    Beautiful compassionate care in home

I placed my dad at Pendry and couldn't be happier - a beautiful, immaculately kept Spanish-style home on 11 acres with a heated pool, wrap-around porch and lovely country views. The small eight-resident community and owner Mel Davidson provide compassionate, one-on-one care beyond expectations; staff are friendly, responsive, and treat residents like family. Each private bedroom has a large roll-in bathroom, meals are home-cooked and delicious, and my dad is always clean, dressed and well cared for. Initial communication hiccups were quickly resolved - I highly recommend Pendry.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The reviews for Pendry Estate LLC are overwhelmingly positive, with the majority of reviewers awarding top marks and recommending the facility. Common themes include a very attractive, well-maintained home, personalized and compassionate caregiving, and a strong sense of a family-like, homey atmosphere. Many reviewers specifically call out the owner (referred to as Mel D and Ms. Davidson) and the caregiving staff for exceeding expectations and delivering attentive, one-on-one care. The small size of the community — eight residents — is repeatedly mentioned as a key advantage, allowing staff to provide individualized attention and rapid responses to residents’ needs.

Care quality and staff: Reviewers consistently praise the quality of personal care. Staff are described as kind, attentive, and treating residents like family; multiple accounts note residents are consistently clean, well-dressed, and happy. Several reviews highlight “care beyond expectations,” 24/7 availability of care, and good monitoring/reporting on residents’ conditions. The owner and named staff receive particular commendation for hands-on involvement and supportive management. While most communication experiences are positive, a minority of reviewers report initial contact problems or missed phone calls; in at least one case the communication issue was resolved quickly, though another reviewer said messages were ignored and reported a negative overall impression.

Facilities and environment: The physical property is a standout feature. Reviewers describe a beautiful Spanish-style residence set on approximately 11 acres in a rural or country setting. The house is repeatedly described as immaculately clean, bright, and well-appointed. Notable amenities include eight private bedrooms each with their own private roll-in large bathrooms, an open floor plan with kitchen visibility, a heated pool, wrap-around porch, and a built-in brick barbecue. These features contribute to a home-like, family-friendly environment that many find reminiscent of home rather than an institutional setting.

Dining and daily life: Food and dining get consistent positive remarks. Reviewers mention home-cooked meals using fresh ingredients, flavorful preparations, and good portion sizes. The dining experience is portrayed as healthy and enjoyable, reinforcing the overall homelike atmosphere. Activities and outdoor amenities (pool, porch, barbecue, views) are appreciated for contributing to quality of life and social opportunities, although specifics about organized activities are not prominent in the reviews.

Community size, pricing and suitability: The small capacity (eight residents) is emphasized as a major benefit for personalized care and rapport between staff and residents. One reviewer notes a flat-rate pricing structure, which some families may find helpful for budgeting. The rural setting and private rooms with roll-in showers suggest the facility suits residents who prefer a quieter, more residential environment and require accessible bathroom facilities.

Patterns of concern and variability: While praise is dominant, a few recurring concerns appear. Communication inconsistencies are the most common negative theme: several reviewers mention initial communication problems, unanswered phone calls, or ignored messages. In one reported instance these were resolved, but another reviewer maintained a negative overall impression because of unanswered calls. A minor concern noted by one reviewer is the presence of an on-site cat, which could be problematic for allergies or personal preference. Finally, although not framed as a complaint by most reviewers, the small community size could limit availability or diversity of social contacts for some prospective residents.

Bottom line: Pendry Estate LLC presents as a small, well-maintained, and highly recommended residential care option with strong, compassionate staff and hands-on ownership. The combination of private, accessible rooms, extensive grounds, appealing amenities (heated pool, porch, barbecue), and consistently positive remarks about home-cooked meals and personalization of care make it particularly attractive for families seeking a homelike, intimate setting. Prospective families should, however, verify current communication practices during intake (given a few reports of missed calls) and confirm whether any on-site pet arrangements fit their loved one’s needs or sensitivities.
