    Compassionate staff, smooth move-in experience

I moved my mom in here and have been very pleased. The staff are exceptional - friendly, professional and genuinely compassionate - and the move-in was smooth. The facility is clean, safe, well-maintained and has a pleasant outdoor space; meals are tasty and there are plenty of engaging activities (trivia, brain exercises, bingo). Administration is easy to reach and responsive - the director even helped with paperwork - and my mom gets attentive, family-like care. Very satisfied overall, with just a bit of room for improvement.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviewers consistently praise Country Manor for its warm, family-like atmosphere, with the caregiving team singled out for compassion, responsiveness, and hands-on support during move-in transitions. Families frequently described staff as attentive, protective, and willing to engage with relatives, and ownership/management is often characterized as accessible and responsive.

Care and staff: The dominant theme across comments is positive caregiver–resident interaction: staff are described as compassionate, calm, and communicative, providing regular updates to families. That said, there is some variability in staff behavior and professionalism noted by reviewers; a small number expressed concern about staff conduct and raised questions about whether the facility’s scope of services matched their expectations. One reviewer even alleged the facility did not meet assisted-living expectations, which suggests the need for prospective families to confirm care scope and staff competencies during tours.

Dining and activities: Dining is a consistent strength — meals are described as home-style and palatable (examples cited include spaghetti, fried chicken and fried chicken nuggets), and kitchen staff are noted to provide snacks on request. The activity program appears active and varied, with cognitive and physical options such as brain exercises, trivia, sit-to-stand or seated exercise, and regular bingo. These offerings contribute to social engagement and routine for residents.

Facilities and environment: Many reviewers report a clean, well-maintained interior and attractive outdoor amenities, including a large yard and porch seating. The setting is described as safe and welcoming. However, some comments point to variability in housekeeping standards and indicate that room or unit sizes may be small — for example, not roomy enough for two occupants. A smoking presence was observed by reviewers, suggesting smoke-control policies or enforcement could be clarified.

Management and access: Administrative responsiveness is highlighted as a positive: directors who assist with paperwork and Medicaid, and ownership that communicates with families. The facility’s long waitlist indicates strong demand, which can be reassuring about quality but also an access limitation for families needing immediate placement.

Notable patterns and advice for families: The strongest, most consistent positives are person-centered staff interactions, good food, and an active activity schedule in a generally well-kept facility. Areas to verify in person include current housekeeping practices, room size and suitability for roommates, the facility’s smoking policies, and precise scope-of-care capabilities (level of assistance offered for higher-acuity needs). Prospective residents and families would be well advised to request a tour, meet caregiving staff, review service agreements, and confirm bed availability given the waitlist.
