    Clean, caring staff, small rooms

I toured a small, nurse-run home that felt very clean and had pleasant, knowledgeable, genuinely caring staff. Meals were scratch-made and dietitian-approved. It's well converted for nursing care with wide doorways and good wheelchair access, but rooms are small and sometimes shared and the place can feel a bit crowded. Activities (arts & crafts) exist but aren't run by a full-time activity staff, amenities are limited, and there are few residents to interact with. Renovations are planned, the backyard and some dark interior colors need work, and staff contact wasn't available that day.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is generally positive about clinical care, cleanliness, accessibility, and staff professionalism, while noting limitations related to social opportunities, certain facility details, and amenities. Reviewers repeatedly highlight that Rose's Terrace is a smaller, nurse-run care home that has been renovated or converted specifically for nursing care. That focus on clinical suitability comes through in multiple comments about dedicated bedridden care, a calm nursing tone, and a professional, knowledgeable staff. Many reviewers felt staff were personable and caring, and visitors often met the owner or director during tours, which supports a sense of approachable leadership.

Care quality and staff: The strongest, most consistent positive theme is staff and clinical care. Reviews emphasize a nurse-run operation with staff described as pleasant, knowledgeable, professional, and caring. Specific positives include calm-sounding nurses, dedicated attention for bedridden residents, and an overall feeling of competence during tours. The presence of the owner/director during visits was noted positively, suggesting accessible management. One negative staffing note was an instance where a staff contact was unavailable, which indicates occasional communication gaps but this was not a frequent complaint.

Facilities and accessibility: Physical accessibility is another clear strength. Multiple reviewers pointed out wide doorways and hallways and good wheelchair accessibility, and several comments specifically stated the building had been renovated or well-converted for nursing care. The facility is described as clean and having a generally spacious layout. However, that positive is tempered by several facility-related concerns: some rooms are small or shared (limiting privacy), certain areas gave a crowded feel despite an overall spacious layout, interior colors were described as dark, and the backyard/outdoor space needs repairs. There are also notes that renovations are planned, which may improve some issues but could also cause short-term disruptions.

Dining and meals: Dining is a mixed but largely positive area. Multiple reviewers highlighted that meals are prepared from scratch and are dietitian-approved, which signals attention to nutrition and food quality. One practical caveat is that the dining area is not a distinct dining hall—meaning dining may be more integrated into common space or multipurpose areas rather than a separate room designed specifically for meals. That arrangement may suit some residents but could reduce the social feel of mealtimes for others.

Activities and social life: Activity programming exists — reviewers mentioned arts and crafts and other activities — but a recurring concern is that activities are not consistently ongoing. The small size of the facility compounds this issue: several reviewers noted there are few residents, and those present often seemed older and less interactive. This results in limited opportunities for socialization and peer interaction for residents who are looking for a livelier community. The small, quieter environment may be a benefit for individuals who prefer a calm, home-like setting, but it is a notable drawback for those seeking active group programming and frequent social engagement.

Management and operation: Management presence during tours was seen positively, and the facility comes across as professionally run. The combination of nurse-led care and owner involvement suggests hands-on management. The planned renovations indicate willingness to invest in the property, though reviewers cited that staff contact was unavailable during at least one visit, and the need for yard repairs suggests some maintenance priorities remain.

Overall impression and fit: In sum, Rose's Terrace appears to be a clean, well-maintained, nurse-run small care home that provides attentive clinical care, strong meal quality, and good physical accessibility. Its small size and home-like atmosphere are consistent themes that deliver personalized attention but also create limitations in social opportunities and variety of amenities. Prospective residents who require nursing-level care, value a calm environment, prioritize accessible facilities, and appreciate staff continuity are likely to find Rose's Terrace a good fit. Those who prioritize a bustling social scene, a larger resident community, abundant amenities, or consistently active programming should be aware of the facility's limitations and may want to confirm activity schedules, room sizes and privacy options, and plans/timelines for the noted renovations and yard repairs before deciding.

    About Rose's Terrace

Rose's Terrace serves older adults who need extra help and want both support and some independence, so you'll find services like assisted living, board and care, memory care, and even adult daycare all under one roof, which means if someone needs just a little assistance or a lot, they'll likely fit in here, and the nursing care, medication management, and all the regular doctor visits help keep everyone as healthy as possible. The place has both private and shared rooms, many are large and some even have a little kitchenette, though all have easy-to-use bathrooms built specially for wheelchairs, with shower benches and grab bars so no one has to worry about slipping or getting stuck, and that's handy for people with walkers or anyone who might need physical or occupational therapy since the space can handle that kind of care right on site. The staff are around 24 hours a day-called the Attentive Support Team by the place-and a part-time nurse drops in while a doctor comes twice a month, which can be mighty helpful if a problem pops up or someone has a hard time getting out to medical appointments. Residents get help with daily things like bathing or dressing and transfers if needed, and meal planning's taken care of, too, by chefs who use fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats for every meal, while snacks come regularly, and there's plenty of attention to special diets for diabetes or allergies. The facility isn't fancy-some parts are old and a bit worn-but it stays clean inside and feels comfortable, with friendly staff who try hard to care for residents, offering laundry and housekeeping so folks don't need to worry about chores, and the living room and dining area are big open spots where you'll see people gathering for meals, games, or just to talk, sometimes even for movie nights. You'll find plenty for people to do, from activities inside and out like games, crafts, or walks in the little garden, and the place tries to keep everyone moving and thinking, which helps pass the days in a pleasant way, while respite stays are available if someone needs a short-term break, so it's possible for family caregivers to get some rest. There's an entry fee, currently $1500, and the place doesn't allow pets, but it does allow adults over 55 and up, and has wheelchair access all over, with transportation and parking for those who still come and go, plus an emergency alert system so help comes fast if you ever need it. Rose's Terrace sits in a pretty spot, a bit quiet, and while the building's old, they keep it clean, with staff who show real compassion and treat everyone with respect and patience, and that kind of care can make all the difference for folks wanting a safe place to live. The state licenses Rose's Terrace under number AL 13184, and it has a blend of independent living, continuing care, and all-inclusive options, so whatever level of help someone needs-whether it's Alzheimer's support, board and care, nursing home service, or just some daily check-ins-they can find it here, with meals served and rooms furnished, and a team always working to keep life comfortable, safe, and engaging for each person who calls it home.
