    Spacious, caring community with hiccups

I live here and love the spacious, well-designed apartments, beautiful grounds and cruise-ship-style dining - meals are generally excellent and there are nonstop activities so I'm never bored. The staff and residents are warm, caring and helpful, on-site medical/memory care and strong emergency preparedness give me real peace of mind, and move-in/transition support was smooth. My only caveats: pricing can be steep and there are occasional maintenance, communication or staffing hiccups. Overall I'm very happy and would recommend it with those caveats.

    About Forest Trace Senior Living

Forest Trace Senior Living stands on 73 acres of protected Cypress Preserve, with walking trails, wildlife, and a 30-acre lake, so residents get to enjoy leveled paths and plenty of natural views, and the whole community is gated for safety and peace of mind, which seems to help many feel at home. The community offers a range of living options, including independent living, assisted living, memory care for those with Alzheimer's and dementia, 55+ senior apartments, nursing and rehabilitation, adult day care, home health care, and flexible stays like snowbird rentals and respite care, so there's help for both long-term and short-term needs. Apartments come in studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom layouts, and you get either a private unit or the option to share, with every one having a full kitchen, private bathroom, washer and dryer, screened patio or terrace, and emergency call system, and the rooms are pet-friendly too, so you don't have to leave a beloved animal behind.

The staff provides compassionate, respectful, and individualized care, trying to promote each resident's dignity and independence while having safety features like grab bars, roll-in showers, emergency systems, and options to age in place, and with a part-time nurse, on-site skilled nursing, medication reminders, physical and occupational therapy, and hospice available, health care gets handled right on campus. Daily living assistance includes help with dressing, hygiene, housekeeping, laundry, and linen services, all tailored around each resident's needs, plus a housecleaning team works to keep apartments tidy and comfortable.

Dining at Forest Trace centers around restaurant-style service, with two gourmet meals per day, snacks as needed, and an open dining room available all day, and guests can join meals or residents can get meal delivery to their apartment, so there's flexibility depending on what somebody wants, and complimentary transportation is available for shopping, errands, or medical appointments. There's a good number of amenities scattered through the campus: heated swimming pool and hot tub with lounge chairs, tennis and shuffleboard courts, putting green, outdoor patios, lush gardens, clubhouse with a covered archway, library, ballroom, movie room, fitness center with daily classes like yoga and Pilates, an arts and crafts center, a billiards lounge, computer room, game room, beauty salon, barber shop, and even an atrium and a little golf course or mini golf spot. There are communal areas for events and socializing, a range of structured social, educational, and entertainment activities, and outings into the community, plus religious programs with Jewish services, visiting rabbi, and other devotional services offsite.

Forest Trace Senior Living supports a drug-free, equal opportunity environment, and keeps a positive atmosphere for both residents and staff, offering staff a solid benefits package, career opportunities, meals, and online education, so people working there seem to stay invested in resident care. Apartments have practical features like full kitchens and walk-in closets, and all common areas have simple decor and comfortable seating, with warm lighting and a welcoming feel. The community offers memory care services with unique plans for each resident, and day programs to keep people engaged, plus a visitor policy with clear guidelines. There's a resident portal online and an active presence on Facebook and Instagram for updates, and tours are available for people considering moving in. All services and care options operate under state license number 7448, and financing includes all-inclusive rent options with added care fees as needed.

    About Pacifica Senior Living

Pacifica Senior Living, a division of Pacifica Companies (family-owned since 1978), was founded in 2008 and is headquartered in San Diego, California. Operating over 90 communities across 13-14 states with concentrations in California, Florida, and Arizona, Pacifica has grown to become the 13th largest overall senior care provider in the United States. The company ranks as the 5th largest memory care provider, 10th largest assisted living provider, and 21st largest independent living provider nationally, serving thousands of residents from coast to coast through their comprehensive care offerings. Pacifica's mission centers on creating a lifestyle of independence, security, and peace of mind for each individual and their family. The company provides personalized, compassionate care services through their signature Heartland™ Assisted Living and Legacies™ Memory Care programs, which focus on the individual while offering customized care plans that respect each resident's needs, preferences, and privacy. Their philosophy emphasizes striking a balance between assistance and independence, providing dignified and compassionate retirement experiences in environments that feel like home. Each community is managed individually, allowing for tailored support of unique resident profiles and communal character, with everything from scheduling to dining menus designed around residents' preferences. The company's specialized memory care programs demonstrate their expertise in dementia care. Their Legacies™ Memory Care program helps patients with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of memory loss feel safe and secure while providing memory-boosting activities. The innovative Amara Memory Support program creates welcoming and empowering environments that celebrate the essence of people rather than focusing on their diagnosis. Programming encompasses nine Focus Elements of Life: Recreation, Service, Spirituality, Movement, Sensory, Household Connection, Community, Exploration, and Creative Arts, delivered through stimulating activities including gardening, culinary adventures, musical experiences, creative artistic outlets, and mindfulness practices. Pacifica offers a comprehensive continuum of care including independent living, assisted living, memory care, respite care, skilled nursing, and adult day care services. All communities focus on promoting well-being by meeting care needs while facilitating social interactions, activities, and wellness programs. Despite recent financial challenges leading to the bankruptcy of one management entity affecting approximately 20 California facilities, the majority of Pacifica's nearly 100 communities continue operating, maintaining their commitment to advancing senior living and providing peace of mind to residents and families through warm, family-like communities where each resident receives individualized attention while maintaining dignity and independence.
