    Resort-like community with exceptional staff

I toured and recently moved in and have been very pleased. The new, resort-like building and grounds are beautiful and immaculate, with terrific amenities (pools, restaurants, healthcare services, golf simulator) and comfortable, well-appointed apartments. The staff - especially Misty, Melissa and Heather - were knowledgeable, attentive and went above and beyond, helping with move-in and answering every question. Dining is excellent and the community feels warm and welcoming; I'd recommend a visit.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment: The reviews for Watersound Fountains are overwhelmingly positive. Reviewers repeatedly emphasize the property’s resort-like, new, and visually striking appearance, calling it a five-star, country-club style community with immaculate grounds. Across dozens of impressions, guests and prospective residents highlighted exceptional staff interactions, outstanding food across multiple dining venues, a wide array of on-site amenities, and helpful, informative tours that left visitors feeling confident and enthusiastic about the community.

Staff and care quality: One of the most dominant themes is praise for the staff. Multiple reviewers call staff attentive, warm, caring, and knowledgeable. Individual team members—most frequently Misty, Melissa, and Heather—are named and singled out for exemplary service, responsiveness, and personalized attention. Reviewers describe staff as going above and beyond (helping with move-in details, moving trash rooms to reduce walking, answering detailed questions, providing proactive support), and many note that staff feel like family and create a welcoming atmosphere. Several comments specifically mention that staff were helpful with healthcare-related needs and that representatives addressed concerns about next steps for senior living. Overall, care quality is described as very good to first-class, with staff responsiveness and empathy as a major strength.

Facilities and location: The physical plant and setting are consistently praised. The community is repeatedly described as new, modern, bright, and beautifully designed—bordering conservation land, with trees, birds, and peaceful surroundings. Amenities mentioned include a gorgeous pool (large pool with clean chaises), multiple restaurants (four restaurants onsite), workout facilities, a golf simulator, concierge floor, guest suite, and golf cart access around the grounds. The property’s cleanliness and attention to detail (table decorations, well-planned events) are noted many times. The presence of on-site healthcare services, physical therapy, and full-service dining contributes to a sense that residents can age in place with high-quality support.

Dining and programs: Dining emerges as a core positive. Words like "delicious," "amazing cheesecake," "handmade pizza," and "tomato soup" appear in several reviews. Reviewers praise the curated meals by an identified chef, the variety of dining venues, and the quality of service in restaurant settings. Multiple events with themed food (tea parties, Lion dance celebration) are described as well-organized and festive, with attentive waitstaff and attractive table settings. Beyond dining, activity programming receives praise for being engaging and well-executed, contributing to an active lifestyle and strong community engagement.

Tours, sales, and move-in experience: Tours and the sales/marketing experience are frequently called out as informative, personalized, and professional. Several reviewers recommend visiting because the guided tours (often led by Misty or the Marketing Director) are thorough and answer many questions, with useful explanations about next steps for prospective residents. Families describe the move-in process and post-tour follow-ups as smooth and accommodating, with staff addressing special requests. The sales director and representatives are described as enthusiastic and knowledgeable, which positively influenced decision-making for many prospects.

Management and concerns: Negative feedback is relatively rare and appears isolated rather than systemic. The main criticisms include the property being under construction in some areas (a likely temporary condition) and one report of an unresponsive executive director/poor customer service. A small number of reviewers raised concerns about food or how a flex allowance is applied—these are mentioned but are not widespread. Overall, management presence is often noted as visible and positive, though the single report of an unresponsive executive director suggests at least one incident worth investigating.

Patterns and final assessment: The dominant pattern is uniform praise for staff, dining, amenities, and the overall resort-like environment. Reviewers repeatedly use terms such as "must-see," "one-of-a-kind," "top-notch retirement living," and "highly recommend," indicating strong satisfaction. The combination of on-site healthcare, varied dining options, extensive amenities, proactive staff, and an attractive natural setting positions Watersound Fountains as a high-end independent living community with the infrastructure for continuing care. Minor negatives—construction activity and an isolated customer service complaint—do not materially detract from the overall positive consensus but should be monitored by management to maintain the high standard of service described throughout the reviews.
