    Warm caregivers, awful administration, mixed

I found the caregiving staff warm, compassionate, and the community clean, safe and family-oriented - residents were friendly and well cared for. But management and admin were terrible: rude receptionist, poor communication, missing mail, medical bills sent to collections, inconsistent training and even pest issues that led to some mistreatment. Overall I left with mixed feelings: excellent frontline care undermined by awful leadership and administration.

    Summary review

The reviews for Lincoln Manor present a sharply divided picture, with strongly positive accounts of care and staff on one side and serious operational and management complaints on the other. Several reviewers emphasize consistently compassionate, professional caregiving and a family-style atmosphere, calling attention to kind, top-notch staff and owners who foster a community environment. In contrast, other reviews raise serious concerns including alleged mistreatment, pest problems in resident rooms, and claims of unqualified or poorly trained personnel. Because both strong praise and strong criticism appear multiple times, the overall sentiment is highly polarized rather than uniformly positive or negative.

Care quality and staff: Many reviews explicitly praise the caregiving team, describing staff as compassionate, professional, and treating residents like family. Multiple summaries call the staff “top-notch” and highlight that residents are cared for in a kind and respectful manner, with staff encouraging questions from residents and families. However, opposing accounts claim a lack of qualified personnel and poorly trained workers, and even allege mistreatment of elderly residents. This creates a conflicting view of care quality: some families report excellent hands-on care and a compassionate culture, while others report experiences that suggest significant lapses in training, oversight, or behavior by specific employees.

Facilities and cleanliness: Several reviewers describe Lincoln Manor as clean and safe, contributing to a reassuring environment for residents. That positive perception of the physical environment is contradicted by at least one report of pest insects in rooms, which is a major red flag with respect to sanitation and facility maintenance. The coexistence of clean/safe comments and a pest complaint suggests either inconsistent facility upkeep across units or a single significant incident that affected some reviewers but not others.

Management and administration: Administrative and management issues are a prominent negative theme. Multiple summaries accuse management of being terrible, and specific administrative failures are called out: an “extremely rude receptionist” who hung up on calls, poor administrative communication overall, withheld mail, and even medical bills being sent to collections. These are concrete, serious complaints that point to systemic administrative problems (front-desk/customer service, mail handling, billing) rather than isolated caregiving matters. Conversely, some reviewers mention family-oriented owners and a community atmosphere, indicating that ownership and leadership may be perceived positively by some families even if day-to-day administration is problematic.

Community, policies, and atmosphere: The facility is repeatedly described as having a community atmosphere with friendly residents and family-oriented ownership, which can be a strong selling point for prospective families seeking social connection for their loved ones. One review notes “strict guidelines,” which appears in the positive list and may indicate a structured environment that some families appreciate for safety and consistency; however, strict rules could also be perceived negatively depending on individual expectations. Overall, social life and resident friendliness are described positively in several summaries.

Notable patterns and considerations: The reviews display a pattern of polarization—clear clusters of highly positive experiences coexisting with severe negative allegations. Positive themes concentrate on caregiver compassion, staff warmth, and a family-like culture, while negative themes focus on management, administration, staffing qualifications, and cleanliness/pest control. Because administrative failures (mail, billing, receptionist behavior) and allegations of mistreatment and unqualified staff are serious and actionable concerns, these should weigh heavily in an evaluation. The conflicting reports suggest variability in resident experience that could be due to differences in staffing at different times/shifts, isolated incidents, or uneven management practices.

In summary, Lincoln Manor receives praise for its caring staff and community feel from multiple reviewers, but also receives serious operational and safety-related criticisms from others. Prospective residents and families should balance the consistent reports of compassionate caregiving and family-oriented atmosphere against the concrete administrative complaints and the allegations of mistreatment and pest issues. If considering Lincoln Manor, a thorough tour, direct conversations with management about the cited administrative and pest-control issues, checking recent inspection reports, and seeking references from current residents’ families could help clarify whether the positive experiences or the negative ones are more representative of the current standard of care and operations.
