    Cozy family feel, limited activities

I live here and like the small, family atmosphere - private room, cozy living room, back porch and fenced backyard, plus church activities that make me feel like I belong. The staff are wonderful and will work with you (one person on the phone was unfriendly), and I'm happy with the care. It's not modern and there's no activity calendar or many group activities - residents are often low-energy, though occasional shopping/movie outings happen.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is mixed but leans positive with important caveats. Reviewers repeatedly emphasize that Eden Manor is a small, homelike facility that fosters a family atmosphere and a sense of belonging. Multiple summaries note that residents or clients are happy and have received great care in the past. Staff are frequently described as wonderful and willing to work with families, suggesting individualized attention and a flexible approach to resident needs. The availability of private rooms and homelike communal spaces — family dining area, living room, back porch and a fenced-in backyard — reinforces the impression of a residential, comforting environment rather than an institutional one.

Care quality and staff: The strongest positive theme is staff and care. Several reviewers explicitly call the staff great or wonderful and describe staff as cooperative and willing to accommodate family requests. This implies a high-touch level of personal care consistent with the small size of the facility. However, there are reports of inconsistency: one reviewer points out that one staff member was nice while another reviewer describes unfriendly phone staff. That suggests variability in interpersonal interactions, particularly around administrative or phone communication. In short, hands-on caregiving appears to be a strength, but front-desk/phone communication and uniformity of staff approach may be weaknesses.

Facilities and accommodations: The facility is consistently described as small and homelike rather than modern. Positive specifics include private rooms and comfortable shared areas like a dining room, living room, and a back porch, plus a fenced-in backyard which may be appealing to families who want outdoor access. Conversely, reviewers explicitly note that the place is “not modern,” which may reflect dated décor, furnishings, or amenities. Prospective residents who prioritize a contemporary facility or extensive on-site amenities should note this point.

Dining and social spaces: Family dining is mentioned positively, which suggests meals may be communal and reinforce the home-like culture. There are also references to church activities, indicating some organized spiritual or religious programming. Outings for shopping and movies are mentioned, showing that there are at least occasional external activities and transportation for residents.

Activities and engagement: This is the most significant area of concern. Multiple reviewers point out a lack of group activities and the absence of an activity calendar. Some reviewers observed that residents appeared in a stupor or exhibited low levels of activity, which raises questions about day-to-day engagement and cognitive or social stimulation provided. While there are church activities and some outings, the reviews suggest inconsistent or insufficient structured programming to keep residents actively engaged on a regular basis.

Management and communication: Reviews raise a concern about phone and administrative interactions, describing some staff as unfriendly on the phone. Combined with the earlier point about inconsistent staff friendliness, this suggests that communication and front-office experience could be improved. Management may want to focus on standardizing training for all staff who interact with families and prospective residents to ensure a consistently welcoming and informative experience.

Overall recommendation and patterns: Eden Manor appears to suit families or residents seeking a small, family-oriented, homelike setting with caring staff and private-room accommodations. It is likely a good fit for those who value individualized attention over modern amenities or robust activity programming. The most important caveats are the limited or inconsistent activity offerings and some variability in staff communication and friendliness. Prospective residents or families should ask specific questions about current activity schedules, frequency of outings, and staffing consistency, and consider visiting to assess the level of daily stimulation and the physical condition of the facility before deciding.

    About Eden Manor

Eden Manor sits in Orlando, Florida, and serves as a residential care home focused on seniors who want privacy but need extra help, with its building dating back to 1910 and later renovated in 1994, so it has history and modern comforts together, and it's got lush gardens and elegant architecture that's easy on the eyes. The capacity tops out at six beds for assisted living, offering a small, quiet community where folks can get to know each other, and friendly staff members help whenever someone needs support with daily tasks, always aiming to respect independence. Eden Manor covers a wide range of care-including independent living, memory care for those with dementia, help with daily activities, short-term stays after surgeries or injuries, and professional nursing support around the clock for health needs-without being overwhelming or crowded, which can be a relief for some people.

There's a structured program of activities, keeping residents engaged with events, educational opportunities, and both social and entertaining things to do, plus kosher and vegetarian meal options if someone needs them, so every resident's preferences and health needs are taken into consideration. Dining is quality-focused, aiming to fit diets and tastes, and there are common areas both indoors and in outdoor spaces, where it's easy to take part in activities or just relax, sometimes with pets since it's pet-friendly. Prospective residents can schedule a tour, see the grounds, visit the versatile event space-used for things like weddings or other special occasions-and meet the staff and others living there. The monthly cost for assisted living starts at $2,000, but specific prices aren't published; availability can be checked through their service before making a decision. The facility's state license number is 10439. Eden Manor is close to medical offices, shops, restaurants, and outdoor options in Orlando, so seniors stay connected with the wider community. The idea is to help seniors age in place with dignity, enjoy privacy and comfort, and live an active, supported life.
