    Compassionate, clean, engaging memory care

I placed my mom in Market Street's memory care and couldn't be happier. The bright, spacious, spotless community feels like home - private rooms, safe layout, lovely dining area and daily activities that keep residents engaged. Executive Director Teleia and the nursing/care team are compassionate, highly trained, and routinely go above and beyond, with clear communication that gave our family peace of mind. Delicious, nutritious meals and a warm, energetic atmosphere make this a place I wholeheartedly recommend.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The reviews form a strong, predominantly positive portrait of Market Street Viera as a specialized memory-care community with many consistent strengths. Most reviewers describe compassionate, highly trained staff who demonstrate genuine empathy and dementia-specific expertise. Families repeatedly praise the nursing and caregiving teams for attentiveness, dignity-preserving care, and frequent, reassuring communication. Leadership and administration (multiple reviewers name the executive director and DON) are frequently credited for being proactive, accessible and engaged with both families and frontline staff. The facility’s cleanliness, new construction, home-like design, and dementia-friendly layout are repeatedly highlighted. Dining is commonly reported as excellent with a full-time chef and restaurant-quality meals. Daily programming is rich and varied —therapeutic routines, creative activities, music and outings— and reviewers consistently describe residents as engaged, safe, and happy.

Care quality and staff: The dominant theme is high-quality memory care. Numerous reviewers label Market Street Viera as a “gold standard” or preferred partner for memory-care clients; staff training and dementia-focused skill sets are emphasized across reviews. Several individual staff members (nurses, caregivers, and leadership) are named and praised for going above and beyond, providing quick clinical responses, and ensuring smooth transitions into memory care. Multiple accounts describe a marked improvement and stability in care during the most recent 4–6 months, following a prior period of inconsistency. This recent improvement is attributed to stronger leadership, renewed accountability, and energized staff culture.

Facilities, amenities and programming: The building and grounds receive very high marks: bright atriums and walking spaces, wide hallways, spacious single apartments with private baths and thermostats, and well-planned common areas (dining room, salon, baking area, nostalgic storefronts) that support autonomy and engagement. Practical features—such as graduated programming tailored to resident capability, therapeutic routines, memory shadowboxes, and structured outings including monthly bus lunches—are repeatedly cited. The culinary program receives particular praise (Chef Manny and others), with several reviewers noting nutritious, restaurant-quality meals and a positive dining experience.

Management and communication: Many families emphasize strong, responsive management and good ongoing communication—timely emails, follow-up, third-party resource referrals, and hands-on involvement from the executive director and administrative team. Reviewers describe the administrative tone as warm, professional and family-focused, which helps with transitions and family confidence in placement. Reviewers who noted a prior rough stretch describe visible correction and accountability from leadership, with resulting improvements in staff consistency and resident outcomes.

Concerns and negative patterns: Despite the overwhelmingly positive consensus, there are notable areas of concern to be aware of. A number of reviews reference a difficult period of staff rotation and reduced care quality from late-2022 through late-2023; families report that care has since improved, but this indicates vulnerability to turnover. Several comments raise training and vetting questions: mentions of young or inexperienced aides, desires for stronger background checks or character-reference processes, and calls for increased camera surveillance to bolster safety. A small number of highly negative outlier reviews allege serious incidents (elopement, death, infestations, legal disputes, and claims of mismanagement). These are minority reports but serious in nature; they contrast sharply with the majority of positive experiences. Cost is another recurring practical downside—multiple reviewers call the community expensive.

What this means for prospective families: The aggregated reviews portray Market Street Viera as a high-quality, memory-care-focused community with significant strengths in staff compassion, clinical expertise, facility design, programming and food. The community appears to have experienced operational challenges during a past staffing transition but has documented recent improvement and renewed consistency under active leadership. Prospective families should weigh the overwhelmingly positive feedback from the majority of reviewers, while also performing due diligence around the minority but serious safety/management complaints. Recommended steps include touring the community (meeting leadership and care staff), asking for recent staffing ratios and turnover statistics, inquiring about background checks/HR policies and incident history, confirming the specifics of programming and therapeutic routines, and reviewing contract/cost details. In summary, Market Street Viera is widely recommended by families for memory care and appears to be a well-designed, well-staffed and caring community, with a few cautionary signals that warrant direct questions during any evaluation or placement decision.
