The Terrace of Jacksonville offers skilled nursing care and has a team that includes Board Certified physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, certified nursing assistants, social workers, and registered dietitians, which means residents can get help with a variety of health needs, and the staff is ready to assist families as they figure out what kind of healthcare options are right for them, giving support to both individuals and families in a way that's focused on compassion and high-quality care without making empty promises, and because the facility is part of a network with places like the Healthcare Center of Jacksonville and The Terrace of St. Cloud, people here can feel like they're part of a larger community, especially since the staff likes to keep the atmosphere welcoming and inclusive for seniors so that everyone feels respected and looked after. They try to support independence for each resident and provide personalized attention to match specific needs, and although there isn't a full list of features or amenities shared, the facility offers a wide range of health services including rehabilitation, skilled nursing, outpatient and inpatient sub-acute care, long-term care, respite care, and hospice care, plus therapies like physical, occupational, and speech therapy for those who need extra help, and all of this happens in a setting meant to help seniors feel at ease and engaged since there are activities to boost quality of life, and it's worth knowing there are job openings listed online, a way to sign up for job alerts, and a way for folks to schedule a tour. Also, if you're thinking about applying for work, the application is valid for 90 days, and the facility offers different housing options for older adults depending on care needs.

Skilled caregivers, understaffed, dirty facility
I had a mixed but ultimately troubling experience. The rehab therapists and many nurses/CNAs were skilled, compassionate, and helped with measurable recovery - a handful of staff felt like family. But administration was money-driven and unresponsive, care was inconsistent and often understaffed, and I saw serious cleanliness and hygiene problems (soiled linens, cockroaches/rodents, dirty rooms), poor food, lost belongings, delayed/poor medical responses, and troubling medication/consent issues. Night coverage and call-bell response were especially bad, and communication with families was poor. Given the risks I witnessed, I cannot recommend this facility without close oversight.
