    Compassionate dementia respite, minor issues

My mother had respite care at Jeroll Care and I was very pleased - attentive, loving caregivers (Jhoane, Ron and team), an RN owner who met with us beforehand, and excellent dementia care. The home was immaculate, rooms well kept, meals cooked from scratch (three meals + snacks), and residents enjoyed Bingo, dominos and Friday music; Mom socialized and showed no stress at pick-up. It's a safe, cozy small-group, home-like setting, but not the best fit if you want a very active program. I highly recommend Jeroll Care for compassionate memory/respite care, though be aware we experienced a language barrier and some management/power issues that gave me pause.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive with repeated praise for the quality of hands-on care, the cleanliness of the home, and the warm, small-group atmosphere. Multiple reviewers emphasize that caregivers are attentive and compassionate; the presence of an RN owner is noted as a substantial benefit and contributes to confidence in clinical oversight. Reviewers repeatedly mention that staff communicate well, are accommodating, and create a home-like, secure environment where residents appear comfortable and calm.

Facility and environment receive consistent commendations: reviewers describe the home as immaculately clean, with well-kept rooms and a cozy, small-group layout that supports personalized attention. The small size is framed as both a strength (closer staff relationships, individualized care, less stressful pickup/dropoff) and an explanation for some limitations in programming. Safety and a sense of comfort are recurring themes; several reviews describe no signs of stress at pickup and note that owners meet with families before admission, which contributes to trust.

Dining is another clear strength. Multiple reviews highlight meals cooked from scratch, with three daily meals plus snacks, and generally good food quality. This aspect is repeatedly called out as contributing to overall resident satisfaction. Respite care is available and specifically mentioned as a positive option for families needing short-term placement.

Activities and social engagement are present but limited. The home provides games like BINGO and dominos and schedules regular entertainment such as Friday music, and reviewers note that residents do socialize with peers. However, a recurring criticism is the relative lack of outside activities or more varied, frequent programming. Some reviewers caution that Jeroll Care may not be the best fit for residents who require a highly active, constantly stimulated environment; those families wanted more outings or a busier activity calendar.

Management and administrative dynamics show mixed feedback. While many reviewers praise specific staff and name caregivers (Jhoane, Ron) positively, a few reviews raise concerns about a staff language barrier and report interpersonal or power-related issues involving the director or family-member dynamics. These comments center on management style and communication in administrative matters rather than care quality. They suggest families should clarify roles and expectations up front and ask questions about who makes decisions, especially if they anticipate needing complex administrative interactions.

Care for residents with memory issues is mentioned favorably; several reviewers appreciate the home’s experience with dementia care and the compassionate approach staff take with memory-impaired residents. This, combined with the RN ownership and small-group format, makes Jeroll Care appear particularly well-suited for families seeking calm, attentive, medically informed care in a homelike setting. In summary: Jeroll Care is highly regarded for cleanliness, hands-on compassionate caregiving, home-cooked meals, and a secure small-home environment. The main limitations are fewer activity offerings and some reported management/communication issues that families should proactively address during admission conversations to ensure a good fit.
