    Caring clean affordable senior living

I moved my grandfather in and I'm very pleased - the staff are kind, prompt and genuinely caring, and they keep us updated. The place is clean and modern with private apartments/baths, monitored meals and flexible dining, lots of activities (Pilates, PT, library, gardening), on-site salon, transport to shopping and appointments, call buttons throughout, and even dog-walking. It's comfortable, affordable and well organized; my grandfather is happy and social, so I recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Reviewers consistently describe the caregiving staff as a core strength. Licensed nurses, CNAs, and activity staff are characterized as compassionate, helpful, and organized; families note regular updates on well-being and prompt routine care in many cases. Several comments highlight specific staff members (including activities leads) as driving a positive social environment. At the same time, there are repeated references to delays when residents require mobility assistance, indicating variability in response times that prospective residents and families should consider when assessing clinical-fit.

Dining receives mixed but informative feedback. Food quality is frequently praised, with some reviewers describing meals as very good or excellent and noting individualized meal monitoring and tailored diets. Operationally, however, the service model leans toward a cafeteria-style format with set dining times, and reviewers mention limited flexibility in scheduling. There are also recurring notes about communication gaps around dietary needs and meal arrangements, suggesting the need for clearer coordination between kitchen, care staff, and families.

The activity program and social offerings are a clear positive. Reported options include Pilates, physical therapy, gardening, library and games areas, regular outings (shopping, Walmart), and an array of continuous activities that support social engagement. On-site therapy and fitness offerings add a rehabilitative dimension that many families value. The facility is described as pet-friendly with staff assistance for pet care, which aligns with an emphasis on social and emotional lifestyle supports.

Facility condition and maintenance present a mixed picture. Several reviewers describe the community as clean, modern, and well organized; others raise concerns about visible deferred maintenance, dated décor, and cleanliness issues specifically related to carpeting in common areas. The campus layout (multiple connected buildings), private apartments with bathrooms, on-site salon, delivered mail, and walkable grounds are all cited as practical conveniences. These contrasting impressions suggest that different wings or buildings may be maintained to different standards or that upkeep is uneven.

Management and administrative patterns are similarly mixed. Some reviewers find management personable and the facility well organized; others report concerns about billing transparency and disagreements over charges. There are also mentions of pressure or perceived inflexibility around resident relocation decisions and limits to transportation resources. Together these comments point to strengths in day-to-day resident engagement but potential weaknesses in financial communication, discharge/relocation policies, and logistics coordination.

Notable patterns for prospective residents and families: interpersonal care and an active social program are consistent strengths, and the community offers practical amenities such as on-site therapy, salon services, and pet accommodation. Operational limitations to evaluate during a tour include building maintenance and cleanliness in common areas, the meal-service schedule and how special dietary needs are communicated and implemented, the typical response time for mobility assistance, transportation availability and scheduling, and financial/billing processes. These checks will help determine whether the facility’s strong social and clinical features align with an individual resident’s care and logistical needs.

    About Lakeview Commons

Lakeview Commons is a senior living community that tries to offer both independence and support for older adults who need help with daily tasks, and the staff takes a personalized approach to memory care within a special service called Columbine Acres, where residents can take part in tailored activities and use dedicated life stations, and there's even a secure backyard with a walking path for residents who want some fresh air or time in the garden, plus a friendly and caring atmosphere throughout the place, with staff available around the clock for emergencies or to help with things like bathing, dressing, managing medications, or just moving from bed to wheelchair. The apartments come either as one-bedroom or two-bedroom units, many with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, walk-in closets, and large windows for natural light, and there are options for independent living, too, so folks who want more privacy or space can find something that fits, while those who might need more attention can also get skilled nursing, therapy, home care, or respite care as needed, and the facility is pet-friendly, letting residents bring their pets along for company. Residents get daily meals prepared by professional chefs in a restaurant-style dining room, with special diets like diabetic meals available, and there's weekly housekeeping, laundry, transportation to appointments, and even a beauty salon and on-site beautician. For staying active or just passing the time, there's a fitness room, a wellness center, a gaming room, music and fitness programs, and lots of scheduled daily activities, including devotional activities, off-site trips, and community-sponsored events, and there's a library, spa, and several garden areas for anyone who wants a quieter space. Lakeview Commons also offers VA benefits consultation, move-in help, mental wellness programs, assistance with off-site activities, and a 24-hour call system for safety, and staff help manage diabetes care, ambulatory care, and medication, with physicians, psychiatrists, and psychoanalysts as part of the care team, and medical equipment and supplies available as needed. The community is designed so residents feel at home, with staff focusing on quality care and connection, and the place tries to preserve each person's sense of freedom while offering support and comfort, with a capacity for 54 residents, private spaces for guests, and several communal rooms where people can gather, relax, or take part in whatever activities suit them best.
