    Welcoming staff, clean but dated

I toured this community and liked the kind, welcoming staff - Linda the owner was especially proactive and impressive. The place is clean, homey, competitively priced, with good food, group dining, and my father is comfortable and happy with the care and equipment. Downsides: it's an older, dim facility that needs updating, rooms are small (some share a bathroom with several people), a bit maze-like and allows smoking, so it may not fit everyone. Overall I'd recommend it for families who value devoted staff and good value, but be aware of the trade-offs.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is mixed but leans positive around the quality of direct care, staff attitudes, and the move-in/process experience, while showing consistent concern about the physical condition, room size, and programmatic offerings.

Care quality and staff: Multiple reviews emphasize strong, attentive care. Reviewers repeatedly describe staff as caring, devoted, kind, and welcoming. The owner, identified as Linda, is frequently mentioned as proactive, involved, and impressive; reviewers credit her with smooth setup/arrangements and clear communication. One review specifically praises excellent care and up-to-date equipment (the latest bed and equipment), and another notes a satisfied, comfortable and happy resident (a father). These comments indicate that hands-on caregiving and management responsiveness are among the facility’s strongest attributes.

Management and operations: Management receives positive mentions for being proactive and communicative. Linda’s involvement appears to contribute to an efficient move-in experience and ongoing communication (for example, proactive communication about dining). Pricing is described as competitive by multiple reviewers, though at least one wished prices were lower. The facility’s acceptance of veterans is noted, and the property allows smoking — a feature cited in reviews and potentially important to some prospective residents.

Facilities and physical plant: Reviews show a split: some find the property nice, homey, and clean, while others describe the community as older and in need of updates or repairs. Specific concerns include small rooms, locations perceived as dark or gloomy, a confusing layout with many turns, and a lack of personality in décor. One reviewer reported a shared bathroom situation involving five people, a significant privacy and convenience concern. Another reviewer said some improvements were needed before moving in, indicating not all units are uniformly updated. Although common areas and cleanliness are praised, the residential units themselves appear to vary in condition and size.

Dining and activities: Dining is generally a positive area — reviewers cite good food, group dining opportunities, and proactive notification about dining plans. That social dining element seems to be valued. Activity offerings are mixed: some residents participate in activities and enjoy walks, while at least one reviewer reported that there were no activities and that the community was not a good fit. This suggests activity programming may be limited or inconsistent, or that availability depends on specific unit/location within the facility.

Notable patterns and fit considerations: The reviews reflect a clear divide between strong interpersonal factors (staff, owner engagement, cleanliness, food) and physical/programmatic limitations (room size, shared bathrooms, dated areas, limited activities). For families prioritizing compassionate, attentive staff and an efficient, communicative move-in led by an involved owner, Sunny Days appears to be a good option. Conversely, for those who need larger private rooms, modernized units, more robust activity programming, or a brighter, more modern aesthetic, the facility may not be an ideal fit without updates or selecting a specific unit.

In summary, Sunny Days Retirement Home Corporation is consistently commended for its caring staff, proactive ownership, cleanliness, and dining/communication practices. However, prospective residents should inspect specific rooms for size, privacy (bathroom arrangements), lighting, and décor, and should confirm activity offerings and any planned repairs or updates before committing. Price is generally competitive, but some prospective residents wish it were lower. The overall recommendation depends on whether interpersonal care and a homey environment outweigh concerns about physical condition and activity availability for the individual resident’s needs.

About Sunny Days Retirement Home Corporation

Sunny Days Retirement Home Corporation is a small, six-room senior care facility where each unit gives residents privacy while still offering friendly support, so you'll find that people get to know each other over time. The home provides assisted living for folks who need help with daily chores like bathing, dressing, or remembering their medicine, and there's help available around the clock, with staff checking on everyone to make sure they're alright and that their care plans fit their physical, mental, and emotional needs. There's special care for seniors with Alzheimer's and other memory issues, and those needing diabetic, incontinence, or non-ambulatory help can also get support as part of regular care. You'll find that both long-term and short-term stays are an option, so primary caregivers can get a break thanks to respite care, and the hospice program is there for end-of-life comfort and support. Adult daycare services let seniors come in during the day for supervision and activities, then go home at night which keeps people busy and gives families peace of mind.

Residents get to enjoy chef-prepared meals with choices like kosher and vegetarian dishes, and the housekeeping staff comes every week so rooms stay neat and comfortable. Each private room is furnished and easy to move around in, and you can tell the place is older but tidy and well kept. Among the main community spaces, there are walking paths and gardens for some fresh air, a reading room for books, game rooms, a fitness area, a jacuzzi, a steam room, plus indoor and outdoor spots to sit and relax. The on-site beauty parlor keeps everyone looking sharp, and devotional services are offered both in and outside the facility for those who want them.

There's plenty to do with planned events, movie nights, and art or music programs, and staff help coordinate rides if anyone needs to get to appointments or outings, with parking on-site for residents who still drive. Friendly staff handle all medication management and help coordinate with nearby healthcare providers, so people don't have to worry about missing any care. There are social programs every day, so no one feels left out, and residents are encouraged to join in for meals or activities even if they like to keep to themselves most of the time. The community environment is meant to feel supportive and warm, with the staff giving lots of attention to keeping things safe and comfortable, making it easier for folks to keep their independence but know help's there when it's needed. Sunny Days Retirement Home Corporation stays licensed by the state of Florida (License #10955), so you know the home meets safety and quality standards. Each service, whether it's daily living help, adult daycare, memory care, hospice, or respite, gets tailored to fit the person, with a strong focus on keeping everyone part of a friendly, easygoing community.
