    Warm, small, clean, caring home

My dad is at this small, family-like home and I'm very pleased. It's clean, bright and comfy with private rooms and Wi-Fi, a sunny common area, good homestyle meals and lots of activities. The executive director and staff are professional, compassionate and attentive to individual needs, respectful of dignity, and welcoming of visitors. It feels safe, loving and homelike-I'd recommend it for families who want a warm, small setting.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment across these reviews is strongly positive, centering on high-quality, personalized care delivered in a small, home-like setting. Reviewers repeatedly praise the staff — from the executive director to individual caregivers — describing them as compassionate, professional, dedicated, and highly communicative. Multiple comments note that staff are effective with difficult residents and challenging behaviors, suggesting both skill and patience in managing complex needs. Several reviewers explicitly say they would recommend the community and express gratitude for the care their loved ones received.

The facility itself is consistently described as clean, bright, and comfortable. Its small size (maximum of eight residents) is a repeatedly noted characteristic that reviewers view favorably: they emphasize a warm, family-like atmosphere, individualized attention, and an “immaculate home” feeling rather than an institutional one. Features like private rooms with internet, a sunroom, a piano and cozy common areas are mentioned as contributing to the homelike environment. Safety, comfort, and dignity (including references to good end-of-life care) are recurring themes that reinforce the perception of high-quality, person-centered care.

Activities and daily life are another strong theme. Reviews list a variety of activities — crafts, exercise, walks, a peaceful maze, singing and dancing, games — indicating a lively and diverse programming approach that caters to physical, social, and recreational needs. Meals receive consistently positive impressions as well, with references to well-balanced food and overall satisfaction with dining. The combination of appropriate programming and pleasant communal spaces contributes to the impression that residents have meaningful engagement and a comfortable daily routine.

Management and communication are highlighted positively: reviewers single out an “amazing executive director” and other caregivers by name, noting professionalism, compassion and clear communication. The open visitation policy (visiting loved ones anytime) is mentioned as an important benefit for families. Several reviews emphasize the staff’s attentiveness to individual needs and extra tenderness or TLC, portraying a highly personalized caregiving approach.

While the feedback is overwhelmingly favorable, there are a couple of practical limitations evident from the summaries. The facility’s very small capacity — a maximum of eight residents — can be a strength for personalization but also a constraint: reviewers mention limited vacancies (e.g., “one open room”), which implies possible waitlists or limited immediate availability. For families seeking a larger community with broader social variety or more extensive services, this small scale may be a mismatch.

In summary, the reviews paint Silver Lake Village by Preferred Assisted Living as a small, well-run, deeply caring assisted living option where staff competence and kindness, a homelike and immaculate environment, varied activities, positive meals, and supportive leadership combine to produce high family satisfaction. The principal trade-off identified is limited capacity and potential availability constraints inherent to the small, intimate model. For those prioritizing individualized attention, a family-like atmosphere, and staff skilled in managing challenging behaviors, the facility receives strong endorsements from multiple reviewers.

About Silver Lake Village by Preferred Assisted Living

Silver Lake Village by Preferred Assisted Living sits on five acres in Leesburg, Florida, at 34601 Radio Road, and takes care of up to eight residents in a small, home-like setting. The place focuses on assisted living, memory care, and board and care home services, so seniors who need daily help with things like bathing, dressing, medications, eating, or moving around will find plenty of support from staff who are always available, day and night. Families can use respite care, adult day care, and even hospice support if needed, and there are some short-term stays when caregivers need a break, with care set up for only a day, a week, or longer if that helps. Silver Lake Village also has secure memory care for people living with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or those who need guidance with day-to-day living.

Residents can pick either a private suite or a shared furnished room, and every place has a kitchenette and a private bathroom, plus phones and cable. The building is wheelchair accessible, and showers are easy to use for people who need extra support in the bathroom. Meals are made onsite, and they give residents choices-they'll serve vegetarian, Kosher, allergy-friendly, and diabetic options, and people can eat in the main dining room, in smaller dining spaces, or even have snacks and meals all day if their schedule is different. The community has common areas with updated furniture, an outdoor space with gardens, paved walking paths, plenty of plants and trees, and there's usually wildlife around, which many residents enjoy watching from indoors or outside. No one has to worry about laundry, cleaning, or upkeep, since staff handles housekeeping, linens, dry cleaning, and general maintenance for everyone.

Transportation is offered for doctor visits, grocery trips, or offsite activities, and staff helps residents schedule these appointments or outings when families can't make it. There's a call system in every room for emergencies, and a nurse is usually on call for anything urgent, with doctors, therapists, and podiatrists making regular visits. The staff gives personal care help such as grooming, toileting, or moving around, and will help with medication management and reminders to keep everything running smoothly throughout the day and night. Seniors can enjoy daily social activities like card games, lectures, group discussions, movie nights, and classes, or get involved in hobbies like bird-watching, arts and crafts, gardening, and cooking. Physical activities and simple exercise programs are offered to help residents stay as active as they're able. Religious and devotional services are available for those who want them, and there's plenty of time set aside for families or visitors.

The care plan is made to suit each resident, and there's a strong focus on supporting a person's independence and making daily life as simple and safe as possible, while still encouraging social connections in the shared spaces. Residents can have a say in activities or how things run in the home, and that close connection to the group helps give the community a relaxed, family-like feel. Staff work closely with each person and their loved ones to set up the level of help that fits best. Rates are all-inclusive with no hidden fees, care charges, or unexpected costs, and people can often choose how much or how little support they receive, with options to change as their needs change. The whole place is kept clean and has a fresh smell, and no smoking is allowed inside private areas. Silver Lake Village has a State of Florida license (#8956), and reviews are positive, with a perfect rating from two reviewers and a community score of 7.3 from Seniorly's system.
