    Great caregiving, troubling management issues

I live here and like the small, homey, spotless environment - staff are amazing and treat residents like family, help with transitions, allow decorations, and offer plenty of activities (coloring, games, TV, shopping trips). My main concern is management: the owner is rarely present, managers can be hostile or absent (I've even been threatened with eviction and once denied dessert while others were served), and a room stays uncomfortably hot - recurring issues that worry me despite great caregiving.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment from the reviews is mixed but leans positive regarding frontline care, the living environment, cleanliness, and activities. Multiple reviewers emphasize the small, home-like atmosphere and the sense of community, noting that decorations are allowed and that the layout offers ample space and several communal rooms with TVs. Cleanliness is repeatedly highlighted — reviewers mention constant cleaning and that the facilities are well-kept — which supports the impression of a tidy, comfortable setting.

Care quality and staff performance receive the strongest praise. Reviewers describe the staff as amazing, caring, and treating residents like family. Several accounts specifically note that staff were helpful during the transition into the home, which indicates strong admission and settling-in support. The emphasis on close, personalized care and community suggests that the facility succeeds at providing attentive, relationship-based caregiving rather than a more institutional experience.

Activities and the daily life offer are another clear strength. Reviewers list a variety of activities, including coloring books and paints, games, television, and organized outings like shopping trips. The presence of multiple communal spaces supports socialization and choice in daily activities, reinforcing the home-feeling environment and opportunities for engagement.

Notwithstanding these positives, there are consistent concerns centered on management and some specific service issues. Several reviewers report hostile or absent management behavior; one reviewer described being threatened with eviction. Another described unequal treatment at mealtime — specifically, dessert being served to others but not to that reviewer. The owner is described positively by at least one reviewer as "cool," but is also reported to be rarely present. Multiple reviewers point to recurring management problems, which suggests these issues are not isolated incidents but an ongoing pattern that contrasts with the strong performance of frontline staff.

Facilities-wise, most comments are favorable about layout, cleanliness, and the home-like environment, but there are at least some environmental comfort issues noted, namely a hot room or temperature problems. This is a concrete operational detail that could affect resident comfort even in an otherwise well-kept facility.

In summary, the reviews depict a facility with strong day-to-day caregiving, a warm, small-house atmosphere, good cleanliness, and a varied activity program. The major weaknesses lie in leadership and management consistency: reports of absent or hostile management, a threatened eviction, unequal meal treatment, and the owner’s infrequent presence. These management-related problems appear recurrent and are the main negative theme that contrasts with otherwise positive staff-resident interactions and a pleasant physical environment.

    About Pure Restoration Assisted Living

Pure Restoration Assisted Living sits in Crystal River, Florida, about 6 miles from Lecanto, and offers care for up to 12 residents in a place that feels very close-knit and homelike, and has both private and shared studio rooms that come fully furnished if folks want, but people can also bring their own things to help the space feel more their own, and the rooms have kitchenettes, private bathrooms, air conditioning, cable television, high-speed internet, and phone service, which really helps keep things comfortable and connected. The facility focuses a lot on helping seniors keep as much independence as they can, while always being there with 24-hour staff for daily help like bathing, dressing, medication management, and meals, and the meals are home-cooked with organic foods, following a dietician's advice, and there are always drinks and snacks available, with special diets like diabetic options, too. There are memory care services, assisted living, limited mental health support, respite care for those who only need to stay a short while, and home care and retirement home options, with personalized care plans and supervision built around what each resident prefers or needs, making sure everyone gets the right level of support.

There's a steady schedule of daily group activities and social events, and residents can take part in outings to parks, shopping, or restaurants, cook-outs, fitness and recreational activities, as well as religious services, and there are also communal lounges and dining areas that make it easier to socialize or just sit and enjoy the company. The place has a 24-hour call system for safety, and transportation is available for doctor visits, shopping trips, and local events, which is handy for those that need help getting around. On top of that, there's on-site housekeeping, laundry, beauty and nail services, podiatry and physician visits, maintenance, and mobile X-ray services, plus access to home health providers, speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy as needed.

Meals, cleaning, laundry, and most chores are handled by staff, and everything utility-wise-including phone and internet-is included, so residents don't have to worry about bills or home upkeep anymore. The environment puts a real focus on safety, dignity, and each resident's wellbeing, with special care options if someone has memory loss or needs more hands-on help. The community has clear rules about fair housing and equal opportunity, and it's been operating since September 2017 under license #8652 as a Florida Limited Liability Company, with annual reports on file and managed by David Gregory and Francia David. There's no event history listed, but there are both PDF annual reports and a second location up in Inverness, Florida. The facility's rating is listed as 1 out of 10, the highest in its city, though everyone has different ideas of what matters most when choosing a home.
