    Caring staff ensured his comfort

I am so grateful for the wonderful, caring staff who kept William (Bill) safe and well cared for. Melissa and the team were attentive, loving, and compassionate, and they made his last days comfortable. The facility was very clean-no complaints.

    Summary review

The reviews present a uniformly positive picture of The Ranch Assisted Living, with the strongest themes being compassionate, attentive caregiving and a clean, safe environment. Multiple comments emphasize that staff provided loving, compassionate care and made a resident's final days comfortable and dignified. Family members repeatedly express gratitude and explicitly note having no complaints, indicating a high level of satisfaction with the services received.

Staff performance is a standout theme. Reviewers describe staff as caring and attentive, and one reviewer calls out a specific caregiver by name (Melissa) for her attentiveness. The emphasis on individualized attention and compassion suggests that staff-to-resident interactions are a major strength of the facility. The language used — "love and compassion," "made his last days comfortable," and repeated gratitude — points to meaningful emotional support as well as practical care.

Facility-related comments focus on cleanliness and safety. The facility is described as "very clean," and reviewers state that residents were "safe and well cared for." These observations reinforce the perception that the environment supports resident wellbeing and that housekeeping and general maintenance standards meet family expectations.

What is not discussed in the reviews is as informative as what is. There are no comments about dining, activities, programming, medical management beyond end-of-life comfort, administrative responsiveness, or cost. Because these areas are not mentioned, no conclusions can be drawn about them from this set of reviews. The absence of negative comments is notable but should be interpreted cautiously: the review sample is small and focused primarily on end-of-life care and staff interactions.

Overall sentiment is strongly positive and highlights key strengths in compassionate caregiving, individual staff attentiveness, and a clean, safe facility environment. The consistent expressions of gratitude and the explicit statement of having "no complaints" suggest that the families of residents felt respected and supported. However, the limited scope of the reviews (with a focus on one family's end-of-life experience) means broader aspects of facility life — such as dining quality, activities, long-term medical management, and administrative practices — remain unaddressed. Prospective families should view these reviews as favorable evidence of excellent personal care and facility cleanliness, while seeking additional information or reviews to evaluate other operational areas not covered here.

    About The Ranch Assisted Living

The Ranch Assisted Living sits on either six or seventeen acres, with big trees and quiet grounds out at 9419 Lorraine Road in Lakewood Ranch, FL, and you'll find it feels more like a family home than a big facility, with just 18 beds, a friendly high resident-to-staff ratio, and a close-knit feel that's hard to come by. Melissa Ann Bongart has owned and run The Ranch since 2010, and the staff she leads-who speak both English and Spanish-stay joyful and gentle, treating everyone with kindness, giving help any time of day or night, and always working to make sure folks feel safe and cared for, no matter what care needs they have. The place is peaceful and quiet, so you hear birds, not traffic, and get to see lots of green grass and shady spots to walk, garden, or just sit outside on the walking paths or in the garden.

Residents have help with day-to-day things, like getting dressed, bathing, and taking medicine, so no one feels left behind, and there's staff to help with moving around, health care management, or coordination with outside doctors. Diabetic care, incontinence services, and non-ambulatory care sit side by side with memory care and specialized programs for Alzheimer's and Dementia, with Mental Health Support and an Adult Day Care too, so everyone can find help that fits, whether staying for a while or for good. Therapy services for physical, occupational, and speech needs come right into the Ranch, along with on-site physician visits. The home even welcomes Medicaid.

Meals are cooked right in the community kitchen using quality ingredients, and there's both private or semi-private rooms, with phone access, furniture, emergency alert systems, and lots of common space-both a living area indoors for movie nights or arts and crafts, and quiet outdoor nooks. The Ranch has activities that keep folks busy, engaged, and happy, with art, music, games, cards, coloring, dancing, gardening, pet therapy, exercise classes, and religious devotionals right on site, and all kinds of opportunities to keep up friendships. Pets live in the community too, bringing comfort and a bit of cheer. The staff organizes a steady flow of community-sponsored events, movie nights, social hours, and activities to help everyone stay active, both in body and mind.

You'll find transportation if you need it, plenty of parking, regular housekeeping and laundry (including dry cleaning), and help with move-in, so the change isn't so hard. Housekeeping staff keep things clean and safe, meals fit special diets for allergies or diabetes, and you don't have to worry about meal prep or dishes. Furnished rooms mean new residents just bring favorite things from home. Safety stands out, with emergency alerts throughout the building, while the staff make sure daily routines are followed and everyone's looked after.

There's shared spaces for gathering, a dining room for all-day dining, and a shared phone, plus scheduled devotional activities for those who'd like them. The Ranch runs as a proper Assisted Living Facility (ALF) and a Memory Care Unit, including Adult Day Care Services, and folks can count on expert advice from local senior living advisors.

The Ranch Assisted Living operates with a high standard of dignity and respect for each person, focusing on quality care with a family home feeling. It aims to give every resident a sense of belonging and purpose, with a lifestyle full of friendship, healthy routines, and attentive care, all on scenic land and all under the eye of hands-on, committed leadership that's been around since 2010.
