignified care. Each part of the community-Beatrice Hover Assisted Living, Hover Manor Independent Living, Katherine & Charles Green Houses Skilled Care, and Hover Short-Term Rehab-serves a unique need, so residents can move within the community when their care level changes, instead of leaving the place that's come to feel like home. Hover Senior Living Community keeps things simple and straightforward, focusing on comfort, companionship, and dignity, giving older adults a choice of living styles with support from well-trained staff and a strong network of resources right on campus.
