    Clean facility with mixed accessibility

I had my mom stay here for rehab and longer-term care. The staff were mostly friendly, kind and professional, therapy/OT/PT was effective, and the facility is generally very clean with plenty of activities, elevators and ample parking. It's a large split rehab/nursing complex, and while some wings are bright and newly renovated, others feel dingy, bare or outdated. Communication can be slow, a few staff lacked bedside manners, and there are accessibility/room-arrangement issues (shared rooms, no call button/accessible showers in places). Overall a solid, clean place with good therapy and caring people, but expect mixed atmospheres and some staffing/accessibility gaps.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment is mixed but leans positive around staff attitude, rehabilitation services, and certain amenity features. A consistent strength in many reviews is the staff: reviewers frequently describe receptionists, nurses, and other employees as courteous, professional, and kind. Multiple accounts praise good communication with nursing staff and note successful outcomes from the physical and occupational therapy programs. Several reviewers specifically highlight rehabilitation success and responsiveness during rehab stays. Cleanliness is another commonly cited positive — some reviewers describe the facility as very clean and recently renovated, with bright, peaceful interiors.

Amenities and communal spaces are noted favorably. The facility offers a sun room (with an outdoor parrot area mentioned by more than one reviewer), comfortable seating, a piano, and recreational rooms with TV and board games. There is an organized calendar of activities and regular recreational options (walks, small parties, and room-based activities), which contribute to residents' satisfaction in several reports. Practical conveniences such as multiple elevators, wheelchair access in many areas, ample parking, a security guard in the parking lot, a sign-in kiosk, and available bus transportation are additional positives called out consistently.

However, the reviews reveal meaningful and recurring concerns, and experiences appear to vary noticeably depending on which wing or side of the facility people encounter. Several reviewers contrast newly renovated, clean-looking sections with other areas described as dingy, depressing, or outdated. This split is reinforced by comments about the facility operating with two distinct sides (a physical rehab side and a nursing/home side), which may explain divergent impressions of décor, upkeep, and atmosphere. Some reviewers explicitly describe a more clinical or bare-hallway aesthetic in certain parts, while others find the place pleasant and pretty.

Care-related issues surface in a number of reviews. While many praise staff kindness and professionalism, there are multiple reports of inattentive care and staff lacking bedside manner. Specific safety and accessibility concerns were raised: some rooms reportedly lack call buttons by the bed and there are no wheelchair-accessible showers in at least some areas. Several reviewers mention not enough staff to assist residents promptly, leading to delays or unmet assistance needs despite the presence of elevators and accessible routes. There are also isolated but notable safety/comfort incidents (resident screaming, alarms going off) and comments that the main entrance or some portions of the facility look depressed or poorly maintained.

Operational and practical comments are mixed: dining is described as adequate by some and only so-so by others, with at least one mention that dinners can be served in residents' rooms when needed. Communication from management or staff can be slow or inconsistent according to several reviewers, and the large, multi-wing layout is described as potentially confusing or impersonal. There is also occasional uncertainty reported about private-room availability, which may matter to prospective residents and families.

In summary, St. Anne's appears to offer many strengths: generally kind and professional staff in many areas, solid rehab and therapy services, clean and renovated spaces in parts of the building, and a range of amenities and activities that support resident engagement. At the same time, prospective residents should be aware of unevenness across the facility — some wings are noted as less well-maintained, and there are recurring concerns about staffing levels, bedside manner, certain accessibility features (call buttons, wheelchair showers), and inconsistent communication. These patterns suggest that tours and specific questions about the particular wing, room features (call bell, private vs shared), and staffing for the intended level of care (short-term rehab vs long-term nursing) would be important for families to resolve variability seen in the reviews.
