    Clean facility, compassionate professional staff

I placed my mom at Brilliance Assisted Living and I couldn't be happier. The brand-new, gorgeous facility is spotless and odorless, the meals are good, and the rooms are spacious with patios and lovely common areas. The staff - especially Debbie and the nursing team (and the caring physician-owner) - are compassionate, professional, proactive, and keep me informed with texts/photos and regular updates. They maintained exemplary COVID precautions with zero cases; my mom is safe, well cared for, social and happy. I highly recommend them.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: Reviews of Brilliance Assisted Living are overwhelmingly positive. Across multiple reviewers there is a consistent emphasis on exceptional staff quality, proactive and transparent communication with families, meticulous cleanliness, and a strong focus on infection control. Many reviewers explicitly name and praise the director of nursing, Debbie Amendolare, for her responsiveness and above-and-beyond communication (including texts, photos and videos) and several note that the owner is a physician who is personally invested in resident well‑being. Families repeatedly say their loved ones are happy, well cared for, and treated like family.

Care quality and staff: The dominant theme is high-caliber caregiving. Reviewers use words such as compassionate, attentive, professional, and friendly to describe the caregiving team. Staff–resident interactions are described as engaging and relationship-driven, with staff keeping families informed and quickly rectifying any issues. The nursing leadership receives particular praise for both clinical oversight and family communication. Multiple comments identify the RN staff as “top notch” and characterize the team as protective and proactive, especially during the pandemic. Staff testing, adherence to CDC guidelines, and management’s decision-making during COVID-19 were repeatedly highlighted, with numerous reviewers stating there were zero known COVID cases among residents or staff.

Facilities and cleanliness: The physical plant is another strong selling point. Reviewers consistently describe the campus as brand-new, pristine, immaculate, and odor-free. Amenities mentioned across reviews include spacious rooms with patios, a courtyard, large lobby/gathering spaces, a grand-hotel style dining hall, a hair salon, walking areas, and an outdoor pool patio. The memory care unit is noted positively, and several reviewers called Brilliance the best in the county. Cleanliness and organization are recurring descriptors, reinforcing the impression of a well-run, maintained facility.

Management, admissions, and communication: Admissions and coordination receive high marks for transparency and efficiency. Families describe the process as well-coordinated with no surprises and seamless transportation coordination. Management is portrayed as protective and hands-on — quick to address concerns and keep families apprised. The use of frequent, personalized updates (including texts and photos/videos of activities) is especially valued by families and cited as helping them feel connected and reassured about their loved ones’ care.

Dining, activities, and social life: Dining impressions are generally positive; several reviewers call the dining area beautiful and meals “good” or “fantastic,” and the grand dining room is noted as an attractive feature. A few reviewers, however, described the food as merely adequate, indicating some variability in dining satisfaction. Activity offerings are acknowledged — many cite tailored activities, lots of walking space, and friendly residents — but activity programming receives some mixed feedback. A handful of reviewers felt activities could be expanded or made more robust, especially in certain units.

Noted concerns and patterns: Criticisms are relatively limited but consistent enough to mention. One explicit design limitation cited is that parts of the facility are not wheelchair accessible. Activity programming came up as an area for potential improvement for some residents. Food received mixed remarks: while many praised meals, at least one reviewer called the food adequate rather than excellent. A few comments mention that, despite overwhelmingly positive feedback, there remain opportunities for further improvements (though specifics were not always detailed).

Conclusion: In aggregate, the reviews paint Brilliance Assisted Living as a highly reputable, clean, and well-managed facility with exceptional staff and nursing leadership, standout infection-control practices during COVID-19, and strong family communication. The physical environment and amenities are repeatedly praised, contributing to residents’ apparent happiness. Prospective residents and families should be reassured by the strong clinical leadership and the facility’s emphasis on safety and transparency; they should also confirm accessibility needs (wheelchair access) and review activity and dining options to ensure the program matches specific preferences. Overall, reviewers recommend Brilliance enthusiastically and describe it as a trusted, family-like community for assisted living and memory care.

    About Brilliance Assisted Living

Brilliance Assisted Living opened in September 2019 in Edgewater, Florida, and stands as a new two-story community that offers several services for seniors looking for different kinds of support, and when you walk in, you notice it's pet friendly and designed to feel like home, with an emphasis on wellness and community life, so people feel connected but still have their independence if they want it. The facility features 64 living units and can serve up to 78 residents, and there are 17 of those units set aside for people living with Alzheimer's or other memory issues, which helps ensure they get the focused care and environment they might need, and there's staff dedicated to giving attentive care for everyone, including those needing short-term support after illness or injury, and some accommodations are available for temporary stays which can be useful for caregivers needing a break. Seniors who choose to live here have breakfast, lunch, and dinner included, and if someone needs help with meals, medication, bathing, dressing, or other daily tasks, staff are on hand for that, and extra help like incontinence care, wake-up calls, and going to bed is also part of what's offered. There's a good variety of amenities like a movie theater, a swimming pool, a bistro, a library, hair dressing services, shuffleboard, a fitness center, and restaurant-style dining, plus a private room for family meals or special occasions, and the building aims to promote a mix of active life and relaxation in a comfortable setting, with transportation to local medical appointments and regular housekeeping and laundry. The place is also open to independent seniors who don't need much help but want a social, hassle-free environment and there are specialized memory care features to help those with dementia feel safe and supported. Reviews from families and residents give Brilliance Assisted Living high praise for its compassionate, professional staff, and the facility seems committed to making daily life simpler while giving families and caregivers some peace of mind.
