    Clean caring staff excellent communication

I placed my mom here and I'm very pleased - the facility is spotless, well-maintained and homey. Staff are kind, attentive and knowledgeable (Linda in activities and Brenda kept us informed; CNA Christina was excellent), meals are good and personalized, and memory-care activities keep residents engaged. Communication with family is strong and I feel my mom is safe, comfortable and genuinely cared for.

    Summary of reviews

Hampton Manor Assisted Living at Belleview elicits consistently strong praise for its staff-driven culture, activity program, and homelike environment, while also showing recurring operational weaknesses that prospective families should evaluate. Strengths most often mentioned include compassionate, resident-centered caregiving, an active and varied activity calendar (music, crafts, bingo, live performances), and a well-maintained, secure campus with comfortable common spaces. Families and residents frequently describe the atmosphere as home-like, and many note positive medical coordination (including on-call physician access), hospice support, and assistance with Medicaid enrollment.

Care and staff: The facility is routinely commended for attendant compassion, individualized attention, and several long-tenured caregivers who provide continuity for residents. Activity staff are highlighted as particularly engaged and effective at keeping residents occupied and socially involved. At the same time, there are repeated operational concerns about staffing stability: reliance on temporary agency aides, staffing shortages at certain hours (notably overnight), and uneven responsiveness or follow-through on tasks. Clinical communication is often timely and informative, but some families have experienced delays in medical updates, questions about medication practices related to behavioral management, and instances that suggest gaps in the level of care provided for residents with higher medical or dementia-care needs.

Dining, laundry and daily care: Dining receives mixed feedback. Several families praise plentiful meals and personalized service, while others describe inconsistent food quality and limited fresh-vegetable options. There are specific operational weaknesses around laundry and personal-item management, including clothing mix-ups and dissatisfaction with laundry processes. Reviewers also raised concerns about monitoring of eating/drinking for residents at risk, and some noted episodic supply issues (toiletries, tissues) and sanitation concerns that contrast with the facility’s general cleanliness.

Activities and social life: The activity program is a clear strength. The community offers an expansive activity calendar, regular live music and events, and strong engagement from the activities director and staff. Residents are commonly described as involved and content. Limitations noted include fewer evening or nighttime programming options and, in some common areas, insufficient seating during larger activities.

Facilities and environment: Hampton Manor is described as an older but well-kept building with tasteful, homey décor and accessible grounds. Security features such as keypad/buzzer entry are positives, and many families appreciate the ability to personalize rooms and the availability of private or shared accommodations. Physical limitations include smaller room sizes and older layouts with limited storage in some units.

Management and administration: Experiences with management are mixed. Several reviewers praise helpful, informative administrative staff and responsive leadership; others report rushed admissions, high initial move-in costs, billing issues, and inconsistent follow-through on promises. Visitor access and tour experiences were affected historically by infection-control measures, which some families felt were restrictive.

Notable patterns and guidance for families: Overall, Hampton Manor appears to be a strong option for families prioritizing a compassionate, activity-rich, home-like memory-care environment with supportive staff and secure grounds. However, families of residents with complex medical needs or advanced dementia should probe staffing levels, overnight coverage, clinical protocols, and medication/behavior management policies. During a tour, prospective families should ask specific questions about staff-to-resident ratios (including overnight), laundry and personal-item procedures, meal menus and nutrition, sample care plans for residents with high assistance needs, billing and move-in fees, and recent measures taken to address any supply or sanitation shortfalls.
